Ubisoft has been at it with its back catalogue recently, upgrading the likes of Far Cry 3, The Division and more to play at 60FPS on modern consoles. It doesn't sound like the team is planning to stop there either, as Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson suggests that more of the company's classics could get performance boosts in the coming months.
Speaking on a recent episode of Insider Gaming Weekly and shared by our friends at Push Square, Henderson says that he believes older Assassin's Creed titles could be next in-line for 60FPS patches, with 2014's AC Unity potentially coming first.
Of course, Ubisoft's third-person action series has already seen its own set of upgrades in recent years - with Syndicate, Origins and Odyssey now playable at 60FPS on Xbox Series X and S. Combined with Microsoft's FPS Boost program, most of the series is already playable at higher frame rates, but future patches would make those performance upgrades native (and with potential visual boosts) rather than relying on the now-dormant Xbox Series feature.
For now this is just a rumour, and it's probably best waiting to hear from Ubisoft before taking more 60FPS upgrades to the bank. We certainly hope they happen though; Far Cry 3 Classic Edition looks and plays fantastic with its native patch compared to the older 360 version through FPS Boost.
