Five New Xbox Games Are Releasing Today, Including One Of The Highest-Rated Games Of 2026 1

Welcome back to another daily roundup of all the games coming to Xbox on September 9.

It's a relatively quiet one today folks, but leading the charge nonetheless is the 1.0 release of Valheim, a Norse-themed survival adventure that launches out of Early Access today and is already receiving incredible reviews.

IGN gave the game a 10/10, claiming "Valheim is the oath of the ultimate survival crafting adventure fulfilled", with the game currently sitting at a massive 90 rating on Metacritic. That puts it in joint-fourth of 2026's best games. Crazy stuff!

So, here's what launching on Xbox today (September 9):

Valheim: Deep North (Version 1.0)

Slain in battle, you have been carried to the tenth world. Here, in Valheim, you must conquer the realm and slay the monsters which Odin banished here long ago. Explore deep forests and freezing mountains, and build new settlements on the other side of vast seas – and gain the Allfather’s favour to become worthy of Valhalla! A brutal exploration and survival game for 1-10 players, set in a procedurally-generated purgatory inspired by viking culture. Battle, build, and conquer your way to a saga worthy of Odin’s patronage.

  • Toro 2 (September 9): "Toro 2 is a third-person 3D bullfighting simulator that lets you, in its Career Mode, step into the shoes of a bullfighter on his rise to stardom. Travel the world facing the fiercest fighting bulls, avoid getting caught by them, and you’ll become a star in the world of bullfighting."
