Forza for me but Fable moved the needle the most for what that's worth. There's nowhere left for Forza Horizon's needle to go, FH5 was the highest rated game of 2021. Contender for game of the generation.

@Questionable_Duck Not taking them at their word is exactly the point, they said there would be only 4 games and it was an obvious lie. There was no path that could lead to them keeping any sort of exclusivity, timed or otherwise. They were never (except in the extreme short term) going to market games for their console with 30m users, then after the buzz dies, release their games on consoles with 120m and 150m users. There was never a chance of that. People were in extreme denial and wanted to believe anything.

Action games like this don't usually interest me, but this was visually appealing enough to get my attention. I don't like anime but even I like Princess Mononoke.

@Questionable_Duck it's insane that we are still having this discussion. When they announced the "just 4 games," there was no path that didn't lead to this. We knew that day every game from Halo on down would be day 1 on Playstation. This isn't hindsight, I was fighting with people here back then about it - and I can understand people not getting it back then. But NOW? Unbelievable

@Kezelpaso I'm with you on not caring if they return to 4-5. 4 had an ok protagonist in a bad game, and 5 had a bad protagonist in an ok at best game - to say nothing of "the decision" which was the stupidest thing in gaming history that there was no way to get out of. I think that was all Rod, he promised everyone it was a good idea and he'd make it make sense in gears 6, and then promptly left the company.

Really hoping we will finally see a good Gears campaign without Cliffy because it certainly hasn't happened yet.

My PC was, at one time, considered a gaming PC. It's still great for work. I think nowadays I'm more likely to work anywhere than play anywhere.

Played it at release as I was a huge fan of the first game (my avatar is still wearing the shirt lol). Awesome game with breathtaking set pieces.

@ILuvGames totally agree on Scalebound. Crap for weebs like everything Platinum makes.

This was one of the most interesting games MS had in development and the only one I was sad to see cancelled.

Since they usually do a bit of a studio tour for each game, it's going to be interesting seeing two games from the same developer this time.

RIP Orcs Must Die Deathtrap. Pushed out before it was finished, the performance was abysmal and I never found the time to go back to see if it was fixed.

Kings Bounty 2 might have had the worst voice acting of any game I've played in decades but it was so bad that it kind of became endearing. I heard many people say they played in Russian with subtitles in the same way people watch anime in Japanese with subtitles, lol

@FraserG seeing the orange box on here just reminded me the Xbox team fortress 2 community is still very active with a discord that arranges events several times a week. Just throwing it out there as an idea for a PXB story.

Enchanted Arms remaster when?

I am paid for ultimate through the summer. Then, I have a 1 year sub code Phil Spencer sent me with a Christmas card I can use. After that who knows, but I suspect I will probably downgrade.

After loving Remnant and then putting Remnant 2 at the very top of my greatest coop games of all time list, I'm finally getting around to playing the first game in the series Chronos: Before the Ashes. Hoping to finish it before Pathalogic 3 comes out next week.

I don't remember the last time I had 2 games pre-ordered the same week. Very excited for both Pathologic 3 and FFVII. Interestingly they are both sort of remakes.

I used to swap games on and off an external SSD but stopped using it, it's almost as fast to just redownload games and I don't have a data cap.

First one by far, second was also great though, kinda hated the 3rd and I don't even remember why. It had something to do with the ending or a time skip or something.

@Jenkinss It's a Korean RTS where you are also controlling a hero on the battlefield, a really neat genre blend with some properly epic moments as the armies get bigger and bigger. Mandalore reviewed it a few years ago when it got a really late PC port:

I have always had a soft spot for east Asian takes on medieval European setting/aesthetic, fantasy or otherwise. I think it might be from growing up with the Phantasy Star games.

@VisitingComet1 I loved the Oblivion remaster, but I played it a couple months after launch. I think it has some major performance issues when it first came out which thankfully I missed.

My top Xbox games outside the usual KOTOR and Halo games are Morrowind, Kingdom Under Fire The Crusaders, Fable, and Jade Empire.

Pathalogic series is legendary for those who know. Watch hbomberguy or mandaloregaming's video on the first Pathalogic, both videos are incredible and worth anyone's time.

AI banning people for no reason and you can appeal to another AI. Hasn't happened to me because I never use Xbox chat anymore for this very reason.

I bought a 2nd hand Playstation in 1997 just to play one game - FFVII. I'm loving the remake so far.

Walked into Sears on launch day and bought one without a preorder. Got Halo but got stuck with 2 racing games I didn't need as everyone made you buy bundles back then. Got a second controller, and me and my buddy played through the entire Halo campaign that day/night.

Up until now, absolutely no game has launched day one on other consoles (except for acquisition titles that were already multiplatform), and none have released in under a year either (except Indiana Jones, which is a Disney‑licensed game). You’re making assumptions, and so am I — the difference is that nothing supports your assumptions, while mine are backed by actual facts.

My Little Pony is looking like another game for me to play with my daughter, game pass has done well feeding me games to play with her.

Rogue Trader is on Game Pass? I had no idea, played it at release - the reason I didn't get to Baldur's Gate 3 for a while since it unexpectedly hit Xbox the same day. Incredible game for fans of CRPGs and/or WH40K.

Xbox One X with its HDD swapped out for a SSD was a true beast last gen. That said, I wouldn't buy a console now from a 13 year old gen unless your goal is retro gaming.

Just finished the last achievement for Dome Keeper. Great game!

My daughter might like the My Little Pony game

Blasted through the MK1 story when it got released on game pass, great stupid fun.

Great game from a great dev. The art and the combat blow away anything else in the genre. Glad it is ditching f2p and I hope it finds an audience.

Outward 2, Dark Heresy, and Osiris Reborn? It's like this show was tailor made just for me.

I'm really, really looking forward to Outward 2. The first game coop with my wife was such a memorable adventure. No one else really makes games like that.

Can't wait to see some FH6, the best Microsoft games of the last 2 gens I think have been FH4 and FH5.

Preordered and preloaded. Played the demo and I'm running high on nostalgia for one of the greatest games of all time.

Fable without Molyneux is like Gears without Cliffy - it might be a pillar but certainly not a load bearing one.
