We're sure you've already heard about the codename for Xbox's next console by now — "Project Helix" — and although the console itself won't be in developers' hands until next year, Xbox is clearly trying to build hype for it this year.
The latest example of this is a bunch of free "Project Helix" branded merch that's being given away as part of special gift packages. A few content creators based in the US have been showing this off, as you can see down below:
The package includes a card that's signed by new Xbox boss and Microsoft Gaming CEO Asha Sharma, along with a thank you message for "being on the journey with us." The merch itself looks pretty nice as well!
With Xbox so actively promoting Project Helix right now, could we be seeing more of it in the near future? There's always the Xbox Games Showcase in June, of course, and even if we don't get a look at the actual device itself, perhaps Xbox will want to tell us more about how it'll combine console and PC to deliver such a powerful next-gen system.
It does seem like the 25th anniversary of Xbox on November 15th would be a great time to actually unveil the look of the console ahead of a potential release in late 2027, but in any case, it sounds like we'll be hearing more about Project Helix sooner rather than later. Next-gen is definitely on the horizon, folks!
