Final Fantasy 7 Remake Is Getting New 'Streamlined Progress' Features For Its Xbox Launch

Last Friday's Nintendo Direct officially confirmed to us that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on January 22nd, 2026 - and it's since been confirmed that the whole trilogy will be on Xbox too.

The other thing that we discovered a few hours later is that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will have new "streamlined progress" features when it arrives next year, designed to make the game easier.

Here's a quick overview of these features, along with a brief glimpse of them in action:

For those who don't quite understand this, the idea is for these features to resemble a "Story Mode" difficulty level of sorts, providing you with perks like maximum health and serious destructive skills in combat.

There's inevitibly been a bit of controversy around this since it was announced, with some questioning whether these features were necessary, but it's important to note that they're totally optional - so you can ignore them if you want to!

Anyway, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will be with us at the start of the year, and we're looking forward to getting the rest of the trilogy on Xbox at some point in the future. Rumour has it that Rebirth will arrive sometime in 2026 too.
