Re: Xbox Series X Gets Major 'Just For You' Discount On The Microsoft Store

@themightyant how are you certain they’re using a loss leader? Are you privy to their margins and costs?

People used to say this about a large food retailer here in the UK and I actually found out from someone high up years later they never sold at a loss just to entice people into the store. Despite that being a widely held belief.

@GuyinPA75 yes agreed. By the time of that E3 show I’d already sold my 360 for a ps3 to play all the amazing exclusives Sony had at the time. Also Xbox were running hard with Kinect which I wasn’t interested in.

I was open to them winning me back with the xbone launch but if anything it had the opposite effect and pushed me further away!

Don’t the my see how embarrassing they’re being with such a load of vague messaging, continuous 180’s and poor communication?

To me it seems crazy such a massive corporation can be so all over the place for so long. They lack direction, conviction and give me no confidence in anything they say or do.

I hope Sharma manages to change that.

Re: Xbox Says 'Hardware Announcements Are Coming Up' As Team Looks Ahead To Next-Gen

@OldGamer999 you’re right but I think Phil wasn’t completely correct saying they lost during the ps4 era. I mean they did of course and it probably was the majority but there were also lots like myself that moved to ps before that at the end of the 360/ps3 era when it became apparent Kinect was their focus.

This was also a time when ps were kicking it out the park with single player exclusives. Then came the don mattrick xbone fiasco which didn’t win me back and it feels like they’ve been on a slippery slope since.

I adored the OG Xbox and first two thirds of the 360’s life but since then the brand lost its way in my opinion and the constant 180’s has got them to a point where I don’t even think the leadership know what to do. Sharma included by the sound of her vague comments.

Re: Phil Spencer Announces That He's Retiring From Xbox

I wasn’t Phil’s biggest fan but do realise he was between a rock and a hard place with nadella steering things.

He also had an almost impossible job after the nightmare he inherited from Mattrick.

Wish him a happy retirement and will be interesting to see where Xbox goes from here.
