Favourite Xbox game would probably be unicorn overlord but overall it’s between astrobot and stellar blade.

The new Zelda in a few weeks may or may not change that!

@mcdreamer yeah is a shame but I wonder if that situation is being mirrored here in the uk also. I went into a major electronics retailer here at the weekend and while paying they had loads of ps5 peripherals and games behind the counter, also quite a lot for switch and literally just a couple of controllers for Xbox.

Granted that’s just one example but if that’s replicated elsewhere it’s not a good look.

Jeff Grub has said Sony may have helped the devs with development and they may have prioritised ps5 due to Asia’s larger install base rather than an exclusivity deal.

@Banjo- what did “some people” anticipate in terms of sales? This was a test from MS as even they didn’t have any idea of sales except for estimates which I’m sure 1m for this game would be at the top end of their projections?

Remember this isn’t a AAA game, is old and hasn’t been out that long. I would have thought Rare would be quite happy with those numbers.

The likes of Indy and Forza I’m sure would perform much better.

Like others have said elsewhere, Phil needs to stop making Xbox’s problems appear to be industry-wide problems.

Also after spending $100 billion surely they must be more sure than “just think this [strategy] will work for us?”

Consoles have always been behind PC tech even as they launch.

I think I just feel (with maybe the exception of ratchet and clank warping through worlds) no game has really screamed next gen to me.

@theduckofdeath not quite dude. Sonys market cap is about $105b currently which is about 75x the increase you mentioned.

I’m looking forward to this but it’ll have to be special for it to beat stellar blade as my current GOTY.

The lines between generations is definitely blurred and there’s no way I’m ready for an “upgrade” while this gen is still waiting to lift off.

I might just stick with current gen for the next cycle seeing how well ps4 has been supported this generation.

This looks cool and a welcome break from what I’ve been playing. Might give it a shot!

Do you mean gross revenue? Profit is the amount after costs have been deducted.

@ALK other companies weren’t giving lip service to try and get an acquisition passed by saying they wouldn’t increase prices and lay people off.

@BAMozzy the difference is probably because Sony never said all games day one, MS did and now it’s a confusing mess.

I would have bought single player dlc and as it stands I’ve not spent a penny on GTA online.

It was a great show but tbh it shouldn’t have been anything less after spending $100 billion on studios.

Loved the look of a lot of these but I went with perfect dark just because it was much better looking than I was expecting.

This year was only let down by Sony really imo. While they had some great games on show their lack of first party output was disappointing.

MS and Nintendo definitely held the batton this year for my tastes anyway.

@Banjo- @Gamer83 unless you want to play it on the move or in bed or wherever then I’d say the switch version is best!

I feel like companies use just the news of inflation as an excuse to increase prices and I’m not singling MS out here just they look an example of this.

It was a great show but let’s face it, after spending so much on activision etc, it really should have been!

I have a feeling MS are going to have a good show.

Their relatively low output in recent years plus their acquisitions really should mean an increased number of releases at some point and this could be it.

Tbh I feel they need a good show right now.

I’m sure the RROD taught them many lessons and is a situation they don’t want to repeat.

@MaccaMUFC I wonder if they’ll have a separate “CoD” tier? That way those interested can upgrade/pay more and those that aren’t bothered can stay on their existing/cheaper tier?

@themightyant yep MS we’re certainly singing a different tune while the acquisitions were going through. Just like politicians promise the world while being elected.

Turns out MS have done yet another 180 and gone back on their word. Not a good look, I won’t trust them at all from now on.
