Re: Xbox Series X|S Could Go Up In Price Again Due To Potential RAM Shortages, It's Claimed

@Titntin
Yeah they are not putting prices up, but you believe them totally and the so called clever reasons for not doing so.

Out of interest, as you know PS5 consoles seem at really good prices in the UK Black Friday deals, some say the price they should be 5 years in.
Do you think with these Black Friday prices:
They lose money
They break even
They make money

This is not meant to be a Sony thing by the way, all three are as bad as each other.

I’m not saying Sony have not done that.
But I don’t believe all these excuses for increasing prices.
My new car is now £2k cheaper new than when I purchased it 2 years ago.
Which means they have probably done better deals in parts and streamlined manufacturing process.

Also a couple of other smaller electronic items I have purchased recently are a little bit cheaper than 6 months ago. Also TVs have dropped good as well.

It always just seems the gaming industry that these poor poor poor companies have issues with cost, bless them.

Me thinks it’s all a scam to keep prices up and profits up and higher.
Even Sony reported that they make poor profit per PS5 sold that PS4 sold back in the day. That was from early this year.

Re: Xbox Series X & Series S Receive Small UK Discounts To Kick Off Black Friday 2025

OldGamer999

UK has as good supply of series consoles and they do ok over here.
Xbox have been totally damp squids last year and this year with console Black Friday deals, these are just small shop discounts.

And there was me thinking once they got COD we would get the full Monty console and COD special cheap releases and posh boxes etc.

Special slogans like “XBOX THE HOME OF COD”
They are so out of touch or just don’t want to.

Like Sony used to do when they had the COD deal.

I think if Xbox had pushed the consoles sales and marketing and stayed exclusive and marketed game pass with a console correctly, we could have seen double the series consoles sales.

Re: It's Official! The Xbox 360 Is 20 Years Old Today

OldGamer999

The definition of a pure absolute and amazing Xbox era.
How far they have gone down hill since then.

The era when Xbox consoles were in many houses and games were a plenty first party and amazing AAA quality. When people spoke and praised xbox and shops gave it lots of shelf space, merchandise was in shops for all ages etc.
When Xbox had ambition and masses of momentum and truly deserved its place in gaming.

And now their console is almost obsolete, no Black Friday deals no big AAA quality games, messing up COD, cancelling games and no buzz and momentum.

It’s almost like when they purchased Nokia and downed their mobile phone market they had.

At this stage I wish they would sell all their studios shut the whole Xbox lot down, they are not even good competition anymore to keep Sony and Nintendo on tender hooks.

Re: Halo Infinite's Final Major Content Update Has Arrived On Xbox & PC

OldGamer999

Campaign and fun play and grappling hook totally clicked with me and really enjoyed.
Of course there was lots of improvements that should have happened and of course further story dlc.

Overall enjoyed the campaign but glad it’s over and hooter can move into better things.
Looking forward to Halo campaign evolved in 2026.

@Fiendish-Beaver
Totally off subject, but was looking at the tomb raider games.
Noticed this, two great AAA games big games with 3 years release schedule.
Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015)
Shadow of the Tomb Raider (2018)

Another good example is super Mario Galaxy 1 to 2.
Which is 3 years cycle.

Still looking really good on current gen consoles.

Really why do games take so long nowadays, I can’t believe we used to produce in such amazing times, 3 years. Now it’s a drawn out 5 to 6 years maybe plus.

I will be honest where I work nowadays compared to pre covid when everyone was at work and seemed far less entitled, maybe Gen Z not totally sure.
More personal don’t seem to work as hard or push and chase and have as much drive and passion for work or were there work.
I’m 70s but started work at 16 in the 80s and I haven’t lost an ounce of drive or passion for my work.

Re: Talking Point: Xbox Is 24 Years Old Today, What Do You Expect From Next Year's 25th Birthday?

OldGamer999

@somnambulance
For me only of course Nintendo have Yoshi maybe not sure on that game and that’s it.
Sony wolverine only.
Though I would have Nintendo would maybe have a new 3d Mario who knows.

Xbox if I had to pay I have GPU, I would definitely by Fable, gears and Halo and think about Forza 6. So having stacked GPU and for Xbox could be a very good year for them, if they all release with just FH6 and Halo only confirmed so far.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 15-16)

OldGamer999

Outer words 2 slowly getting through it.
Now having GPU went COD Campaign
Well it’s seems good to me, I’m not a COD head, but shooting about seems to be good fun.
Playing on series x at 60fps runs so smooth and looks really sharp and good, textures all great.

After reading the reviews I thought oh no, but seems a good COD campaign to me.

Re: Talking Point: What Does The 'Steam Machine' Mean For Xbox's Next-Gen Console Plans?

OldGamer999

@fatpunkslim
I never said it would not be backwards compatible.
But that does not mean it may only be by way of cloud steaming those games only, rather than full downloads.

I think you need to take what Microsoft say as not the truth or read into what they have said.
They never said by means of full download of the backwards compatible game to the new hybrid device.

I am staggered you believe anything they say or don’t say.
