Xbox Is Giving Away Free Gift Cards To Celebrate Spring 2026

It's that time again! Xbox has been giving out free gift cards to a bunch of people to celebrate Spring 2026, and although not everyone is eligible, it seems a decent number of Xbox users have been getting them.

Even I got one this time! Last night, I received a message from Xbox informing me of a £4 Xbox Gift Card that was attached to my account as a "Spring Gift". Here's another example of someone in the US getting a $5 Xbox Gift Card:

To check if you've been lucky enough, you'll want to follow these instructions:

1. Turn on your Xbox console
2. Press the guide button on your controller (the big Xbox logo)
3. Scroll across to "Parties & Chats"
4. Go to down to Chats
5. See if there's anything in there from "Xbox" that looks the same as the image above

Alternatively, if you go to the Microsoft Store app and then scroll up to your gamertag on the left-hand side, you should see a section called "Offers & Credits" — if there's an Xbox Gift Card for you to redeem, it should be located in here.

As you can see from the image above, it seems the "Spring Gift" was actually issued at the start of the month (at least in my case), but it's been hidden away in the Offers & Credits section until now. It was only last night that Xbox officially started messaging people to let them know about their free Xbox Gift Card.

So, did you get a gift card this time, or weren't you lucky enough? Xbox never explains exactly who is eligible for these, so it always feels very random, but we're hopeful at least some members of the Pure Xbox community received one!
