The glass is half full, friend. It’s going to be great. It’s still a Bethesda game and will reasonably have Bethesda DNA in it like Fallout and Skyrim. They put so much ambition, effort and time into it to get a bit down on it so early.

@Titntin Because I like story RPGs and especially Bethesda RPGs. Fallout in space sounds incredible. This could be like a more serious version of The Outer Worlds - which was also good. No Man’s Sky was cool but it starts to feel like some first person version of Stardew Valley and can’t sustain my attention for long.

I feel you’re wrong about Starfield and you’ll be playing it next year when it releases.

Flying around the atmosphere of 1000 planets would get boring also. With a defined landing spot, the feeling of exploration can be better but it depends how they designed it. I’m thinking of games like Mass Effect, KOTOR and The Outer Worlds.

Also flying in the atmosphere would probably ruin the balance of the game. Imagine the gameplay teaser where they didn’t land in that specific location and you could just land on top of the outpost held by the crimson fleet. No point in seeing any of the planet along the way as you fly from objective marker to objective marker.

This game is going to be much better than No Man’s Sky.

This isn't even an issue, and I don't think it would improve gameplay experience for a game with a story. There needs to be set landing locations so you have to travel certain routes designed by the developers.

This means the 150,000 lines of dialogue will go much further. Great decision.

I would like them to finally release the multiplayer game RE:Verse that we got with RE Village.

Everyone should play this trilogy. It’s the best narrative experience I ever had - with rich lore to rival Star Wars in my opinion.

It’s much too pretty and adorbs to ever use.

Although it can go up to 4K120 in some games, the Xbox Series X is a solid 4K60 machine with Dolby Vision. That’s enough for me.

Thanks for validating my argument. If all the best features of the Xbox One are currently in the Xbox Series, then the XB1 couldn’t have been underrated. The XB1 is unnecessary to go back and use or feel nostalgia for.

The “same exact thing only with newer hardware” applies to all consoles. The Xbox One was underpowered and underwhelming from day one. It was an Xbox generation where it just made more sense to move to PC for performance and exclusives. Series X|S is a huge improvement for it’s completed backwards compatibility library, faster SSD loading, GamePass, quick resume and the reasonable price.

The Xbox One wasn’t good and almost destroyed Xbox. The Series S is (quite rightly) highly rated and has tonnes of promotion by fans. The OG Xbox was extremely underrated compared to the PS2.

It’s something you have to build up to get traction. The Xbox 360 laid humble groundwork, but the Xbox One launch ruined all of that.

Deus Ex is the greatest video game ever created, and it isn't even on Xbox. I'm sure bringing it to console could be a smaller project like Bethesda did with Quake.

343 Halo and Paramount Halo are terrible. At least we still have the Bungie Halo and the MCC - a much better experience.

Time for Xbox to secure some excellent JRPG exclusives.

CBS know their show sucks. Halo fans were told they didn’t even look at the games or the lore. They seem obsessed with Master Chief getting naked and leaving his helmet off at all times. It’s the classic bait-and-switch that they do with recent shows where they use a popular IP with an established fan base for the marketing, but make the story about a completely different character that most people hate just for the sake of politics.

All the GWG Xbox OG and 360 games are in my owned library - except Armed and Dangerous for the original Xbox. That one shows up in the Games with Gold section and shows an error when you try to access the community stuff.

This made me hungry. They’re not as meaty as chocolate-covered flying ants though.

BioWare used to be one of the GOATs. Loved all their games from KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, Baldurs Gate and Dragon Age. The sale to EA and the loss of the founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk seemed to be the end of them.

Get rid of Xbox Live Gold completely. Although if they did that, many people would downgrade from GPU to GamePass for Console and forgo the older EA titles and cloud stream.

It was really awful and nothing much like the Halo games. Glad I didn’t pay for Paramount+.

They're milking it, but GTA Online is still better and more fun than most online games.

I recently got Lego LOTR on disc and am enjoying that one a lot on XSX. Never played other LEGO games yet, but I can see the appeal.

I’m way out of date with the movies if that Falcon guy is Captain America now.

Looking forward to getting back into JK Rowling’s world. You can’t digitally buy any of the old games except Lego Harry Potter.

If you don’t want to get an Xbox or Gamepass, you can get a PlayStation, PS Plus, Nintendo Switch, EA All Access, Ubisoft version, Steam, Epic Games, GOG, Stadia, GeForce Now, Apple Arcade, Google Play version.

I don’t think we’re lacking in competition and alternative options.

No One Lives Forever deserves a return. It was a better game than Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.

I just tested this with Prince of Persia. With a UK Xbox account on the US store page and using NordVPN, the Safari browser failed to complete payment and just froze. Once I downloaded and tried the Opera browser it worked and I can download and play the game.

Sounds like a Mass Effect Andromeda or Anthem decision. Future promises to keep up sales, then abandoned.

I'm glad this is less about Microsoft trying to destroy Sony, and more to do with preventing Amazon, Google and other vultures from gaining a foothold. Imagine if Tencent had bought Bethesda...
