If you have been watching Phil Spencer participate in video interviews from his home in recent months, it means you technically already saw the Xbox Series S well before its official reveal this week, you just didn't realise it at the time.
According to the Xbox Twitter account, he's had one hidden away on his bookshelf since the beginning of July.
One of the main selling points of this system is that it's the smallest Xbox ever. It's so small, in fact, it seems you can place it on a bookshelf and nobody will even notice it!
iJustine - one of the many people who interviewed Phil around this time, noted how she didn't spot it herself:
Well played, Phil. Did the Xbox Series S ever catch your eye during any of his video interviews? Tell us down below.

Really sneaky Phil
Now this is some next-level ๐ฅ. Goes to show how tiny the console actually is.
Great Easter Egg Phil. Well played
Thats brilliant
Haha... Now that's Sneaky..
Very casual Phil.
To be fair how would someone notice it if nobody knew what it looked like, especially if itโs placed where nobody would put one.
Fair enough if it was straight on so you could see the black dot because most people would have just assumed it was a speaker
@WesEds It doesn't help that the xbox series design is literally just 'featureless square block'.
And then complains about it 'leaking'??
Well, some people will find reasons to complain even about the littlest things (pun not intended) when it's clear that it was just a funny gesture since it wasn't connected to the TV. I, for one, love how nice and friendly Phil is ๐.
Feels like I just read about an Easter egg in one of Pixarโs movies. ๐
Well played Phil. Well played. ๐
You can tell he knows that we'll never know it's there even though it's technically in full view. Would've been funnier if the 'speaker' was shown with a radio placed next to it.
It looks like a speaker.
That magnificent [email protected]$tard!
This was a pretty awesome trick by Ol' Phil!
Of course no one noticed, nobody outside of MS knew what it looked like!
Hmm, I STILL don't see it. Just some white box that does not resemble Series S.
It looks like it's a side view of it, which makes no sense. Why would he store it on it's face/back either blocking the power button or blocking the back ports? If that really is it, we really wouldn't know what we're looking at anyways because what good is a side view.
