If they can promise a disc drive, internal or external, to play our entire libraries, then I think this could salvageable for me.

It would be fine if they delayed it until there are better market conditions or the technology catches up so they can get a Series S into a handheld for reasonable prices, but their PR has been terrible and the Xbox ROG Ally is disappointing if you actually have an Xbox library. It's an "Xbox" for people that are new to Xbox, and those people are probably better off buying a Steam Deck.

Xbox needs an entire leadership change and a new direction. They're useless and have created all this bad news and publicity.

I don't value these Xbox social features enough to verify. It might even be a more beneficial experience to have them disabled. Not sure what I'll do if forced for a platform I like - such as YouTube.

I don't want to support GamePass anymore, and I don't want to continue building a library on Xbox. I will enjoy my backlog and hope an exploit is found for the Series/One consoles one day.

They don't serve the customer/gamer anymore. Feels like they're just socially engineering the future of gaming by figuring out how people will slowly accept worse terms and conditions.

The final straw for me with Xbox.

It always was. Many people say the Series S is "holding gaming back", but in reality it's holding back ballooning costs of nonsensical console revisions like the PS5 Pro. It's also forcing UE5 devs to do better with optimisation.

The reason for a new console is to be able to handle the bloated Unreal Engine 5 and upcoming Unreal Engine 6 games.

The first game was an immersive sim RPG with branching story and exploration. The closest games being the Deus Ex series, Prey, Thief and Dishonored. It's really, really good, but PC only.

20-30 backwards compatible Original Xbox titles released. They can look through the Activision catalogue.

He's trying too hard to be a Hollywood guy that subverts expectations.

Xbox is forced to comply, but this legislation has nothing to do with protecting children. It's more about removing anonymity and allowing the government to identify everything you do online in case they need to prosecute for speech crimes.

Genuinely interested in this one. The original movie with Uncle Frank gave me nightmares because I watched it too young.

The initiative doesn't ask for eternal support. Companies are going to try to misrepresent this to make it seem like they're being reasonable. They could stop supporting their game after just 6 months and it wouldn't matter. Just leave a playable game that people paid for, an offline version, or allow people to setup their own dedicated servers.

I buy games on sale because I don't plan to always have GamePass since I got the 3 year stack deal.

Xbox needs a fixed console spec regardless. They have development teams creating games for server blades running Cloud and Play Anywhere, that need to be optimised for those specs.

Wouldn't it be easier to just bring the whole Master Chief Collection version, combine the player base, and add Xbox login to get Playstation players into their tent?

You're both probably right, on reflection. We aren't the target audience for this.

We had Halo CE Anniversary, and then the Master Chief Collection. This is unnecessary.

It's boring with cringe 2023 dialogue and the characters look horrible. The entire galaxy is a current-day US city in space with cowboys, pirates, corpos and starbucks, but without aliens or anything interesting. It's hard to get invested or immersed in, and most of the other content and exploration is procedurally generated so you know you're wasting your time.

It's a big disappointment for me since it's the first game I bought at full price in 10 years, and I also bought the limited edition headset and controller - which I recently sold.

Is Microsoft altering the EULAs for everything. Update to comply.

I'm not sticking around for the first cloud-only Xbox games.

Microsoft have told lots of people, lots of things. Only they know if it's profitable and they would never reveal it publicly, but they would regularly increase the price and reduce the output to save money if it wasn't.

If it was sustainable, they wouldn't need to keep increasing the price.

The gameplay looked good like Deus Ex, Prey or Dishonored. Shame about the design of Joanna Dark, which suggests other issues.

This practice should be illegal. They should have made it playable offline.

It looks like a great game, but I never spend more than $20 on digital games.

I have around 500 games and only 10 are Play Anywhere. Not sure it will ever be good because of licensing.

I loved Quake 3 Arena most, but can't see it being as good on console without custom maps and with a controller.

Quake 4 had a disappointing Xbox 360 port that ran terribly, so that might be better.

Just make this available in all regions. It doesn't matter if the QR code is US specific.

I wish they would let us disable achievements also. I want my profile to only show recent games played, and maybe stats like total time played.

Microsoft should make sure that Nvidia and Intel can run these also.

I was planning on switching to PC, so this is the best possible news if true. I get to retain my large Xbox digital library.

That was Helldivers 2, and then they self-destructed for some reason..

People are turning away from this horrific art style, character designs and corporate slop shooters. Sony spent hundreds of millions on Concord and now they spent hundreds of millions on Concord 2. Disastrous!

I've lost a lot of confidence and interest in Xbox and their strategy for me to continue purchases, so this is great news that they will preserve my huge existing library and it will likely be playable on PC. I bought all 50-something OG Xbox titles, around 250 Xbox 360 titles and 80 Xbox One/Series games digitally which might turn out well.

I guess moving to PC and just signing into the app still makes me an Xbox user since I don't want to move to PlayStation or Nintendo. Good move, Microsoft.

I got rid of all my subscriptions except YouTube Premium and GamePass. I won't be renewing GamePass when it runs out next year.

Xbox-branded that can only play 10% of my Xbox library. I'm sure it's better for new games going into GamePass, but useless for the libraries we already paid for.

Looks so bad. The guy doesn't even look like a suave Bond. He has a huge scar on his face as though he's Blofeld. The supporting cast aren't interesting. Disappointing.
