For anyone who has played this, does it play similar to the Total War series? I got that vibe watching the trailer, except for the 3rd person perspective where you walk around.
Great atmosphere. I love getting to know the characters. And can I say that not only is the writing top notch, but the art style of the character design is really fantastic.
@InterceptorAlpha Seriously. Modern gaming is frustrating. It's a flash in a pan. A lot of these games will not work, when they become "retro" even if you have the physical disc.
I have always appreciated the art style of fighter games, though I lack the skill to appreciate the game play. I am jealous of those who are good at these.
It is also nice to see Capcom treating their legacy franchises with care and attention. This seems like a beautiful package, and I'll likely grab it, if not to simply appreciate the art. Plus, maybe Puzzle Fighter will be more my speed.
I don't disregard the reasons listed here. But I wanted to add one more as a possibility. Those of use who were around to play Halo during an impressionable time have a nostalgic connection to the franchise. Thus, I think a lot of us, plus the more modern gamers (who are used to Games as a Service) flocked to Halo Infinite when it released. This created huge numbers. I can't speak for other "old-timey's" but I had fun with it for a bit, but I never seem to be able to stick around with any "Games as a Service". I often get tired trying to keep up with the daily/weekly stuff and I'm not sure how to articulate it, but these types of games just have a different vibe than before. I honestly get an exhausted feeling from playing these types of games. They encourage playing games for external reasons instead of intrinsic ones. So I suspect, a lot of old-timey's came in... tried it out, got tired and left.
Personally, there was not enough variety in the game reveals. Yes, there were a lot of reveals, but mostly very moody, darkly themed and an overabundance of shooty-shoots.
I also still dislike how the AWARDS show sort of shoo's through the awards quickly to give us all the reveals.
@hbkay I want to be civil, but I am genuinely curious of what you want or are expecting with Game Pass? I get a sense that you are forming an opinion on a slew of games without trying them. Am I correct?
I'm just surprised when I see comments like this, because yeah, there are often weeks where a bunch of games are released on GP and I think to myself, "Well... I've never heard of this...." but then I give them a try and I'm often surprised how many fantastic games I've experienced over the past year. To me that is the beauty of Game Pass; to have the opportunity to give those "never heard of games" a chance, risk free. Having a AAA or popular game thrown in there every other month is just bonus to me.
@Balta666 My exact thoughts. Although there have been a big influx of Indies, I also understand why. I also feel that Game Pass still offers a nice variety every month.
Wow. I just can't keep up with the GamePass releases. I'm looking forward to SkateBird, Lost Words (I didn't even know this was coming, and I was going to buy this on Switch), Sable and Astria Ascending.
I am SOOO happy to see SO many people enjoy Psychonauts 2 that they are going back to play the 1st one. The first Psychonauts IS my favourite game of all time. I am currently playing the 2nd one, and am relieved and thrilled that the second game captures everything that made the first one great.
I am VERY excited to play this. It looks absolutely cute and adorable. I love the art style. I especially like the art in the little fishing journal.
So happy that it is coming to Game Pass. The best part is when Zach said "The features that I personally like, involve things such as being able to save across console generations." This is awesome. More games should do this. I discover so many amazing games on Game Pass, but often when a physical release comes out later on, it releases on other platforms (such as Switch). I appreciate that I can start on Game Pass, and continue my journey elsewhere if needed.
@blinx01 My sentiment exactly. I took on too many games for May. I'm actually happy to have a reason to wait on Biomutant. I really want to play it, but I also want to realistically have the time to give it my focus.
This is my most anticipated game. The original Psychonauts has ceased to be dethroned as my favourite game of all time. It was creative, and touched on various mental capacities of the human mind. The gameplay was fun. The dialogue was sharp and witty. I loved the rewards for collecting items, such as opening up artwork and neat slideshows that gave you insight to the characters background.
@Insightful I got the Series X and have not had an Xbox since the early 360 days. I'm amazed at how much the Xbox Social Media team interacts with their followers, in witty down to earth ways. I feel like a lot of companies can learn from their marketing.
IF they actually did turn this game around and make a good Harvest Moon for once, it would be smart marketing to throw this up on to GamePass. People would play it and then talk about how good it is.
I wish them the best. Their track record has been terrible.
@Fath hahahaha! Well... I wish I was living the dream.... my boyfriend doesn’t care for video games! It pains me to have so many great multiplayer games and no one to play with! 😭
I can’t compare to the previous controller as I didn’t own an Xbox One. I do have Switch and PS4. The shape of the controller is superior. The grips should always be “fanned” outwards. I find with the PS4 and Switch, my wrists cramp because they’re put in this awkward position. The Xbox puts my hand in a more natural position.
I wasn’t sure I was going to like the rounded buttons, but it’s no issue.
The one thing I hate... is why are the buttons (especially the D-Pad), so CLICKY!? It’s a loud controller and drives me a bit crazy. Especially if I’m playing in the morning when my boyfriend is still sleeping. Was the Xbox One as loud?
Played and beat it on Playstation... played a big chunk on Switch... and now I'm going to play it again on GamePass. This game hooked me on to JRPGs and the rest the whole Dragon Quest franchise. I LOVE it.
Oh shoot! I just got my Series X and I sold my PS4 physical copy of Mutant Year Zero. I also wanted to get into Wandersong... I guess I'll be playing that one tonight.
@Bartig I'm curious if you have had very finicky experiences with headsets? I was surprised that my Logitech G933 (with a USB Dongle) would not work with my Series X. I've tried two pairs of 3.5mm earbuds with mic, and the sound worked but not the mic.
Anyways... I ended up ordering the Arctis 7x because I want a headset that will also work with the PS5, when I eventually get one. I'm surprised the 7x wasn't mentioned in this article.
Although, I'm not in favour of a buyout... it would really benefit Microsoft to build better relations to bring more Japanese games to Xbox. It's the biggest reason I've always supported Playstation over the Xbox these past 15 years.

Re: Xbox Game Pass: All Games Coming Soon In June 2023
My grandma just passed yesterday. "Dordogne" could be a tearjerker for me.
Re: Talking Point: Do You Buy Less Third-Party Titles Because Of Xbox Game Pass?
I often buy more now. I wish all games had some kind of cross-save feature, because I must admit I usually buy them on Switch.

Oh wow. Your partner site Nintendo Life gave it a sparkling review.
Re: Pick One: What Was Your Favourite Xbox Game Pass Game In May?
I think I'm the 1% that voted for Citizen Sleeper. It's very good though but I can see how it is easily overlooked.

Is this from the same maker as Dicey Dungeon? If so, I'm 100% there for this.

I like the diversity of all three of these games. I'm stressed about finding time to check them all out.

Hesitantly excited for this. If NFT’s or any gross micro transactions get anywhere near this project, I’m out.

Nice to see a Canadian made game get some attention.

Re: Random: Xbox Fan Shares Concept For Improved Achievements Layout
That looks really good. I hope Xbox is watching.
I would like to add a Play Time to each game as well. I wish that was universal across all games and not left to the developer to implement it.
The 3DS had THE best play time tracker.

Re: Poll: Two Weeks On, Are You Happy With Your Xbox Series X|S?
Overall I'm very very happy. I never had an iteration of the Xbox One. So this all feels very new to me and GamePass is brilliant.
Honestly, if I had an Xbox One prior to this and was already experiencing GamePass, I may have felt like I easily could have waited on the Series X/S.
