Rumour: Halo 2 & 3 Remakes Are Coming After Halo: Campaign Evolved

With Halo: Campaign Evolved's announcement now out in the wild, it's only natural to think about what else Halo Studios is cooking up as part of its new multi-game plan - and a new rumour suggests that the team could be moving onto more Halo remakes.

As shared by social media account Halo Leaks — which has got certain rumours right in the past — "Halo 2 & Halo 3 are being remade" as "no multiplayer, only campaign" titles. The two remakes will supposedly have a sprint mechanic too, much like the new option Halo Studios is adding to Campaign Evolved.

As you can see in the above tweet there, it's suggested that the next mainline Halo game is where multiplayer will be present - which is something we've heard rumours on before. It's likely that Halo Studios doesn't want to split its online player base between that project and any remakes, which if true certainly makes sense.

There doesn't appear to be any extra context added to this rumour post for now, even if the account seems quite certain of this plan for the future of Halo. It's definitely worth taking this with a huge pinch of salt for now then, at least until Halo Studios confirms these projects. Halo: Campaign Evolved is coming on the series' 25th anniversary next year, and if the team plans to do the same with Halo 2 and Halo 3, those could launch in 2029 and 2032, respectively. That's pure conjecture for now though!

Grab your tubs of salt and discuss this rumour down in the comments below.
