We all want MGS4 ported to modern consoles/PC. Toss in Twin Snakes and GBC Ghost Babel, and that's a day 1 buy easily. 😍 🤤

@JoakimZ Yes that's true, although surely if there's any internal comms going back and forth, MS could suggest to a publisher that a sale/discount is warrented. Purely speculation, mind you.

@NorthwestEagle There are literally hundreds that either never go on sale, or its been years since their last drop. MS has a lot to work with if they so choose.

@Utena-mobile No, if it's not on the modern store or on the old 360 Marketplace, then there's unfortunately no way to buy it digitally anymore. I was in the same boat with Splinter Cell just last week, so I went and bought a physical copy for $6.

Mine has been off since day 1. Just another thing that can go wrong. Rule #1 of gaming: SAVE OFTEN!

@ArmoredMore I'm fully agnostic on Bethesda and the hype around SF. I thought the showcase had some interesting stuff, but didn't make me want to buy it day 1. Of my two friends who were very hyped for SF and like Bethesda titles, one enjoys it, the other requested a refund a few days after playing it. So, there's that.

@ArmoredMore If Starfield can't even get a fast travel system right, as all open world games should have (preferably with a few menu clicks) perhaps it's best for some like myself to wait until a sale before trying it. Here's when game pass is perfect for this type of game and players like myself.

Every open world game needs a fast travel system. Starfield is no different.

@Lightweight Ouch, it sounds like such a broken system. I remember a few years ago, my PSN account was banned for 3 days. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. I hadn't played online recently, or communicated with any one random around the time. I've had the same benign, official Sony avatar for years. I've never played on a hacked console. It's bizarre. I'm thinking a lot of these triggers are automatic, like when one submits an essay and the school's system auto-checks it for plagerism, sources sometimes are flagged despite it being cited correctly.

@XboxTheBestBox Slight visual upgrades are nice, sure, as are frame rate boosts, but no, the concept of BWC existed long before HDR was a thing.

And again, quick resume reduces loading times....and then... ? It has nothing to do with the concept of BWC.

I gave a substantive example of some Xbox games being lost in 2024 with the 360 store closure, and you chose to highlight HDR and Load times...

Unless you missed it, there won't be any more updates this generation. Will that always be the case? Hopefully not (my personal guess is no), and hopefully BWC will improve with Xbox 5th gen, but don't just blindly assume it's set in stone.
We're also about to lose a number of XB360 games next year when the 360 store shuts down. That's not a win for game preservation. If it wasn't released on disc, and it doesn't work on the modern Xbox store, then bye-bye to those games. 👋
These companies will do what's best for themselves, not us, at the end of the day.

@Krysus Agreed. I rarely pay for GPU, so seeing every other MS story is "GP this, GP that", I honestly don't give a 💩. I love the feature, but MS need not be a one-trick pony with a single notable feature.

One of Microsoft's worst decisions was to end the BWC program. The final update was amazing with games like Timesplitters 2 and 3, and that should have continued with XSX.

Ubisoft hasn't got a damn clue what their fans want. We can't have BG&E2. We can't have a new Rayman. We can't have a new Splinter Cell. We can finally have a new POP, albiet a 2.5D metroidvania with terrible trailer music. It seems they're just the Asscreed and Farcry company now. 😒

A C+/B- for me. Stuff like Fable, Forza, etc... doesn't appeal to me. RPGs in general do not.
Clockwork Revolution was my highlight, as I'm always down for a game with time travel mechanics. Overall, the lack of truly huge surprises is what brings it down, as many of these we already know about. Had they shown Perfect Dark, we'd be having a different conversation.
I've never played an original Bethesda IP, so Starfield will likely be my first. It looks interesting enough.

@darkswabber "Second party" isn't a thing. Insomniac was always third party who chose to mostly work with Sony. Also as Xbox fans are concerned, there's no reason to not have another quality studio under one's belt. Rare had turned to crap by the time Nintendo got rid of them, so such a purchase in hindsight is very questionable.

Easily one of the best games from 2022, and it was amazing to play the entire thing on Game Pass. I would happily buy this in the future, especially now that there's an FPS update.
