Re: Katamari Damacy Reroll Is Coming To Xbox One This November

BANJO

@InterceptorAlpha I mainly just get the Switch exclusive games now also...
To me it's the best option, Switch for the Nintendo exclusives plus the odd good third party game, then Xbox for the Microsoft exclusives (Halo/Gears/Forza/Fable) plus the multiplats...
I play 90% docked and use a Pro Controller, that has been fine for me so far.. Only use Joy Con's for occasional portable play and even then I play with them attached...

Re: Katamari Damacy Reroll Is Coming To Xbox One This November

BANJO

@K1LLEGAL
I believe it was exclusive to Gamestop in America...
However, there must be alot of copies as a quick check on UK Ebay (where I got my copy) has plenty for sale now as low as £21.58 for the physical Switch version delivered....
There is also quite a few other listings at around the same price, that would be the best bet if you want a physical Switch copy..

Re: Xbox Game Pass Model Wouldn't Make Financial Sense For PS5, Says CEO Jim Ryan

BANJO

It's basic maths... Currently Game Pass is no doubt (I would assume) losing Microsoft money, however there will be a tiping point on the subscriber count where it becomes profitable...
Be that 15 million, 20, 25 or 30 million subscibers... This is why it's on PC as it's another avenue to up the subscription base, a service across platforms..
Eventually if enough people sign up to the service it should make them money.. Then once this happens it's a regular profit stream (providing subscriber count dosen't then go down afterwards )...
There are other aspects which need to be carefully managed such as expense of adding the new games, keeping the quality or content up to a standard and the basic managing of the service/advertising for it etc...
It's a long game strategy and we all know Microsoft have deep pockets so can afford to do this, however they will want to be turning a profit at somepoint down the line no doubt...

Re: Reaction: Sony Just Boosted The Value Of Xbox Game Pass Even Further

BANJO

@Murray That's what I used earlier this year to get my 3 years of Game Pass Ultimate, works out less than £1 per week and you are all set.... (It's just over the cost of 2 new PS5 games for 3 years of access to 200+ games with EA games still yet to be added to the service) An amazing deal..
But as you say I don't see this promotion returning..

Re: Guide: How Does Storage Work On The Xbox Series S & X?

BANJO

@NEStalgia (Sorry for the late reply)

That's what sold me on the Xbox ecosystem too really, and why I have so many digital titles on my Xbox One... No doubt it is a step back in some ways, as even if a game loads a lot quicker the fact you may have to move it from HDD to SSD to actually play it takes away the convenience...
It's as you say "This gen feels like a loss-leading prototype war where next gen really fleshes out the tech."
Fleshing out the tech comes when SSD prices fall and methods such as streaming everything to be able to play a greater selection of titles is in place...
I think now the best thing which could come to Xbox/Game Pass would be the ability to stream the games as you say some kind of buffer SSDN to stream the assets to and cache them as you play...

Re: Guide: How Does Storage Work On The Xbox Series S & X?

BANJO

@NEStalgia I see where you are coming from, like you I have a lot of games playable quickly, roughly 280+ games on my OneX, can start any of them at a whim and switch between them easily...
Giving this up for next gen will not be easy..
Personally, I will not be there at launch as my backlog is huge and by the time I get further through it and ready to get a Series X I just hope SSD prices are less...
There is no solution to having everything playable at a whim going forwards with Series X, and certainly not at the launch. In someways it is a step back, especially for convenience..
Everyone will just have to get accustomed to moving games across from HDD to SSD and back again...

Re: Guide: How Does Storage Work On The Xbox Series S & X?

BANJO

@NEStalgia I agree, the cost of the SSD is great, especially in relation to the console cost, no getting around that. As you said you like to see all games at once and be able to play them easily. That's one of the things I will also greatly miss..
However, SSD prices should lower in time, prices should come down, everyone will just have to manage manage the storage effectively...
The worrying aspect is for those that don't know you can use HDD as a storage medium for the games next gen.....

Re: Guide: How Does Storage Work On The Xbox Series S & X?

BANJO

@NEStalgia That was my first response, but the way round it as the article suggests is to just connect your current HDD drive to use as storage for the Xbox Series S/X games and transfer them back and fourth to the SSD when you wish to play them..
Not ideal but you can keep costs down that way while just concentrating on a few titles at once...

Re: EA Play Joins Xbox Game Pass At No Extra Cost This Holiday

BANJO

That's massive news...
For someone with nearly 3 years of Game Pass Ultimate subscription left to have content added like this for free... It seem's too good to be true..
Just when I'm trying to cut down the amount of hard drive space I use for game downloads 🤣🤣

This must have cost Microsoft a pretty penny...

Re: Rumour: Could The Xbox Series X 1TB Expansion Card Be Upwards Of $200?!

BANJO

@BlueOcean Very true, every Xbox One game I have purchased I currently have installed either on the internal or external HDD...
Even with Game Pass games I struggle to delete them if there is a chance I will play them again...
I'm quite a late switcher to digital games compared to many, having only relatively recently got a Xbox One so I like to keep everything installed.
However, as you say, improvements in UI bringing the benefit of being able to clearly/quickly see all games installed or not should help combat the desire to have everything you own installed on the hard drive..
The ability to stream would basically negate this entirely...

Re: Rumour: Could The Xbox Series X 1TB Expansion Card Be Upwards Of $200?!

BANJO

@BlueOcean That's where the additional 512 SSD internal memory on Series X really shines over the Series S..
I suppose you may not even need to buy a 1TB SSD for a while that way or technically ever if you were happy to just swap the games across...

Edit - This really makes me hope the additional feature coming to Game Pass is the ability to stream the games...

Re: Rumour: Could The Xbox Series X 1TB Expansion Card Be Upwards Of $200?!

BANJO

Whoa... I thought this might be the case...
(Conversion rate = £170.00 for 1TB)
You would need one of these from launch, especially with the Series S packing only 512SSD. So suddenly the cost of entry to next gen is well over £400 as realistically you could only download a few titles at most to the Series S hard drive...
I hope it's not true...

Re: Leaked Xbox Series S Reveal Trailer Confirms 120FPS Support, 512GB SSD

BANJO

@ralphdibny Think of it as an entry point to next gen, it's a Game Pass machine which plays next gen games at a scaled back quality...
Benefit over One X is while Series S is not much more powerful it will play the next gen games, One X won't.
I'm seriously thinking about it as my gaming time is split between this, my Switch, and my work.
It might just be good enough for me...
Edit - Only issue's are the small SSD for me, and also I still like the odd physical game..

Re: Leaked Xbox Series S Reveal Trailer Confirms 120FPS Support, 512GB SSD

BANJO

@FraserG I thought that might be an issue.
Hmm, so it would still work for Xbox One games so would cover everything up to now..
In that case I could still connect it to the Series S play everything I did on my One X and just use another Custom SSD for everything next gen going forwards....
I presume two hard drives can be connected??
That really world be doing next gen on the cheap...
