Capcom Coy On Future Resident Evil Remakes, But Discussions Are Underway

The Resident Evil resurgence is well and truly on after multiple successful remakes — with RE: Village wedged in between — and it seems that internal talk over what's next is already ongoing.

In a recent shareholder Q&A involving developer Capcom, the team was asked about "providing high-end visual remakes of only the main numbered entries in the Resident Evil series" - hinting at whether spin-offs like Code: Veronica were also up for consideration. Here's Capcom's brief response:

"[We are] carrying out discussions regarding the future expansion of this series so it can be enjoyed by a wide audience"

As you can see, Capcom is keeping its cards close to its chest right now regarding future RE remakes, but given the critical and commercial response to Resident Evil 4 Remake, we're not surprised to hear that additional remakes are being discussed over at Capcom.

It seems the team is keeping its finger on the pulse in regards to what fans want to see as well. Not only have we seen surveys asking players what remake they want next, but towards the end of this Q&A, Capcom again asked fans to "let us know if there are any other Resident Evil games you want remade". Code: Veronica, anyone?

Which RE title do you want to remade for current-gen systems? Let us know what your pick would be down in the comments section!
