Talking Point: What Should Xbox Call Its 'Project Helix' Console?

With details slowly starting to trickle out about Project Helix and Microsoft's next generation plans, we've begun thinking about what the team may end up calling its next-gen Xbox console once the Project Helix codename is presumably retired.

This is always an interesting topic with Xbox because, well... they're not exactly known for common sense naming conventions, are they? So far in the platform's history, we've gone from Xbox to Xbox 360 to Xbox One to Xbox Series; all of which don't make that much sense when you actually think about them, OG Xbox aside. Where does Microsoft go from here?

When Microsoft first started talking about new hardware a year or two ago now, we had thought about them potentially going with something like 'Xbox Home' and/or 'Xbox Portable' - but with their own handheld console put on the backburner and the whole 'This is an Xbox' mantra seemingly going away, that might not be the best route now.

A recent discussion at the PX offices also led us to thinking about Xbox combining its next-gen console naming with Game Pass; potentially going with something like 'Xbox Ultimate' for this high-end device we know about, and maybe even 'Xbox Premium' for if they decided to build another Xbox Series S equivalent. This was just an off-the-cuff idea, but it's something worth pondering - and would match up with Xbox Game Pass quite nicely!

Having said all that, these suggestions seem a bit too obvious for Microsoft to genuinely consider them, so what bonkers idea do you think the team will come up with next? Will they stick with the 'Series' naming in some way? Will they go for something completely left field?

Give us some suggestions for what Microsoft could call its next-gen Xbox down below!
