The folks over at Square Enix have put out a progress report today on the "medium-term business plan" for the company, and it includes a small tease of what's planned for the future in terms of a roadmap.
One slide mentions how Square Enix is in the midst of a three-year "rebooting" plan, with notable upcoming releases including Octopath Traveler 0, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined and The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales.
After those titles have launched, they don't want to talk about specific games right now, but apparently we're going to see "several large-scale titles" based around "key IPs" that will then become consistent from FY2028/3 onwards. It's also mentioned how the company is trying to shift from "quantity to quality".

Elsewhere in the report, there's a greater focus on the company's multi-platform strategy:
Beyond this, one of the parts of the report that's getting media coverage today revolves around Square Enix's desire for "70% of QA and debugging tasks in game development" to be automated by the end of 2027. The company is working with the Matsuo Laboratory at the University of Tokyo to try and improve the "efficiency of game development processes through AI technologies".
You can go and check out the progress report for yourself for even more details, and don't forget we've already been promised multiple Final Fantasy games on Xbox recently - FF7 Remake in January, and Rebirth and Part 3 in the future.
