Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 1-2)

Update since last week 🙂

Ghost of Yotei - Finished and platinumed. Loved this game! The gorgeous world, the soundtrack, the gameplay, the story - even got some dust in my eye at the ending but then I had a window open so...... Brilliant game imo! Its a game I´ll be returning to every now and then and just take in the atmosphere and views and play the shamisen for a bit!

Battlefield 6 - having a blast with it and will for a long time. I even enjyed the campaign, but its no where near as good as a good CoD-campaign. I´ve done all the trophies except the grindy ones, which will take me a long time to get and I´ll enjoy every game along the way. Feels great to have a good Battlefield game again.

The Outer Worlds 2 - about 3 hours in an Im impressed, both with the game itself which is good fun so far and that it runs as good as it does on my poor old series S so I dont feel any need to get this on my Pro instead which is nice since we have GPU until december I think. (I should have finished bith this and the upcoming CoD campaign by then.)

This weekend I´ll continue playing:

• Ghost of Yõtei on my PS5. Such a beautiful game and very fun to explore, just like Tsushima was;
• Donkey Kong Banaza and Ni no Kuni 2 on my Switch 2. The first is a masterclass of a platformer game and just so much fun breaking everything in your path. And the second one looks fantastic on Switch 2 in smooth 60 fps;
• Ghostwire Tokyo and SilkSong on my Series X/PC. Started the first one a couple of days ago and it is pretty interesting. Really like the style of the game. As for Silksong, I´m in Chapter 3, trying to find my way into new areas of the game and facing brand new Bosses. This game is absolutely amazing.

Hitman Blood Money. A brilliant game that was way ahead of its time. Probably the game I played the most on the OG Xbox (close tie with GTA:SA). Minimalist choral music swelling only at pivotal times, long waits for the exact moment of opportunity, adapting to chaos in an instant. Missions have manageable complexity with great variety throughout. And there's much less explicit player direction than the newer games.

I'm doing my part to liberate the Terminid hive world in Helldivers 2 and diving deep into Jurassic World Evolution 3. The step up in terraforming and building customisation over JWE2 is both sizable and overwhelming but I'm getting to grips with it.

Been continuing with the Sherlock Holmes games. Devil's Daughter now which I finished many years ago but I don't remember much about it.

And Vampire Survivors.

I'm going to try to finish P3R and play some more Dying Light The Beast and Ball x Pit. I also want to start either Metaphor or the Outer Worlds 1. I bought the spacers choice edition a while ago but haven't tried it yet.

Working through Dragon Quest I and II for me!

With spooky season wrapped up my moratorium on non spooky games has lifted. I think my next move will finishing Persona 3Load and I’d like to dip my toes into the Witcher 3 DLC I hear that they are choice!

More Pacific Drive which has become my favourite game on gamepass in a long time, definitely think I'll be buying it and the DLC. Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O too, have a good weekend!

Pacific Drive & Helldivers 2 with some Deep Rock Galactic Survivor

Started Wuchang Fallen Feathers and the game is actually really good. Visually it is incredible, but gameplay also feels great. I know they've patched it a few times with some much needed QoL improvements (which is why I usually wait a few months for some games now) but so far from what ive played it is fun. Also very tempted to get arc raiders, but it is hard for me to play multiple games at once when my time is already limited.

Yesterday was pay day so I bought Jurassic World Evo 3. If you’ve played the other games, it’s basically more of the same but better, which is fine by me.

Battlefield 6 and split screen Powerwash Simulator 2 with the wife.

I'm gonna start up Star Wars Jedi Survivor on Xbox Series X.

I'm currently level 9 in Outer Worlds 2 on a Very Hard run, and very much enjoying the game.

I have also completed one Master Horde as a trio in Gears 5 yesterday, and failed another on Wave 40 today. Plan is to have another stab at one tomorrow. Absolutely loving the challenge of having just 3 people in a mode that is supposed to have 5. Master is difficult with 5, so with 3 it is uber-hard...

I’m mostly jumping between Donkey Kong Bonanza and Ghost of Yotei, but I’m seriously considering ARC Raiders even though I’m not big into multiplayer games.

Dungeon Hunter 5 (Windows Phone) - Just starting this up and clearing the tutorial.

Twins (Windows Phone) - Back on this to finish up the last bonus levels.

Flowerz (Windows Phone) - Still enjoying my time with this. I'm nearing two-thirds of the way through it now.

on my quest to finally finish all the Gears games (well worth doing) finished 5, then realise Hivebusters was a dlc, so started that, Great Fun!! Need to get back ot the original Silent Hill after as i fancied playing that series from the start too

@Lup My memory is not great but the advantage is i can replay great games after a decade or two and remeber little or nothing of them so cna enjoy them again 🤣

Ghost of Yōtei Seriously good game, and very probably my GOTY. I’m around 45 hours in, and have still only killed one of the Yōtei six lol. The game is absolutely gorgeous too.
Borderlands 4 I’m just about to enter the central part of the map for the first time - Dominion city. My character (Vex) is level 32, and have been having a lot of fun with this game. They have definitely improved performance since launch, which is good to see.
I’m tempted to try ARC Raiders 🤔 I don’t usually play multiplayer, but I’ve heard good things about the solo play, where the game will usually match you with other solo players. And from what I’ve seen in videos the game looks stunning.

Finished ninja 4 earlier this afternoon that was just ok, a bit of the new map on BF6 this evening, that's been good.
Outer worlds 2 on the series X and ghost ofTsushima DC on PC, both not been started.

For me it's Kingdom of Amalur re-reckoning, and some enter the gungeon.

I've been on and off with Silk Song, making slow and gradual progress but other than that I've also been into Ninja Gaiden 4 and Pacific Drive

Finished the campaign on Borderlands 4 but still finishing up some of the extras, side missions and end game stuff. But most of my time this weekend is going into the excellent Outer Worlds 2.

Just a quick question on the dificulty setting. If you choose the very hard option after the character creation and start the game, it seems to revert to normal when you check the game setting menu. Looks to be a bug(?) or something, so it worth checking before going to the intro space station that is still the very hard setting to avoid disappointment😉. It happened to me with the hard setting.

Anima flux but still got Digimon story time stranger silent hill f n silksong ongoing but just bought inayah n tried post trauma with Xbox free weekend so might buy that too. Too many games to play 😂😭

@Lup you've just reminded me Vampire Survivors got an update. More importantly, you've just reminded me I'm now missing achievements in Vampire Survivors.

I'm playing Arc Raiders (on PC) with a couple of friends. We've been having a great time! The gameplay loop is very satisfying, but also brutal! It's a high-risk, high-reward type of game. Visually, it really is nice to look at. It's also very well-optimized.

Thanks, @Sol4ris. I am absolutely, definitely, no doubt, playing on Very Hard (it says so on each of my saves), and I am struggling like a mother fumbler against the final boss of the first planet. I have so far spent 4 hours trying to beat him. So, yep! Definitely Very Hard... 😂

Thank you! It's taken me 26 hours to hit level 10, @Sol4ris, and there is nothing more that I can do to level up any further right now, but man this boss is proving a nightmare! I'm determined to beat him without reducing the difficulty, so I maybe here a while yet... 😂

Dwarf Survivors and loving the grind! The voice acting cracks me up every time. I must try Keeper soon so will do that as well…

Finally beat him after around 5 hours of trying, @Sol4ris. I had to keep shifting my strategy, and use different weapons at different stages, and keep moving to certain parts of the room in order to take him down, but I eventually did it. Now I just have to hope that I am better prepared for the next boss fight, or hope that he was the most difficult one, which does sometimes happen, right...? 😂

Some of the fights lasted around 2 minutes, but many ended after just a few seconds. I dread to think how many times I died.

Anyway, onwards and upwards, my Very Hard run continues intact to the next planet...

I've just finished chapter 12 I'm Ninja Gaiden 4. Still enjoying it but it's getting repetitive. I will finish the story.

Also playing Mario Galaxy on Switch 2.

And I finished a game called Ghost Town on my Meta Quest 3S. That was genuinely brilliant.

Vampire Survivors, unfortunately the new online feature wasn't available when I tried.
Halls of Torment, it's like Vampire Survivors and Diablo.
Battlefield 6, can't get enough of it, I don't need any other multiplayer.... well a new Star Wars Battlefront would be nice.
