In a recent interview at Tokyo Game Show 2025, Xbox boss Phil Spencer talked to IGN Japan about a number of different gaming-related topics - naming four classic Xbox franchises that fans often ask to see revived by Team Green along the way.
In the fairly freeform chat which saw Phil answer a few laid back questions, the Xbox boss was quizzed on the now-dormant franchises that players keep asking to see again. OG Xbox's Crimson Skies and MechAssault were namedropped first, before Phil went on to add Xbox 360's Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey into the mix as well.
"In terms of requests, they're really all over... there's love of the FASA catalogue when I think about Crimson Skies and MechAssault - people love those games, like from old old school,"
"I'd like to add [...] sitting here, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon; games from our history which I do hear a lot about [...] those are also two just, being at TGS, it would be stupid of me not to mention those."
There were no sort of hints at any of these actually returning — in fact, Phil referred to this as being a "dangerous question" when he went to answer it — they're merely games that the Xbox boss gets asked about on the regular when discussing Xbox's rich history.
Anyway, we thought it was pretty interesting to see Phil namedrop these titles, and to hear from the Xbox boss directly while at Tokyo Game Show 2025. We'll throw the rest of the interview down below if you'd like to watch (Phil is present for roughly the first hour of the video), where Xbox's current strategy of putting its games everywhere is also discussed.
