@Gemini53 I've got oldie friends who have ditched physical media 100%, are fully on the AI slop bandwagon and pretty much only care about new releases and the same cookie cutter stuff from studios like Ubisoft, so it's not just the younger crowds succumbing to this crap.

There's really no reason to be optimistic about Xbox's future. I see PC intergration as being kinda interesting, especially if Xbox could also access the plethora of PC storefronts like Steam, Epic, GOG, plus the MS store on top of it, and have otherwise PC exclusive games and demos all work on the hardware. That could be cool, but the confidence in the brand is in the toilet at this point.

@Darylb88 Usually I find the States of play pretty awful but this one was excellent. Being huge Horror, retro/retro inspired fan that I am, there was a lot for me. (A new CV and Silent Hill alone is a win 😍)

@smoreon I skipped MGS GBC/Ghost Babel at the time due to not knowing what Metal Gear was, and the high prices for it in subsequent years always kept me away.
I enjoyed the original MG, and I still have to play MG2, so more of that style of play from Ghost Babel sounds exciting to me.

Thrilled to see MGS4 finally getting a new life on modern platforms! I originally played through the entire series on the PS3 Legacy Collection and it was fantastic, and I'm dying to play through 4 again. Plus the addition of Ghost Babel is incredible. 😍

@Elbow On top of their other trends of selling low quality burnt CD-Rs, Scott pilgrim still requiring an online check to work, repro carts that were corroded, releasing random crap like Plumbers and Bill & Ted that no one wanted, just to name a few. They're a garbage company.

Losing the PD reboot is inexcusable. i've got my Switch 2, I'll probably get a PS6, and I have absolutely zero desire at this point for another Xbox console. I hate what MS has done with Xbox. The brand is at it's lowest, most undesirable point it's ever been at. Truly sad and pathetic.

Beyond embarrassing for Xbox. The brand is dying. The execs destroyed it. Xbox peaked with 360. ❤️

Seriously, a F2P shooter being the final announcement was just embarrassing. TGA this year was a letdown in terms of new reveals.

@UndyingInsurgent95 Perfectly summed up. Netflix, much like game pass, is getting way too expensive. I'm also a hardcore gamer and I have absolutely zero interest in the gaming side of Netflix, yet I have to pay for something I don't use. Madness.

I expected nothing, because Xbox as a brand is both dying and blazing its way at full-speed to irrelevance.

After MS killed off the PD reboot, that sealed the deal for me. That was my #1 most anticipated title. PD is my favourite FPS of all time. We just don't get these spy-themed shooters anymore.
But after what happened, I really have zero desire for any future Xbox hardware, nor much desire to continue with the brand. Xbox used to be my 3rd party game console and even those I find myself picking more up on PS5, out of my sheer disappointment with the terrible decisions MS has made. MS betrayed us, in many ways.

@Gabrie Umm, no. PS5 has crushed Xbox 3 to 1, S2 has sold over 10M units already, and the top selling 1st party titles list of Nintendo is staggering. MS is the only one going to struggle massively next gen. If it's mainly just beefed up and little else, and there's zero exclusives, there's no reason for the masses to buy it. I'm about ready to bail cause I rarely use GP and there's no exclusives anymore.

Xbox will be in for a shock when this overpriced new console goes ignored, as gamers rush to buy PS6 instead, barring some colossal f-up from Sony.
There's no excitement in the XB brand. MS isn't fixing any of their software problems, they're making them worse, and that's why gamers aren't interested. Game consoles still highly benefit from console exclusives, as Nintendo and Sony demonstrate.
Cancelling Perfect Dark was the last straw for me as far as Xbox is concerned. GamePass is now ridiculously overpriced too.

The Xbox brand is so tarnished now after a decade + of dumb decisions, the end of Xbox hardware seems almost inevitable at this point. It's just a question of how badly will Magnus flop? Gamers won't pay more for this, with zero exclusives, when they know PS6 will get Xbox studios titles as well.
I'd like to be wrong, as I want more than just an arbitrary choice of 2 consoles.
