Re: Here's How The New Xbox Prices Compare To PS5 & Nintendo Switch 2

I have a feeling that the Nintendo price for switch 2 and games and now Microsoft and probably soon Sony are all about setting prices and expectations for the next 3 years and next generation for Sony and Microsoft and the industry moving forward.
I mean look at the prices of say top mobile phones and top TVs none of this stuff at the higher end is cheap.
Consumer electronics at the higher and posher end are all moving upwards
I remember the UK in the 70s and early 80s all this electrical stuff around at the time was luxury goods.
If you had a video player or a good washing machine you were well off.
Actually in the 70s if you had good carpet and a sofa you were doing well.

There also is a bit of an industrial trend going at the moment more than usual.
If you sell 100 items for £50 you make £5000
If you sell 50 items for £100 you make £5000

Now you make the same money but for less production effort by making 50 less items which normally will make more profit.
Now that has become more important than selling the most, it’s the same in the car industry and others and consoles are following that trend.
Of course it’s a little more complicated with cross over points etc.
But selling the most isn’t the main goal anymore, maximising production cost to selling profit is.

Same here, it’s hard to give loyalty when the owners give none back to their own product.

I still don’t believe we will have a next gen Xbox home console like the switch 2 or PS6.
If they do, it will not be maybe some standard thing a console owner would buy and probably extremely niche and sell very few.
But the way they have treated the series console I don’t get the point of bothering with design and set up manufacturing and production costs.

@PsBoxSwitchOwner
You are absolutely correct.
I still say the series x is the best form factor console and features like quick resume and Game Pass is becoming more great value.

But Christ do Microsoft absolutely annoy me in their console approach to Xbox consoles especially in the UK and more so with lack of stock and now a price increase.

Considering the USA tariffs having zero to do with the UK and they could ship straight from China to the UK and miss the tariffs is even more annoying for Xbox consoles.

Let’s also consider the UK is only second to the USA in Xbox console popularity, the console does ok in the UK and so does Game Pass.

The UK should be given better treatment than this rather than putting us with the rest of Europe that don’t buy Xbox consoles and making us pay for some of Trumps tariffs.

Totally ducking disrespect for the UK again by the USA and a USA company. And totally mismanagement of a good Xbox market the UK.

Xbox you don’t deserve the good sales you have in the UK 🇬🇧

Re: Subscriptions Like Xbox Game Pass 'Not The Future Of Gaming', Says Analyst

OldGamer999

When series x released Gamepass was Microsoft Phil’s big thing.
Now recently Phil says it’s not for everyone.
Gamepass was Xbox big thing the selling point that set Xbox apart.
It sold well for a while but that’s it now stagnant.
It does not help that Xbox consoles have by far the biggest attachment rate and Microsoft do not advertise Xbox consoles that well.

They failed on their big thing gamepass mainly the same way they did Xbox consoles.

Would not surprise me if gamepass goes the same way as Xbox consoles and at some point might get stopped.

Xbox have tried and since the xbox360 days overall been in the decline.
Their main future now they have purchased lots of studios, MICROSOFT GAMES.

Re: Bethesda Partners Directly With PlayStation On Strange DOOM: The Dark Ages Trailer

OldGamer999

@themightyant
That’s is true, and Xbox rarely advertise anything Xbox consoles or console game pass related, especially to the masses or general public.
I feel Xbox consoles and game pass on Xbox consoles are just a thing in the background now that drifts along as it is and makes a bit of money but not worth pushing to the masses or general public.
Those Xbox console days are way gone.
But the series x in form factor and with quick resume is still my favourite console, but overall has lost its position to me as best place to play which now goes to the PS5 Pro if you are a visual and performance perfectionist which I am.

Re: Reaction: Xbox's Third-Party Strategy Is Finally Making Sense To Me

OldGamer999

It’s very simple really and sticking just to consoles because that is really what it is about the Xbox console.

It enables Xbox studios games to be available to another 75 million PS5 owners and 150 million Switch owners.

If you add the 2 together that’s 225 million owners which of course will get higher overtime.

This is of course at the sacrifice of selling more Xbox consoles and potentially game pass sales on Xbox consoles.

So very simply the accountants did the accounting, the analysts did the future potential losses and gains and Microsoft decided they can make more many selling games on other consoles against potential Xbox console and Xbox console game pass sales being lost.

Will they make more money, the future is not ours not to see and of course the Microsoft accountants and analysts hope so, because that’s the gamble and maybe theirs or someone’s jobs are on the line.

For me personally I love the old Xbox 360 days and even the Xbox one days and the fight and the exclusives and it will never be the same.

Re: Digital-Only Xbox Series X|S Consoles Have Accounted For 75% Of Sales So Far In 2025

OldGamer999

@donv2135
Just get frustrated as the UK do buy series x consoles when they are in stock.
I have never known an anti we have no stock approach to selling something that could be in stock.

I think the series x is a great console and my favourite this generation as a form factor and things like quick resume. I just want the console to do well and game pass, but the owners don’t see to put their best foot forward to making that happen.
Which makes me Grrrrrrrrrrr 🤣

Re: Oblivion Remastered Comparison Shows Difference Between Xbox Series X And Series S

OldGamer999

1080p 60fps is this generation so weak
And so reliable on shimmering/pixel crawl upscalers.
And I mean for both PS5 and Xbox.

After playing a game last generation, like Horizon forbidden west and also PS5 an open world game.
It’s seems we just have not moved forward this generation, there is just almost no wow factor this generation.

Assassins creed shadows on PS5 Pro once the PSSR patch arrived is probably the tiniest little wow so far and that’s mid generation console costing dam £700.

So far the most least unimpressive generation in a good few decades.

Re: Phil Spencer Discusses Why Xbox Game Pass Isn't For Everyone These Days

OldGamer999

When you don’t promote and PR your largest game pass subscription attachment Xbox consoles then what do you expect, subs will get stagnant.

They obviously thought people would snap up gamepass on other devices but it’s not really happening or taking off.

Totally take out the companies or any fan boy stuff.
It’s games that count and followings and peoples friends.

So we know there is a very established system that peoples friends play fifa and cod on and also the casuals enjoy. That system also has some great exclusives and great exclusive history to add as well.

The other system generally creates extremely established characters AAA games with a massive fan base, exclusive for their own device to play them on.

The masses the general public, the casuals and some gamers are all ready well established on those systems and with those games.
They not really interested in another device be it a console or cloud stream stick that has a subscription not matter whats it’s value, because to them the games etc bring nothing to them and the same with cloud gaming.
Or definitely not enough to add or even defect from their current gaming devices and arrangements.

The only way for Xbox to do anything is put those games on those devices people are playing on and hope they sell well.

Basically no one’s bothered in the masses about game pass.
