Following Xbox and Playground's latest look at Fable, we learned that the upcoming RPG is launching day one on PS5 - and if the first Sony-hosted trailer is anything to go by, that could be a pretty shrewd move by Microsoft.

In the wake of Fable showing up at Xbox Developer Direct, PlayStation uploaded the title's new gameplay teaser to its YouTube channel. This was the first slice of the Fable reboot shared directly by the PS5 maker, and it's racked up one million views in just a few days.

Fable Likely To Be A Huge Hit On PS5 As Sony-Hosted Trailer Hits 1 Million Views11

We've chucked the brief trailer up above to show this off, and if you compare that to the Xbox-hosted trailer, you're looking at around double the views for the PlayStation upload thus far. In our experience, Sony trailers do tend to show up quicker and more prominently when you search within YouTube, but still, this is a pretty impressive number for a series that's never been on PlayStation before.

As we previously mentioned, Fable is coming day and date to the Sony platform this year, but we're not exactly sure when that is right now. Xbox and Playground have simply said 'Autumn 2026' so far, with a more specific launch date set to arrive in the coming months. You can bet your bottom dollar that Microsoft wants to give this game its best chance to succeed - including avoiding something like, oh we don't know, a big game called GTA 6 perhaps?

So, will Fable be a big hit on PS5, do you think? Talk to us about it down below.
