Re: Soapbox: 'Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3' Is Actually A Pretty Great Mario Kart Alternative On Xbox

BANJO

@Banjo- Yes, Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled really is the best alternative to Mario Kart out there. The graphics also are as you say a step up from the Switch version. I also got Crash 4 and the Spyro Trilogy in the digital sale even though I own them on Switch.
While the Switch versions are good considering the hardware (solid ports technically) the Xbox versions really shine graphically in comparison.
At this point I probably will no longer get any further Switch ports if the games on Xbox I will just get it there instead.
Switch purchases going forwards are now just for the exclusive Nintendo games and the odd exclusive third party game..
Kirby, Zelda, Fire Emblem and Metroid 4 if it ever sees the light of day for me in 2023 on Switch, plus the Mario Kart dlc.
Just looking for Microsoft to get it's act together with it's exclusives now for 2023.
Next year they need to step it up a notch...

Re: Xbox Fans Left Disappointed With Lack Of First-Party Reveals At The Game Awards 2022

BANJO

@FatalBubbles I just extended my subscription to Gamepass for 3 years just last week.. 🤣
So I'm all in, now just hoping things improve.
It's good that alot if fans are complaining about Microsofts output.
Hopefully it pushes them to raise their game..
2023 needs to be a year that we finally see the fruits for all these dev acquisitions take effect. (It's about time 😏)

Re: Many Studios Are Struggling With Xbox Series S Requirements, Claims Developer

BANJO

@Dezzy70 Yes, that's certainly the worry, having to cater to the Series S seems to be restricting the Series X. Problem is, it will only get worse. If it's such an issue now, 2+ years down the line it will only be a bigger problem..
Bizarre position for Microsoft to be in, the Series S sales wise has done them proud, but going forwards it will likely hamper game development for Series X.

Re: Warner Bros Reveals Why Gotham Knights Will Be 30FPS On Xbox Series X|S

BANJO

My bet is that the game has been made to run on Xbox One and PS4 even though those versions were canned late in the development cycle... So we are getting a game released only on current gen yet still held back by last gen...
I think after canning the last gen versions they haven't reworked the game one jot to run solely on PS5 and Series S/X as it would take more time/money etc...

Re: Reaction: Will Xbox Follow PlayStation In Raising Console Prices?

BANJO

No, I don't think Microsoft will follow. Series X sales are slipping here in the UK, plenty of stock on shelves now, also the same for many other countries too. I would keep the same price and advertise in markets where the stock is sitting on shelves to try to capitalise on this..
But will Microsoft do this?? Probably not.

Re: Elon Musk Says There's 'No Value' In Another Gaming Console

BANJO

Regarding Switch it may not be a PS5 or Xbox Series X but it's worked out the gate and continues to do so. 110+ Million sales, and still the number 1 seller worldwide on a weekly basis..
The proof is in the basic numbers, undeniable massive and profitable success..
For those who argue with stock problems for PS5/Xbox Series X etc... That's not Nintendos problem, it's Sonys and Microsofts problem.
Certainly intrigued for Nintendos next console..

Re: Xbox Series X And S Console Sales Up Year-On-Year In Europe

BANJO

@Dezzy70 The slow down is very real certainly. What with (finally) increased supply means all of a sudden stock is sitting on shelves. Switch games physically continue to perform above expectations generally. It's longevity is amazing.
As you say Microsoft have no exclusive momentum, which is true.
As for messing it up however, Microsoft have the deepest pockets so if they see a vision they want they can make it happen... The ball is in their court, it just depends how much they care..

Re: Xbox Series X And S Console Sales Up Year-On-Year In Europe

BANJO

@uptownsoul Demand in the UK has certainly now lessened to the supply of stock available.
I think it's because of a few things, it's summer so people are out alot more doing other things than gaming. Cost of living crisis certainly plays a part. Game delays and a increased supply of stock mean the stock has now caught up with the demand.
I know someone who works in Game, he said they have 45+ Series X in stock. They are selling roughly 3/4 a day but are due some more next week. So stock is plentiful but the demand is waning..
Also a worrying thing he said is that as third party games physically sell poorly on Xbox due to many being on Gamepass they were looking at reducing the shelf space for physical Xbox games...

Re: Xbox Series X And S Console Sales Up Year-On-Year In Europe

BANJO

Good to hear that sales are up, but there is plenty of stock. Game sent me an email this morning stating 2 free months of Gamepass Ultimate free with every Series X or S purchase... That means they have stock they need to shift if they are adding in for free the Gamepass..
I think sales are certainly slowing..
It's not a good sign that they are adding in free extras but good if your still wanting to get a Series X

Re: These Games Are Coming To Xbox Next Week (June 13-17)

BANJO

TNMT: Shredder's Revenge I was looking at picking up regardless, so to have this day one on Gamespass is great 👍
Redout 2 also interests me, I have the first with all the DLC and have put many hours in.
So providing the sequel is good I'll likely get it.

Re: Xbox One Is Probably Here To Stay, Whether We Like It Or Not

BANJO

It's a gradual switch across to Series X/S.
The pandemic has slowed the transition with development times and stock shortages.
However, It's happening, I think the road map for Xbox One will be roughly like this from now on:
2022 (from now)
Majority of games released on both gens with odd the Series X/S exclusive.
2023
Many Series X/S exclusive games released but still a solid amount of Xbox One versions of games also released on established Series games but seriously taping off near 2023 end to a trickle.
2024
Very few Xbox One games released bar Sports titles/Movie tie ins etc. (5 -10 all year)
2025
Xbox One gets It's last Fifa equivalent and a Just Dance Game 🤣 (2 - 3 games all year)

What will keep Xbox One more relevant regardless is the Cloud option.
Providing you have relatively good Internet many next gen only games will work fine on Xbox One.
This could mean it's feisably possible to go through the whole of next gen or current gen on a base Xbox One just fine, especially if you are only a very casual gamer...

Re: Reaction: Bethesda Delays Make June's Showcase Even More Important For Xbox

BANJO

If Microsoft had planned to increase the price of Gamepass Ultimate they can safely put that thought to bed in my view....

No Redfall and Starfield in 2022 = No Gampass Ultimate price increase.

Otherwise they will be receiving headlines such as "forever delays games but increases prices"...

Not a good look 🤣

The upcoming presentation as I said when it was first mentioned needs more than flashy trailers.
Put simply, we need solid release dates..
The generation at 18 months in needs release dates at this point, let's see if they can deliver.

I hope this strong backlash will stir Microsoft into action.. Phil apparently says he's heard the feedback, only time will tell.
