Being honest didn’t go again as played the remaster on series a while ago.
Anyway need to deal with:
Finishing Doom dark ages
Indy DLC
Yooka remaster, will get it cheaper
Outer worlds 2
NG4
COD campaign

As I got the premium upgrade when the game released day one early.
I think I get this DLC as well?

Think there will be some unknown game announced with a link to a Japanese studio.

Have switch 2 and really enjoying DBK sub level 900 100% so far, so setup some way to go.

I guess it’s depends how powerful this PC with the Xbox layer on top is depends on how good the PC downloaded natively running versions of the game will be.

I have GPU until March 2027 so I guess if the PC thing is out by then I just download and play natively the PC version of the game.

Not sure if this a great strategy overall but going on Xbox console sales for July 2025 worldwide 132 thousand it’s the only option left for what was a traditional sort of Xbox console to exist going forward.

GPU is still amazing value, look what’s coming the rest of this year and then hopefully 2026, but I’m not sure it’s enough.
I guess they are just a massive publisher now really moving forward.

So are you saying that the next gen Xbox will not play my current series x generation games like Forza Horizon 5 or a third party game like the up and coming resident evil 9, by fully downloading natively?

Or only if the game has a PC version of FH5 and RE9 it would run downloaded natively, because the next Xbox will basically be a full PC with an Xbox overlay?

Yes we usually get the best out of in house developers game engines as they created them. Also unreal engine games can look all a bit similar etc.

Of course in house engines cost of course.

I would expect the coalition to get the best out of unreal 5 with gears e day. As they worked with unreal very closely.

Really enjoyed the last tomb raider games always go down well with the action and adventure.
Shame if a new tomb raider doesn’t arrive soon.

It’s simple and I know it’s a physical game chart but look what is riding high on the UK game charts Nintendo, even MK8 deluxe is still in the top 10.

If both Sony and Microsoft were that good and so amazing then they would be more in the top 10 game sales.

In Japan Xbox is nothing and Sony don’t do that great either.

It’s there to get the Sony gang on board and nothing else really.
Great game back in the day for me and a true Xbox360 highlight.

About 3 times ish I think.

Favourite console this generation Series X.
Shame it was not used to its full potential game wise.
Like having a top end Porsche and doing 70MPH on UK motorway.
We should have seen this coming with the whole Halo Infinite thing and series s and PC and cloud gaming. Series x was never going to have its day it really deserved.

Seems to be an average game sitting at 75 on meta.
Just what I thought it would be, won’t be buying this game. When I can play true AAA games that sit at 90 plus.

Well it’s at 83 on meta for Xbox, which considering that was the not so great release day review and would probably push a bit higher now with update improvements.
I expect about a 87 ish for PS5.

I’m still not happy that Microsoft do not come out and say this.
As it is probably true, yet again hanging things on a thread and not telling anybody.

Not sure if they are trying to keep some sort of console sales ticking over or GPU subscriptions, but it is Microsoft’s usual trick.

I totally understand what you are saying.
I’m totally glad Nintendo are Nintendo and like to stay as they are within reason.

There development talent producing games the way they do and just for their console keeps me gaming more.

I wish the other two where like that, well Sony sort of still are, as I have been gaming for decades and actually enjoy the console competition and seeing each company getting the best out of their own console, which Xbox have not achieved this generation and Sony just about.

Thank Nintendo for being Nintendo.

The more interesting one in the future is Nintendo.
Part of me thinks they have cost etc under tight control and also have very good merchandise sales, theme parks etc to offset if need be.

Probably the only the one of the big three that will stay the official exclusive console of Nintendo big AAA games.

Well if you look at say uncharted 4 and HZD or HFW they are old games that have sold what they have sold.
So why not take that code and make Xbox and/or switch 2 versions and make more money.

I’m thinking surely games that old won’t affect PS5 and Pro sales?

I think the big new games will be day one going forward.

Just get on with it Microsoft studios and give us some switch 2 and PS5 games.
They did great with FH5 and took good advantage of the PS5 Pro, now being the definitive console experience for FH5.

Would have been helpful if the studio that had 6 years to make the game, where actually micro managed by Microsoft’s top team, that’s if they can manage.
Should have been a game that launched millions of console sales the BOTW of Xbox consoles.
They could have not messed it up much more overall really for what it should have been, though I did enjoy the campaign and the fps mechanics and grappling hook.

Microsoft will never make a game well maybe FH5 that takes full advantage of the series x as they make for multiple consoles and PC and cloud.
They are just a multi publisher now and their series x a console that never got to show its pure full console potential.
Such a shame in the console world.

Not worried about all this faff on consoles.
One thing on a console is games for me and always has been.
Not used a single service on any console outside of games in all my gaming decades.

As most of you know I used rant about this from day one of the great series x release.
And basically it’s come true, well true enough.

Have your in house studio make a game and engine ground up for one console, the series x and you will get the very best out of it.
And that had never been done.

That is how Sony and Nintendo get the best from their respective consoles.
One console and nothing else, focus and develop just for that one console and sometimes a game engine for that as well.

It’s a game pass check out at most for me
Then I will go from there, but did not look like my type of game.

Yep I want another Xbox full home console whatever they call it. But my expectations are we are not getting one.
Series x is a fantastic console, form wise and features wise, quick resume my favourite feature of this generation. The best and only complete VRR console as well.
And the Xbox controller form factor is the best for me.

What I think we will get is a locked PC form factor with an Xbox badge playing PC versions of the games. That also keeps GPU alive still of course.
No I’m not a PC gamer but if I was, I would want the very best the most powerful and the Xbox badged PC will not be that.
So I’m not sure there is a market for this PC Xbox badged device.

The most annoying thing about it all is why don’t Xbox just come out and say what it is.
A full blown traditional Xbox home console or a PC with an Xbox badge.
That is all I ask of them.

Sony have told us we are getting a PS6
Nintendo have just released switch 2.

But no, the trillion dollar company just leave us hanging on a mixed thread. Disgusting really.

Yep the unreal 5 Halo demo showed us what was happening, remake for all including PS5 day one.

It really felt like ten year old game in some respects.
I rated the main Bethesda studio in the old days, Skyrim for example.
But they are miles behind top development studios for 2020s era. Stuck in past glory and with old systems and engine.

I think they should double down all big Microsoft AAA day one PS and switch 2 if suitable, maybe some back catalogue for switch 2.
Dump the Xbox console, really what is all that cost of development for, low console sales.

Give gamepass owners a fixed PC option with an Xbox badge for next generation.
Keep GPU going on PC etc.

Hang on is that not what they are doing. 🤣

This was so the right game for Xbox to put on PS5 and they made the effort for the PS5 Pro very good upgrade.
There was definitely a game type gap on PS5 and this was it.
There next FH will be straight to PS5 for sure and probably next year.
Will be interesting to see how gears does later this year as well.

I think all companies rightly or wrongly really look at cost and what return on investment they are going to get.
Then as development time passes by, decide to keep the game developing or cut the game, relating to financial assessment.
It’s the same on the high street in the UK every month we hear of shop chain closing some or all of their high street stores in favour of better return on line or the shop is not making any money after rent and employee costs.
I think in gaming of course we get more attached rather than we do with a shop.

Just millions of dollars gone.

It’s all getting a bit much now.
Hopefully that’s the end of it all and all those that lost their jobs and or studios get back up and running very soon.

So maybe it was a lot further behind in development than it looked.

Especially the part of you didn’t play it like they did it went a bit wrong.

Just how much development time and money has this all wasted.

If the studios were managed properly we could have had probably two amazing big AAA games out by now.

It won’t be an Xbox console it will a PC with an Xbox logo on it playing PC games.

Just like the handheld is now with Asus.

That is definitely not a next generation Xbox console.

But FH is a good for PlayStation sales wise.
If you are going to be a publisher you have think about these things.

Will it run the game as a PC game.
Meaning it could run other PCs.

Meaning it is not a dedicated console version and would run on other PCs, specs permitting of course?

That to me makes the difference between it being a console or just a PC.

Yep it is what they have started doing already with handheld and VR and I think that is what the next Xbox will be.
A PC with an xbox logo on it. Maybe with a few tweaks but it will be playing PC versions of games and not a dedicated Xbox console versions.
So it’s a PC simple as that and that then means Xbox has left the dedicated hardware console market. So no Xbox home console.
