Re: Roundup: Here's What The Critics Think Of Ninja Gaiden 4 From Xbox Game Studios

OldGamer999

The game does what I expected it to do and fantastically.

Some reviews moaning about the story or linear style levels. But when they review an next open world game they will moan about the open world. Or a story driven game and its story.
I think some reviewers seem to be entitled nowadays.

Meta 83 and when comparing to game like ghost of Yotei 86, then NG4 has done really well.

Re: Talking Point: Xbox Should Use And Improve This New PlayStation Store Feature

OldGamer999

How about Sony add quick resume that amazing series x feature, that is just a mini hard drive dump to do.
Something for the gamers.

When I come of X using quick resume with about 3 games on the go, it seems such a pain on the Pro going through the start screens and also going back to the last save.

Quick resume starts me at the exact place I left it I like have never been a way and never lets me down.

Re: Review: ROG Xbox Ally X - An Amazing Handheld PC With Plenty Of Console-Like Potential

OldGamer999

@Banjo-
You are spot on with some of your points.
I think it would hurt Sony very very little or not at all to go day one on Xbox with their studios games.

Yes we would have fan boys crying for a day or two, dust settles, PS console sales not affected at all.
Mainly because the user bases are done and settled and defined now, so long into the console generations.

Sony for me are missing out on extra game sales, because they are either too scared to take the plunge or just don’t see the potential.

Or they could take the approach of release on Xbox 6 to 9 months later and possible get some Xbox owners move to Sony consoles as they want to play the Sony games day one and on a Sony console or PS5 Pro to have the best version or dual-sense controller features.

Sony to me are being short sited for this day and age in the cycle of consoles over the decades.

@Coletrain @Banjo- @HonestHick
I put this on a push square article about ghost of Yotei sales, not as click bait, as you can tell by what I put.
But what do you think about Sony being multiplatform:

For me this is where Sony maybe sometimes have to consider in this day and age multiplatform releases.
Look at battlefield 6 sitting at around 7 million sold already.
I guess and it will be all about money and if Sony would lose to many console sales over day one multi platform releases.
If they lost zero console sales selling multiplatform but gained very good game sales then it’s a win money wise for sure.
I think the power of the PlayStation and owning the console is underestimated and Sony would not lose hardly any console sales in the big wide general public world.

Re: Everwild Screenshots Leak Online Several Months After Xbox Cancellation

OldGamer999

Let’s flip the coin here. We have seen other games and companies continue and get the game released and have been mega flops. Of course finishing to completion and releasing will cost even more money than cancelling the project at some point, obviously the sooner the better.

But if a game is really gonna flop and add more cost by releasing then it could be wise to cut your losses.

Re: Microsoft Issues Statement Denying Target & Walmart Are Pulling Xbox Products

OldGamer999

@Coletrain
I totally agree we need Xbox hardware console wise etc.
what gets me Xbox with all these studios are probably in the best position in years to push hardware and game pass on consoles, even if I’m talking about at least some sort of exclusiveness, to promote the reason the own an Xbox console.
As for penny pinching, all three are at it in their own unique way at different times throughout the last two years.
£450/£500 in the UK for a series x is a good price, I mean you can pay £400 for a 3 tflop docked switch 2.
Work that out from a power point of view only.

Re: Xbox 'Magnus' Leak Suggests Next Console Will Be Powerful, Expensive & Maybe A Hybrid Device

OldGamer999

@Coletrain
Think you are spot on there and very accurate.

It’s a shame as I like the console wars and competition really. The day I got my Xbox and drooled over halo combat evolved, thinking I’ve never played a console game like this. Since then had every Xbox and enjoyed everyone. Of course in the xbox360 days it was my main and only console for a good while.
Then the PS3 actually started towards the end producing very good games and the PS4 followed and Sony slowly but surely took over. But as always I still flip flopped 🤣 between PS4 and Xbox one. Nintendo have always been around as well for me.
This generation has been my most weird and of course covid did not help in a strange way.
I would dearly deep down like to stay along with Xbox, but I don’t think there cloud based future is for me and what ever their next console thing might be. If they told me it might help a bit, and of course I really don’t trust them.

I’ve always said the series x console has the best form factor and controller for me and quick resume I love.

But as someone else said on here. It’s like the wife cheating on you, just one to many times, so you have to leave with a sadness, but look forward to the future with Sony and Nintendo.

Re: Xbox 'Magnus' Leak Suggests Next Console Will Be Powerful, Expensive & Maybe A Hybrid Device

OldGamer999

@Coletrain
That’s my problem I have not a clue and they are actually making it all worse.
Ok we know today we have a series console and the new Game pass tiers and costs and what we have native downloaded.
But not many will invest in it all now and definitely not in the future if we don’t know what the future really is Xbox console wise.
I think it will be a pure cloud gaming box for all Xbox games from this generation backwards and new games and old PC games from this generation will be PC native downloaded only.

But who will buy it, PC gamers won’t they like to tinker with new parts etc.
Some may have not like series games being cloud gaming only.
Microsoft would lose more money as you can buy through other front house services.
And GPU has got more expensive.

I just totally confused and lost for words really on what they are trying to achieve. I think they are leaving the console market next generation. The new machine will be a PC for PC games download native and a streaming box for old Xbox games. And that is Microsoft’s way of leaving the native download game console market.

Re: Xbox 'Magnus' Leak Suggests Next Console Will Be Powerful, Expensive & Maybe A Hybrid Device

OldGamer999

Power is a pinch of salt with Xbox.
The series x is clearly more powerful than the PS5.

But Sony developers make for just the PS5 and sometimes game engines for the PS5, hence getting the best from the PS5 and making Xbox studio games for the series x look mainly sub par.
As the poor Xbox studios has to make for many different consoles and pc and cloud gaming. And mainly don’t have series x console only game engines.

I said this day one with the Halo Infinite incident and it has came true this whole generation so far.

Xbox studios are Jack of all trades and definitely not the master of the series x console. It’s not the studios fault it’s the direction Microsoft wanted Xbox to go.

If you got say the coalition to make a series x game engine and a game for just the series x we would have seen something very special and up there with Sony studios in production values and maybe even above compared to the PS5 best from Sony.

Dam that’s a reason to own a console and why Sony and Nintendo with their exclusives and quality sell so many consoles. Silly me.

Re: Xbox 'Magnus' Leak Suggests Next Console Will Be Powerful, Expensive & Maybe A Hybrid Device

OldGamer999

@Coletrain
What I want to know from Xbox is the following.
I’m not bothered it maybe being hybrid.
Will it play native purchased series x games and not just cloud streaming them? If no, that is very bad.
If no to the above will we need to buy the PC version to play the old series x game downloaded native?
Moving forward will it be PC versions of the game we can only download to play native? As an Xbox next generation version will not exist.
And of course all the above is resolved money wise if you have GPU, there way of getting you on GPU PC.
To me it will be away of Xbox getting you to subscribe to GPU so you get to download the PC version of the old series x games, else you can only stream the old series x games on the hybrid Xbox console or you just pay for the PC version to download.

Re: Battlefield 6 Dev Explains Why It Isn't Following Black Ops 7 With Xbox One Version

OldGamer999

Being honest this has been Xbox gender most of this generation, not moving forward enough.

You only have to look at games made for PS5 only by a Sony AAA studio to see what this generation can really do.

Microsoft have never made a game engine and game just for series x, to show really what the series x can do and those high production values developing for just one single console. Totally focus on one console for the development team.
Xbox studios are Jack of all trades and master of none.

Re: New COD Sales 'Estimate' Helps Explain Xbox's Price Hike For Day One Game Pass Releases

OldGamer999

@Jenkinss
I always said sell a Xbox series console sell a game pass sub. Series consoles have just over 50% of the GP subs against millions of other devices.
Once they stopped caring about series consoles there was one way the console and game pass was going, down hill.

But they messed up that on release of the series consoles and lack of amazing games at the first two years exclusive wise. Fudged Halo Infinite badly, I really enjoyed the campaign but it was last generation looks wise etc.

Anyway it was all amazing whilst it lasted.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Still Buy An Elite Series 3 Controller For Xbox Series X|S?

OldGamer999

@Fiendish-Beaver
I mean I paused ghost of Yotei on my Pro to reply to you.
Think this is what Xbox consoles and games should have been.
Maybe the game not for all, but the graphics the gameplay the whole smooth perfectionism of it, played on the highest level of what a gaming console can do right now.

Microsoft didn’t even give the series x a chance to show us what it could really do.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Still Buy An Elite Series 3 Controller For Xbox Series X|S?

OldGamer999

@Fiendish-Beaver
The thing for me with Microsoft is the total lack of trust now. I’ve really tried but now nothing they say I believe and anything they do is now not surprising. If they closed Xbox tomorrow it would not surprise me bit.
Actually they would surprise me if they actually came out and told us really what they are doing in the very near next generation future.
Tell us what it is what it does or does not do.
Level with us.
Nintendo have switch 2 console full native downloaded gaming
Sony will have PS6 console full native downloaded gaming and with PS5 games native to download.
Microsoft, mmmm well, not sure, maybe a console downloading full native games and series x games. Maybe not, maybe a hybrid, maybe cloud gaming.
Absolutely disgrace to the loyal Xbox gang.
