All the way back in 1997, developer Cyan Worlds (then known as Cyan Productions) released the highly-anticipated follow-up to 1995's Myst in the form of Riven, and it's been cited by Cyan since then as the best-selling PC game of '97.

Now, almost three decades on, the beloved puzzle game is finally getting an Xbox version on May 19th (the same day as Forza Horizon 6's release), coming to Series X, Series S and PC with Xbox Play Anywhere support.

This is also a significantly updated version of the 1997 original, described as a "brand-new, re-imagined and expanded version" complete with free movement and "new captivating visuals". It's essentially a remake that first released on PC back in 2024, where it holds a "Very Positive" rating on Steam.

"Experience Riven like never before - with free movement through a real-time 3D environment. This brand-new, re-imagined, and expanded version of Riven offers a deeper story, new captivating visuals, and a journey that stays true to the original release while also expanding on Riven’s breathtaking world."

If you're wondering about Myst, the new version of that game is actually already out on Xbox, having released back in 2021. However, it's also expanding to PS5 and PS VR 2 on May 19th as well.

For those who are interested in grabbing Riven on Xbox, it's already available to pre-order on the Xbox Store with a 20% discount, bringing it down to £23.39 / $27.99. We'll leave you with more details and screenshots for it down below.
