CBS know their show sucks. Halo fans were told they didn’t even look at the games or the lore. They seem obsessed with Master Chief getting naked and leaving his helmet off at all times. It’s the classic bait-and-switch that they do with recent shows where they use a popular IP with an established fan base for the marketing, but make the story about a completely different character that most people hate just for the sake of politics.

All the GWG Xbox OG and 360 games are in my owned library - except Armed and Dangerous for the original Xbox. That one shows up in the Games with Gold section and shows an error when you try to access the community stuff.

This made me hungry. They’re not as meaty as chocolate-covered flying ants though.

BioWare used to be one of the GOATs. Loved all their games from KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, Baldurs Gate and Dragon Age. The sale to EA and the loss of the founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk seemed to be the end of them.

Get rid of Xbox Live Gold completely. Although if they did that, many people would downgrade from GPU to GamePass for Console and forgo the older EA titles and cloud stream.

It was really awful and nothing much like the Halo games. Glad I didn’t pay for Paramount+.

They're milking it, but GTA Online is still better and more fun than most online games.

I recently got Lego LOTR on disc and am enjoying that one a lot on XSX. Never played other LEGO games yet, but I can see the appeal.

I’m way out of date with the movies if that Falcon guy is Captain America now.

Looking forward to getting back into JK Rowling’s world. You can’t digitally buy any of the old games except Lego Harry Potter.

When I’m trashing a game for being awful, my last thought is to go on Twitter, find whoever develops it and give them grief.

That seems predictable based on console demographics.

If you don’t want to get an Xbox or Gamepass, you can get a PlayStation, PS Plus, Nintendo Switch, EA All Access, Ubisoft version, Steam, Epic Games, GOG, Stadia, GeForce Now, Apple Arcade, Google Play version.

I don’t think we’re lacking in competition and alternative options.

No One Lives Forever deserves a return. It was a better game than Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.

I just tested this with Prince of Persia. With a UK Xbox account on the US store page and using NordVPN, the Safari browser failed to complete payment and just froze. Once I downloaded and tried the Opera browser it worked and I can download and play the game.

Sounds like a Mass Effect Andromeda or Anthem decision. Future promises to keep up sales, then abandoned.

I'm glad this is less about Microsoft trying to destroy Sony, and more to do with preventing Amazon, Google and other vultures from gaining a foothold. Imagine if Tencent had bought Bethesda...

I know you want to bring your own political mantra into it, but to suggest that is plainly false. Your analogy doesn’t work. Hearing him speak about engineering problems shows why he is worth what he is. To revolutionise the EV industry or to build a space company that works alongside NASA is incredible alone - but to do both is insanely impressive. I’m not sure his haters can provide examples as to why he is an awful person other than a few tweets they didn’t like.

I didn’t get them, but when someone explained them I really didn’t like them. Apparently you can buy an NFT of a digital football shirt for your team which means you “own” that digitally on a blockchain and you can be invited to events and receive offers.. big wow. What was wrong with the old way of actually owning something tangible?

I dread to think what they paid him, but it will get the game recognised.

I can’t understand how anyone can be so fanatical over a company. I love my Xbox and Switch but I will still call out the BS from Microsoft and Nintendo, and so do many others around here also.

Some of the worst human suffering on earth and modern Uighur slavery to make your games console/tech vs a fratboy bro culture at Activision. Why do you think there is such a vast difference in the reporting, coverage and public response to each? It’s the equivalent of witnessing a natural disaster that displaces hundreds of thousands of people and then worrying about how some international popstar is going to be able to play their concert in that area.

If people care about the employees of the companies that make the products they use, maybe they can look into the sweatshops in China producing their games consoles or even the gruelling work conditions in Japan where the culture demands a lot more from its staff.

It's not that Xbox is better, but some of the Sony and Nintendo fanboys can be really zealous and annoying - so it's funny to see them getting trolled sometimes.

It's strange how Sony don't leverage their vast back catalogue of games. Nintendo are managing to dripfeed really old SNES and N64 games for a monthly fee.

I'm really happy with what we already have from FPS boost and backwards compatibility. I just hope Xbox will keep these enhancements going forward into any future console release. Series S/X should not be the last console that we can play old XB1, 360 or OG games at 60fps.
