There will be no Xbox consoles games next generation, the new console will run the PC version download version for the full experience.
Additionally don’t bank on the new Xbox hybrid device to run series x games and further back downloaded, it could well be streaming only for older games.
And you want them downloaded you may have to use the PC version.

The above is the questions that are hanging over the new Xbox hybrid device and some of us sitting on the fence are waiting answers on those from Xbox.
The painful thing they know the answers and just won’t say to keep us hanging on.

Total waste of time to me.
Specification way too low, series x has it beaten hands down let alone the PS5 Pro.

We want more power not less.
Perhaps they should rename it Switch 3.

The one and only GPU, stacked until March 2027.

To the point as ever.
Also I think we will almost have cross generation games for probably the entire next generation era.
Mainly due to your point about diminishing returns from PS5 to PS6 helping that situation.
I think this generation COD and FIFA are still cross generation in 2025.

The what I call true console generations are almost gone apart from Nintendo doing their own thing.

Totally agree and I think Xbox are slacking on switch 2 ports, they could have had maybe 2 AAA good ones out by now.
Maybe they are waiting for say 20 million switch 2 to be sold first for a bigger user base.
Also Ubisoft port of SWOL has even surprised me how good it is. Will be interesting to how AC shadows turns out in December. But for me Ubisoft are the king of switch 2 ports for now.

Always said as a console the series x configuration and things like quick resume make it the best this generation.

It’s a terrible shame we never got to see its true power with a dedicated series x game and probably game engine, like Sony and Nintendo do with their consoles and big exclusive AAA games.
Just imagine putting Turn 10 or the Coalition on an exclusive series x game only, what a gaming treat we missed.
In my opinion the series x was and is a wasted talent of an amazing console.

Because basically Xbox consoles are almost dead sales wise, go find the sales data.
Might sell a couple of units extra if lucky 🤣
Look I was die hard Xbox for decades but definitely not foolish enough to understand Xbox consoles are dead.

It does not matter at all Xbox are not in the console market anymore really, so that rules that out.
GTA6 will push PS5 and maybe Pro.
As for game competition, those that have GPU do and those on any other consoles will buy an Xbox studio if they wish.
Xbox destroyed their own console and 25th anniversary a while ago and definitely GTA6 will have no effect on that.

I look at it the other way, that the other 2 are the outlier.
Changing things due to some might say failure and greed or maybe both.
The console only days were and still and the best days.
Both Sony and Xbox were at their best in respective consoles eras, xbox360 and PS4.
Now it’s all pretty bad, compared to those exclusive get the very best out of your console days and good competition times. The best console times have probably past along with the best games.

I think even Sony might jump on the PC market more aggressively games wise the some latest news.
My old console days are nearly over, though my Switch 2 and Nintendo are still standing firm and strong 🤣

Yay all other developers started rescheduling your games release dates. 🤣

I think right now I can only mention 2 games.
Halo and FH6.
I’m not banking on any others big hitters until Xbox confirm.
Halo and FH6 are the only two that have the closest to confirmation so far.

Sonys true console competition is the Switch and Switch 2. Sonys fans always say it is not.
But if the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 did not exist, then those players would probably by a PS5.
So it is by default competitive. Also that’s is Billions of dollars as Nintendo sell lots and lots.

Possibly the landscape is also changing for Sony.
At the end of the day they will chase the money and competition.
It’s clear heading towards the end of this generation and moving into next, which will have more cross generation releases and for longer than this generation, which will cause issues selling the PS6 and maybe the Xbox/PC Hybrid thing, that Nintendo will end up the only true traditional console player left.

It’s a really good game and 8/10 so far from me.
It’s not a legendary game up there with the top gang.
It’s not FH5 or Mario Odyssey or Last of us 2, or even those production values.

It does most things really good and some good.
But it’s what mainly Xbox studios do, really good but not in the same league as the top guns.
I’m hoping gear E day will be a top of the tree game.

Really do most of these games make zero return on investment, far too many packed in.

For me the rest of the year is probably
COD campaign, if good
Metriod prime 4

COD for me, I think the campaign will suit me.

I would get them to make a new dead space full campaign only.
Get them to take their time and make it for now a series x exclusive to drain every bit of power out of the series x.
Just focus on campaign and one console series x.

God I hope this new home Xbox pc hybrid is not like this and especially with windows gaming.
Reading reports it’s sound terrible experience compared to the console plug and play world I’m now very used to.

Normal difficulty for me, I’m a wimp 🤣

Outerworlds 2 just so far with NG4 a close second.

Fully signed in, downloaded a game, playing the game GPU. Great internet speed etc.

Off subject and concern for the next Xbox PC thing but with windows OS etc.

Just watched DF video on all this and the experience with windows sounds terrible, things like when updates arrive HDR and DRM getting issues, monitors blanking, graphics cards messing up.

That is all one massive concern for a console PC hybrid operating in windows on the PC gaming side. It actually even really turns me of this hybrid thing on the PC gaming side, overall.

Of course with DF its current user experience and chat, but it sounds awful.

The wasted money and time these companies miss-manage is almost illegally insane.
You could probably feed the starving of the world.

It’s great we get some new levels and give’s another reason to return to Halo.
I have to smile, as soon as you goto official UK PlayStation, it opens up with Halo there, bang right in your face.
Like they have nothing else to advertise with Sonys one big AAA game a year policy.
They really have slipped done in my opinion compared to the amazing PS4 era and even the start of the PS5 era.

Why is Unreal 5 so bad this generation.
I think they went from a really good U4 last generation to a terrible U5 this generation?

It will run just great on series X with unreal 5.
And could be the best console version, even against the Pro.
As the series x has some built in hardware that helps with unreal 5 engine things.
I read that somewhere, so someone please let me know.

Absolutely we know what Sony and Nintendo are doing, that’s my point.
So why don’t Microsoft just let the cat out bag and give us the full details.
It is sort of exciting overall, but enough is enough now.

They are probably leaving it until the last minute, so we stick around until all is revealed, in case we leave now if we don’t like.
I mean they must have a had some leave GPU due to the price increase.

But you hear things about games not running that great on windows or the unit needs more resource/power.

Absolutely have not a clue.
For all we know the Xbox part might be cloud gaming only, boo.
And the PC part for new games fully downloaded for the full experience and no new Xbox console games going forward for download.
Wish they would just come out with it all and ease my mind, the longer they keep it hidden the more will divert to the other two, where certainty is as good as known.

Really can’t see the point of having both a console version of a new game and PC version available on one device.
Think there is more to this.

See the thing is also as I just pointed out on push square.
It’s not my fault Sony won’t make a resistance or killzone anymore.

Single player campaign for me all the way.

They of course have analysed peoples time on devices. Which of course includes everything.
Years ago it would up against playing in the woods or sport etc.
now it’s more other electronic services.
They failed console wise but it is a bit far fetched to keep blaming other activities all the time.

I’m not to sure really, but it is what it is.
Also I’ve given up thinking about it to hard exclusive wise.

I think now more mellow and people can chose to play on what console they wish with some Xbox games and either pay or use a subscription.

Financially because I have GPU stacked until March 2027 it is great for me.
Also as you know I enjoy quick resume so much and the Xbox controller ergonomically more the dualsense, so it works out good for my Xbox studio games.
Also 2026 should be a really good Xbox studio year.

What I fined strange with Xbox is according to what I have read FH6 will not be day one PS5.
Why do halo and not FH6.
Especially as FH5 did well on PS5.

Was tempted with early access but very busy this weekend so will wait for GPU next week.
