MS has gotta be sweating bullets this morning! Very interesting proposition for a console only gamer like me. Price is going to be a huge factor but this is certainty something I'd consider if reasonable

Essential at the moment just for multi-player. Once we move on from the games we're playing will get canceled until needed again

Got a ton of milage and fun from out S over the last 4 years. Was a great purchase for essentially $200 brand new but obviously not the case anymore. Doesn't really serve much of a purpose for us now, with everything jumping over it's mainly just a crossplay machine for a handful of games with my kids. Was a well executed device and I'm glad I got in when I did!

Don't feel much about Halo specifically, played enough of the series and not really itching for more. Though it does hammer home the point, for me, that having an Xbox moving forward is an unnecessary purchase.

How do you all have time to write a dozen essays on one article lol. Go play some games guys

Got a chance to try it out today, one of my neighbors bought it. It's a very capable piece of tech. Played a few races in FH5, some Gears on the cloud and even remote played to my own PS5 at home. All worked flawlessly and the ergonomics are top notch. That being said I would say I'm "interested" in it just cause I love new gadgets and tech, but at the price point and not really being invested in Gamepass/Steam atm it's not worth the cost of entry. Very very solid piece of equipment though, if you're an enthusiast and willing to spend I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Walmart near my house only had a few Xbox games, no systems, not even controllers/accessories on display. The one near my office was stocked as normal. Every store is different, these pics are more for narratives than facts imo.

Once it hits EA Play I'll run through the campaign. No interest at all in the MP

They've flip flopped on too many things last couple years to really say it's set in stone. That being said not having a Next ox would be terrible for us all. Even though I most likely wouldn't get one, Sony needs at least some competition

@kantaroo you are certainly correct. They have diminished points in a number of different areas if you're not an Ultimate sub.

As for the topic, if this happened by itself wouldn't be a big deal probably. But with all the other bad news last couple months it just comes across so scummy. I doubt giving a discount to your most entrenched customers is making a big dent in their bottom line, just terrible optics all around.

My Ultimate sub expires tomorrow, will just let it lapse and start using the meager rewards points from here on out on an Amazon gift card here and there. Will sell our S and get another year of PS plus/Switch online. I may dip in for a month or 2 when Horizon 6 releases and play on the cloud (dependent on the gap between the PS5 release) but with all the changes and lack of exclusives that appeal to me, no real point in trying to keep up with 3 ecosystems at this point. Obv things can drastically change in the future but there's no pull to stay within the Xbox system for me at the moment,

Yikes, lost all its value for me at this point. Was great while it lasted but think I'll just be PS/Switch from here on out.

Knew something like this would happen eventually. Used rewards points for years and never paid out of pocket for GP. Our Xbox barely gets any playtime nowadays so not the end of the world, but we definitely got our "money's" worth over the years.

@RadioHedgeFund fully agreed on the wheel spins, or at the very least move cosmetics/horns to a totally different system. Nothing more frustrating than getting 4 horns in a row, 2 pairs of sunglasses and a skirt for my male character as "rewards"

Sad to hear, one of my favorite overall franchises ever. Have played every single one since the beginning. Not hugely surprising but still a shame.

Tried probably 5 or 6 times to get into it but just got bored. Not at all a bad game just didn't quite scratch the Mass Effect itch I was hoping for,

D. The glut of Souls games is getting silly at these showcases. Couple neat looking games that I probably won't play unless they come to GP/Plus. Glad they cut down the time but not a good one at all.

Xbox has always been just a gamepass machine for me personally. Only bought 2 games in the 4+ years of having one and have gotten hundreds of hours of enjoyment from a "free" subscription. I highly doubt I'll invest in the Next-box u less it's wildly appealing, but as long as cloud streaming works as flawlessly as it does our little S will always have an hdmi spot saved for it!

Absolutely not if I was buying into it at the moment. The one system seller they had, for me, is now on another console, gamepass has pretty consistently lost its appeal as of late, and none of the exclusives on the horizon really do much to get me going. I'm happy with our S and glad I bought it but no way I'd pay $400 for one

No probably not. With the way things are headed I doubt I'll ever buy any more Xbox hardware in the future, no real point based on current circumstances

This is unfortunate to see. I've definitely milked the rewards program for years now to get "free" gamepass. Hopefully they introduce some new earning methods with this change. With everything going to the other box at this point not sure it's worth paying money for me personally.

I'm all for it, MS is probably the only ones that can do what they're doing out of the big 3. Though they've made it abundantly clear for me that I don't really need their hardware anymore moving forward, I'm pleased with the direction

South of Midnight looks terrific! Rest really aren't my jam but I'll probably romp around Doom for a bit eventually. Solid show just not much for my personal tastes

MS rewards are still more than enough to pay for Ultimate on a monthly basis so definitely haven't considered. Cloud is a major selling point as well, doubt I'll downgrade in the future

Absolutely loved these as a kid, hopefully Defiance gets remastered as well. Glad the package seems to be reviewing well, will definitely pickup!

Sensational game, still give 5 the edge because if the setting but still had 100s of hours of fun with this one. Hopefully 6 isn't too far out!

Id most likely buy this if for no other reason than just for trophies. After a thousand hours or so I'm pretty over FH5, but still a brilliant game I'd be happy to support if true

My kids are totally hooked on it with their friends. I had a good time with the campaign and zombies is a pretty good time as well. Brilliant move putting it on GP!

Average so far. Few glitches and bugs but nothing outrageous. I'd go maybe 5 or 6/10 from what I've pllayed thus far

It will be $219 @ BJs on black Friday in the US. A few retailers last few years have done the S + $50 gift card for $250 essentially making it $199. Expect similar bundles this year

Great news! I could never really get into the game personally after 5 or 6 attempts but always great more people get to play more games!

Solid game, its no Horizon but has a lot of variety and is good fun to play. Well worth a buck

My. God of it's Forza I'll totally spend a few more hundred hours playing on the PS5. Can't.think of any others that would really move the needle for me but look forward to the news nonetheless

3 different tiers is the absolute max they can do. I'm actually surprised a cloud only tier hasn't been introduced thus far, I'd definitely consider it if it included day one releases

Not terrible but nothing really special thus far. Our Xbox has been reduced to a Forza/MLB/Ocassional crossplay box for the last few months or so. Not that thats bad thing just hasn't been a standout 1st half of the year at all

B+, great pacing, very little wasted time, lots of games even those that aren't my cup of tea looked great. Much better than expected, by far the best of the summer!

C, was a good production overall, the expected ads weren't too obtrusive for the most part which is a plus. Really only 1 game I'd consider buying but I can appreciate the variety

Love our little S, never had any issues with it and it plays everything we throw at it perfectly fine. Thought about going to the X many times but just not really worth it for us. Even if it died not sure I would buy another one as they're so cheap nowadays. Glad MS gave us the option.
