Microsoft Announces Fan Feedback Program 'XBOX Player Voice', And It's Now Live

Since stepping into the role, Xbox boss Asha Sharma has been keen to gather more fan feedback as she begins to shape the future of the brand, and that's now resulted in a new 'XBOX Player Voice' program being announced by Microsoft.

Unveiled today via Xbox Wire, XBOX Player Voice is "a new place to collect your feedback and make it more visible". It's a forum of sorts, where you can submit your feedback to Team Green about what you want to see moving forward.

Here are the four clear steps outlined in the blog post:

  • Share feedback on your experience with XBOX
  • See when your feedback has been received and reviewed
  • Follow updates if and when there’s progress to report
  • Get a clearer sense of how your input is shaping the future of XBOX

Microsoft does make it clear that "this doesn’t mean every piece of feedback will turn into a feature or result in a change" - but Sharma & co. want to have a more considered, organised and effective way of gathering fan feedback outside of social media platforms and the like.

"When you submit feedback, teams review and organize it so it can be understood and considered alongside other work. In some cases, ideas will move forward. In others, they may take longer to implement or may not be something we can act on. When there are meaningful updates, we’ll share them.

We’re starting small and will learn as we go. That means the experience will evolve over time as we see what’s useful and where we can do better. This is a step toward making that process more open and easier to follow."

Xbox says that this new program — which is now live and has plenty of fan suggestions already — will phase out the 'XBOX Cloud Gaming feedback portal', but the following channels will still be monitored alongside XBOX Player Voice:

  • XBOX Insider Hub for testing and bugs
  • Support forums for help and troubleshooting
  • Social channels for ongoing conversation
