All I know is that if Halo, Gears, etc come out for the Switch 2 and are actually put on cartridge, I'll buy them again for the historical irony alone

@Kaloudz I can see why the press release side of things would impact you when acting on that capacity. But for the other 99% of people watching the events, it's all the same thing really as during the presentations it's all the same thing. It can deduce one thing or another, sure (like Patapon also being on PS5), but for most stuff you just find out afterwards if you look it up

It would be absolutely hilarious if on April 2nd the Switch got a new Mario game announced as well as getting games from Xbox such as Indy + a game from Sony such as Spider-Man

I know this game is not everyone's cup of tea, but I loved it! I think it's well deserved to get all these nominations.

@Kaloudz I wouldn't know. On the 360 and One I was just aware of the bigger titles. I've only joined the Xbox family with the Series S in 2022.
Also, my region is set for Brazil, so even games and DLC available elsewhere are currently beyond my reach. I can't buy the DLC for Force Unleashed for instance, but I can buy the game. So weird

The Switch is far older and had no big new games so far in 2025. As for the other two, shameful showing

I can totally see Sony putting some games on the Switch 2. I can't even imagine how much Spider-Man and Horizon could sell over there. On Xbox I can see much more resistance, but Xbox games are selling well on PS and they could eventually drop their guard.

What I don't see is Nintendo changing their tune. If anything, they'll benifit so much this upcoming gen of their, they'll be set.

@Rog-X Nintendo is not one to aquire studios left and right, and when they do, they usually have a long relationship with them.
As for Sony... I don't think smaller studios were in their radar back then and to some extent even now, unfortunately.

Alas, it was the best gen for many as all consoles sold well enough, but a part from the DS, they all sold much more closely to one another than any other gen.

@abe_hikura How will it get this game out of the way of another game that doesn't have a release date besides 2025?
Also, given Sony's track record, the offical date for Ghost of Yotei will likely be revealed 4 or 5 months before the game releases, so they'll be pretty far apart.

@Balaam_ I can see that working for most of Sony's offerings (Vita excluded). But the Switch was a brand new format. I cannot see a feasible way of making any Nintendo physical media playable on the Switch or the Switch 2

I got mine today. R$30 (almost $5).
I'll chip away little by little. The only one I'm sure I'll play soon is Sonic 3D Blast. I still have my original MD copy, but I've never beaten it. Now's my chance

I tried playing the remake of the first game for the 360, but really REALLY didn't like the gameplay. It even turned me off to trying the sequels. But this new one I'll give a try once it releases

I want to be excited for Judas, but I was once excited for Bioshock Infinite.

I work two jobs on the PC already, so when I wanna have fun, that's as far from it as possible. I really hope we get a console version.

Also, Xbox, please put AoE2 on the "Switch 2". I have both AoE games on the DS and it would be a great game on the go on top of expanding my very weird AoE physical collection lol

My move will likely happen in mid-December, so I won't be playing day one because of that. But it feels like the right game for the holiday break

And it's not as if Sony developed games aren't on Xbox. Sure, the MLB forced their hand, but getting a Sony developed game day one on Game Pass is fun to see.

I remember a time where Sonic on Nintendo was impossible. Crash outside PS was impossible. Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest were Nintendo only. Things can change. Just don't hold your breath.

If the game runs well on the Switch, portability wins for me. But depending on price or performance, I buy it on Xbox.
Once I move to a civilized country, I will have easier access to physical media of smaller games for decent prices, so my PS library will get a boost as well.
Both my Switch and Xbox stores are Brazilian, but Sony won't let me change the region of my account from the US and the price difference is quite big, unfortunately.

@NEStalgia I don't doubt it. But I've actually never seen an OG Xbox in person not any of the controllers. They were not very popular in Brazil (at least not where I lived).
On a sidenote, I had a Mega Drive (Genesis) and never knew the Saturn existed until I read about it on a magazine that was covering SEGA exiting the console business.

I'm playing the following trilogy at the moment, but great to see they really want to make these games easily available again.

Dream: a collection with the GBC, GBA and DS games.

Given how much the Switch has sold so far and for how long it's been selling, I'd say it's about time that happened. It just won't last, I imagine, since all three are dropping numbers YOY and the "Switch 2" will launch next year, Xbox will be back in #3 rather soon

For those prices I'd rather just keep managing my Series S' storage

I believe Xbox will eventually get the last 3 big ones (XVI, VIIRm and VII Rb). What I'm curious to see is when Xbox will get XVII in relation to PS and maybe even Nintendo

@Darude84 I don't know. It doesn't sound like Sony to just do something like that, because it's not a small cut, it's 30%. The same 30% they take. So either they'd make no money or devs are getting screwed twice. I think there's more to this

@Darude84 are you sure they have to? Sony has the store on their app. The app is severely lacking, but you can add currency and spend it there.

Bold of them to assume there is one at the moment. This is my first gen having an Xbox and while I still love my Series S and play it almost daily, a clearer vision for the company would go a long way to have me invest more $ into the Xbox ecossystem

I always knew this would be the case. It was the same thing with Club Nintendo. People loved to complain about it, but once it was gone...

I can see 7 Remake launching simultaneaously on "Switch 2" and Series. Pixel Remaster is out everywhere else, so it could still come this year. FF XVI Complete Edition we may get in 2026 then 7 Rebirth in 2027, with the thought they will want to space the releases.
But the main question is... will Xbox get Forspoken?

@HeavyHoggJP I get GPU once I have enough points from the rewards program. Otherwise I play some other games I got on sale. I've already got a Switch and a PS4 as more modern consoles, not counting older ones I still play such as the DS, 3DS and the Wii.
So GPU is amazing, but I do my best to keep the variety going.
Right now I'm playing Quantum Break on my Series S. I could've played it via GPU, but if I finish it this weekend, it will have taken me 3 weeks to finish it. Which is great because I actually bought for about half the price of a month of GPU

Long time reader and I believe second time poster. I've only had my Series S for just over two years and it's my first Xbox, so I have a lot to play to bring myself up to date.
As far as Gears go, I've only played 1 and 2, but I hope to play at least 3 and Judgement before E-Day releases.
I've been fairing better with Halo (especially 'cause I thought it appropriate that the first game I played on my first Xbox be Halo 1. On the Halo front I'm "only" missing 4, 5, Infinite and both Wars games.
