Re: Reaction: Xbox's Push Towards 'Microsoft Gaming' Looks More Drastic Than We First Thought

The Steam Deck in its stock configuration is not a walled garden though. It can run anything that is compatible with Linux. If Square-Enix, EA, Ubisoft or Microsoft wanted to release a launcher for it, they can. It sounds like you’re talking about compatibility - which is what they’re working on. The launcher on SteamOS makes sense for a handheld and gives it a good experience to use. Windows 11 ad spyware is not optimised for handhelds which is why the battery life sucks.

These games are much better than the Survivor trilogy. I enjoyed that they didn’t hold your hand and give you waypoints on where to go next. You need to explore everything and do risky acrobatic moves. The old controls have a charm to them and make these games a different genre compared to a typical third-person shooter. Agreed on the lighting of some scenes in remastered graphics.

Re: Xbox Fans Urged To Remain Calm As Emotions Run Wild On Social Media

Xbox fans aren’t contracted to defend Microsoft’s corporate vision and future plans. It isn’t about stopping PlayStation users from playing some games. This is about Microsoft removing all reason to buy an Xbox, killing all the buzz around the console, and inevitably seeing more third parties not bother developing for it. A death spiral.

Microsoft better get their business event right because all eyes will be on it just like the second Xbox One reveal event. Any anti-consumer practices like the “adorably all-digital” Series X aren’t going to fly.
