Any hidden gems in here? I am not familiar with any of the games.
I haven't heard of most of these games.
Wow. 8 new games on Day One. I love GamePass!!!
Sable looks great and I’ll give Phoenix Point a go too. Not heard great things about Phoenix point but the guy who made it made one of my favourite games ever, X-Com UFO Defense. Not the modern dumbed down versions, although they’re okay. So I'll give it a chance.
@Fenbops Pheonix point on PC was just a broken mess. But the foundation was great for what it is. Here is hoping they fixed everything for the console release and possibly finally fix the PC version
@Terrin I’m just glad it’s on Gamepass, if it’s still a mess nothing lost. Wasn’t it meant to come out like a year ago on console also but was delayed? Hopefully they’ve ironed out a lot of the PC issues.
@Fenbops I think your right on the delayed console verison haven't followed it much. And yeah if it's a mess a quick uninstall
So the pc verison from my understanding got quite a bit of Patch's but the PC gamepass verison is still somewhat broken. (Was patched a bit just not as much so still has some issues)
Sable! 😍
@Bdbrady The first Subnautica was a little obtuse at first but wonderful once you got into it and already a cult classic.
I hear the sequel is good without being great.
Yes!! Superliminal! I knew holding out would pay off - Very excited to check that one out. Also Lemnis Gate looks like it could be fun.
Oh well looks like Hades for all of September as well then.
Subnautica was a brilliant game I played quite alot and I don't think I got that far lol...but people should defo play it....doesn't hold your hand very much
@Bdbrady Aragami 2
I have a taste for all things morbid so I read the twitter comments. Oddly enough those who are trying to downplay game pass also say "haven't heard of any of these". Just an observation
Oh, Below Zero is a nice get.
Also, Psychonaughts 2 came out just last month, next month is back 4 blood, then Forza, and then Halo. Phil said he wanted to get blockbuster titles on Gamepass every month while filling out the days with extra games. Seems to be going to plan. Sable and Aragami 2 are easily the big ones, the rest are titles you might never have played had it not been on Gamepass. Soon, very soon I hope, Xbox will be churning out first party games every month. At least that's the plan. Can't wait
13 games I'll all try. 12 games I would of never bought. Game Pass is truly amazing for a gamer like me. I am Fish looks amazing. Same with Sable. Same with Skate Bird.
Just started Subnautica last few nights, well impressed, so happy for the DLC. Sable and a few more getting a try too (Lemnis Fate, Superliminal, Lost Words, Aragami…)
I've never played the first Aragami, but I'm interested in the sequel. Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven is one of my favorite games of all time, and if Aragami 2 can capture the magic of that game, then I will have no doubt I'll love it.
Nice selection! Definitely some I want to check out here - Aragami 2, Lemnis Gate, Lost words beyond the page, and Subnautica Below Zero.
@Bdbrady superliminal is good if you havent played it before.
I backed the kickstarter for Phoenix Point, and have it on the Epic Store. Unfortunately when it released about a year ago, it was a bit buggy and so I decided to wait for it to land on the Xbox console. It has been updated considerably in the intervening period, and runs much better now. To be fair, the problems I had with the game when I played it weren't huge or game breaking, but there were enough that I decided to wait for the console release. Really looking forward to trying it again now that it is pretty much bug free.
Do we know which version we are getting on the GamesPass, @FraserG? Is it just the base game, or does it include all the DLC (of which there has been quite a bit)...?
Waiting for Astria Ascending!
I plan to test Aragami 2 and Lemnis Gate. But my main prioroty is wrapping up Psychonauts 2 and completing Operation 8 in Gears 5 before Back 4 Blood releases next month. Happy gaming everybody?
Astria Ascending and Sable for me I think out of this batch!
Some great looking games here, but I'd love some older AAA titles to be put on gamepass again, lots of 2020/2021 titles that I've been meaning to try but haven't gotten that good of a sale yet. The indie push is real 😣
@Bdbrady If you like stealth games then aragami is for you. Excited for this second one to come out, finished the first one sometime ago on my switch and it was great. The first one also had a coop so Im sure the second one will have it aswell
Yeah, anyone looking for a good JRPG should try out Astria Ascending. It has top tier talent behind it.
It is written by the guy who wrote Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy 7: Remake and the music is done by the composer for Final Fantasy XII and Vagrant Story to name but two of the talented bunch.
Also the world is vibrant and characters and animation are on point in my opinion. It is mainly going to appeal to turn based JRPG fans though.
Looking forward to Skatebird based on the name and premise alone. You're a Skateboarding Bird what more could you want?
Thank you, @John117. That's really helpful
@John117 yeah for sure, though I think microsoft currently don't really care much about the amount of money they throw at gamepass to get what they need. You bring up an interesting point though, going off of the fast decline in prices for AAA games these days, would you reckon it'd be cheaper for microsoft to get a year old AAA game on gamepass or a day one indie (not self published). And which one do you think would make them more money as well 🤔
Wow. I just can't keep up with the GamePass releases. I'm looking forward to SkateBird, Lost Words (I didn't even know this was coming, and I was going to buy this on Switch), Sable and Astria Ascending.
The GamePass portfolio is very diversified.
Off topic, I know, but it's really frustrating to see all these different smiley faces because I only know how to do two:
I've looked online, but I cannot see the right 'hieroglyphics' to do anymore...
at first sight Aragami 2, sable, Subnautica bellow zero and Lost Words: Beyond The Page are right up my ally
@Clankylad Did you check the radio in the escape pod? It guides you to everything you should need to get going.
