Re: Xbox Is Questioning Fans About PS5 Game 'Ghost Of Yotei' In New Survey

I wish both MS and Sony would take a page out of Nintendo's playbook. Nintendo knows they can't make all the games they want by themselves and so partners with other companies such as Bamco for Smash and so on. Heck, Capcom made 3 Zelda games. I wish we could have, let's say get a new Jak and Daxter and maybe get a remake of Banjo Kazooie developed by a partner studio. But alas, that's but a dream

@TrollOfWar Thanks for the data. Always good to get a price on this sort of thing.
But I guess I wasn't clear enough. It's not about being profitable or not. It's about how profitable it is.
Example: Let's say it cost them $2M to port the game and $500k for marketing and the like. They technically need $2.5M to break even. But how much profit did they expect and how quickly? If they expected $20M in profit in the first quarter of sales, $10M in the first year, or $50M in six months, they are all vastly diffenrent scenarios and some can make the project be a success while others can make it seem like a failure.

I think Sony expected higher numbers on PC and that didn't happen.
I can see them making money with some games on Xbox, but I think they'd be fools to ignore the Switch 2. Like it or not, it's on track to surpass 100M. Something it seems Xbox will unfortunately never do.

@Banjo- I appreciate it, and I've done that, buuuuuut it's only a parcial list. Putting the email side by side with the store, shows a bunch of titles on sale missing, unfortunately.
Another issue is that since I moved I switched everything in my account to the new region, but the email still shows prices from the old one.
It would be an easy fix. Heck, even Nintendo has this on the Switch 2

@Millionski Sure. There's was a leak from Insomniac a couple of years ago. They hacked and got a bunch of stuff from upcoming projects, emails, budgets, sales, etc.
Part of it was about 100M for licensing fees to Marvel, for a single game. If memory serves, that fee was high because of the exclusivity.
According to their numbers, the games were still highly profitable, but that's a really high fee indeed.

Both Sony and MS announce games too early. Sony's E3 2015 was amazing because it had games releasing up to 2020. But that's the thing, they did eventually release. Even Concord saw the light of day, even if for just a couple of weeks.
But I'm gonna be sour about Perfect Dark for a good looooong while. And all these cancellations do have my confidence on a low setting about Xbox 1st party games actually coming out.
It's a shame that the gen I finally got an Xbox, it's going to be used mostly as a backwards compatibility machine + some periods of GPU
