Interesting my comment vanished from earlier saying nothing with an ‘X’ in the name such as Xbox Series One X.

This is the thing with MS, they’re always vocal, saying so much but there’s never any substance to their words.

It’s all so vague and generic so trying to second guess them is impossible.

They lost me at windows 11.

I actually liked the FH5 map as it felt “flowing” to me.

Japan looks lovely too though.

This is why Xbox fries my brain. The constant backtracking, mixed messaging and seeming lack of direction is crazy.

I lost touch with cod many years ago, how are people not bored of this yet?!

Series x the same as base ps5 as to be expected. The lack of console footage though is still a little bit concerning for such an ambitious game.

I’m definitely holding off for now.

I mean if sharma and the new execs still want everything to be an Xbox and they intend to have a high end console, I can’t imagine they’ll also forgo a cheaper version to attract more budgets.

To me it seems crazy such a massive corporation can be so all over the place for so long. They lack direction, conviction and give me no confidence in anything they say or do.

@FraserG maybe an idea for future hookshot media sites reviewing live service games would be to give it a 3 stage review - day 1, then 2 weeks and then 3-6 months for example?

They are just completely directionless and nobody has a clue where they’re headed or what’s going on. For such a big brand that’s a problem.

They need to clarify and clarify quickly in my opinion.

@Balaam_ same. If this had a SP campaign I’d be in. As it is I have no interest in it.

@OldGamer999 yeah well you never know now sharma’s in charge and focusing on “console” together with what sounds like a delay in next gen, a series x pro could be on the cards.

Probably still unlikely but I’d say definitely has more of a chance than it did 6 months ago!

Honestly with Microsoft and Xbox you never know. They’ve made as many 180’s as they did 360’s! I feel anything can change at any time, echoing sharma’s own quote this week of it’s the plan until it isn’t!

It would have been better if she just said I’m not a gamer, I have no gamertag but I’m brilliant at my job and that’s all that counts. Give me a chance and I’ll show that to be true, isn’t that all that matters here?

@OldGamer999 you’re right but I think Phil wasn’t completely correct saying they lost during the ps4 era. I mean they did of course and it probably was the majority but there were also lots like myself that moved to ps before that at the end of the 360/ps3 era when it became apparent Kinect was their focus.

This was also a time when ps were kicking it out the park with single player exclusives. Then came the don mattrick xbone fiasco which didn’t win me back and it feels like they’ve been on a slippery slope since.

I adored the OG Xbox and first two thirds of the 360’s life but since then the brand lost its way in my opinion and the constant 180’s has got them to a point where I don’t even think the leadership know what to do. Sharma included by the sound of her vague comments.

@BAMozzy I’m sure having to stay around for the transition would have been contractual in order to receive her payout. If that is indeed what happened.

I wasn’t Phil’s biggest fan but do realise he was between a rock and a hard place with nadella steering things.

He also had an almost impossible job after the nightmare he inherited from Mattrick.

Wish him a happy retirement and will be interesting to see where Xbox goes from here.

If it’s optimised for the pro I’ll get it there.

Sony are absolutely insane to let bluepoint go.

This is a great game but the totally cheesy voice acting put me off.

Ubisoft try way too hard to be cool and that in itself makes it very not cool.

Though the developers said no ps5 pro version was made. The pro plays the base ps5 version.

An even less rewarding rewards system.

I’d say if you’re on the fence about the ally or switch 2 now is a good time to buy, unless you’re in Japan lol

I’d rather have a switch 2 pro controller which has quickly become my favourite controller of all. So comfortable!

On a serious note one thing I’d like them to improve is for the dialogue to be less cheesy. It’s like they’re trying hard to make it cool. Not cool.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see horizon hunters on Xbox at some point…

I love new hardware like everyone else but I’m more than happy for new Xbox’s and PlayStation’s to be delayed.

I’m happy for starfield not to come to switch but please please please can we get a portable Forza on there?!

If reports are to be believed last years COD underperformed especially compared to battlefield. Having such a big release underperform would make a big dent in the figures on its own.

It’s still surprising though considering their ps5 games seemingly doing well, especially Forza.

Looked great on my pro with the performance/quality combined option!

Weird they didn’t recognise that version considering they did all other models.

It’s not the hardware, more the developers optimisation.

There’s no excuse for this and you only have to look at how smooth cyberpunk is on switch 2 which is much more demanding than Skyrim.

This was part of their china hero project so partly funded by Sony and possibly the reason it’s making it to market at all. Is no real surprise there’s an exclusivity deal really.
