The good folks over at GameSir have unveiled their latest Xbox controller today in the form of the Tarantula Pro, which is already been available for some other platforms for a while, but now has its own dedicated Xbox & PC version.
The Tarantula Pro is described as "the best Xbox controller in symmetry" by GameSir, featuring the latest GameSir Mag-Res™ TMR sticks, dual-mode trigger stops, four rumble motors, nine reprogammable buttons, Micro Switch ABXY buttons, Dynamic RBG lighting and the ability to customise things like vibration levels and personalised profiles via the GameSir Nexus software on both Xbox and PC.
Here are some of the "key features", along with descriptions for a few of them:
- Wired Symmetric Esports Controller Designed for Xbox
- The Anti-Stick Drift Solution: GameSir Mag-Res™ TMR Sticks
"The Tarantula Pro for Xbox is equipped with the latest GameSir Mag-Res™ TMR sticks, blending the precise performance and low power consumption of standard sticks with the exceptional durability of Hall Effect sticks. This innovative technology ensures a higher and more stable polling rate, offering gamers a smoother, instantaneous, and anti-drift gaming experience like never before." - Dual-Mode Trigger Stops: Hall Effect Analog/Micro Switch
"The Tarantula Pro for Xbox features dual-mode trigger stops, letting you switch effortlessly between Hall Effect analog triggers and micro switch triggers. Precision-tuned Hall Effect analog triggers deliver smooth, linear input for accurate control, while clicky micro switch triggers provide instant response. Whether you need precise linear control or ultimate responsiveness, it gives you the competitive edge." - Nine Remappable Programmable Buttons
- Realistic and Subtle Vibration
"The Tarantula Pro for Xbox features a total of four rumble motors, with one in each grip and trigger, providing immersive and realistic vibration feedback. Additionally, the two asymmetric actuators in the grips enhance the realism of the vibrations, ensuring that every small crash or shot is felt in your hands as if it were happening on the spot." - Motion Control on PC
- Micro Switch ABXY Buttons
- Dynamic RGB Lighting
- Software Customization via GameSir Nexus
You do get a couple of major extra benefits when playing on PC as well — the first is up to a 1000Hz polling rate, delivering "esports-grade responsiveness", while the other is access to motion controls via a built-in 6-axis gyroscope.
The Tarantula Pro for Xbox & PC probably best suits people who are going to use it across both systems, then, and it's also worth noting that this is a purely wired controller (GameSir already has wireless alternatives like the G7 Pro).
If you're interested, pre-orders are now live on the GameSir website for £79.99 / $109.00, and the controller is set to ship in June 2026. We'll leave you with a few extra images of it down below:

Not true wireless, has those wonky back buttons right where my fingers rest, those suck, no haptic feedback, too small and way overpriced. That's a no sir to GameSir. Where's my refund for my Elite 2 being garbage out of the box and where's the new controllers we were promised MS?
I think they made a mistake. The left analog stick is in the wrong place. We're supposed to be moving forward, not backwards.
I really, genuinely dislike in-line sticks on controllers. That’s the one advantage the Xbox controller has over the PlayStation one, I don’t know why you’d want to negate that advantage.
Gamesir's click triggers have registering issues. I've replaced mine twice. Buyer beware. And offset is king!
@RegnumSolipsi
That was my first thought too, after seeing the images 😅.
symmetry ??? why ? Nope ! I’m too used to the comfort of asymmetric controllers. I even found an old study showing that performance is better with asymmetric controllers: https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-030-74614-8_70
And various Reddit polls also show that most players prefer asymmetric controllers.
That is a horrendous looking controller.
Honestly, it seems a lot less ergonomic than the official controller. Still, I think it’s great that there are options to suit everyone’s tastes.
If anyone wants to try a controller from this brand, the G7 Pro is fantastic.
@Sol4ris
Honestly the only thing stopping me from going over to Playstation is the controller. If Sony were to release an official controller with Asymmetrical analogs, I think they would see a large surge of players from the Xbox side. Hoping Xbox can get it together before it's too late, but I'm still not overly confident about putting the AI lady in charge in an industry that is notoriously anti-AI.
@RegnumSolipsi you can buy asymmetrical controllers for the PS5. Likewise you can buy symmetrical for Series X.
News of a new Xbox compatible controller: That’s nice !
Seeing the stick placement: No thanks.
I knew a guy once who had a perfectly symmetrical face. It was off-putting.
@Katiecooh There's no official asymmetrical controller for PS5.
None of the asymmetrical controllers on ps5 have speakers. I have to admit that I find the speakers a fun gimmick.
