Open-world action adventure game Crimson Desert is right around the corner, releasing for Xbox and other platforms on March 19th, and we've been treated to the official console specs today.
It turns out that Crimson Desert has three difference performance modes on Xbox Series X, with those being broken down into 30FPS, 40FPS and 60FPS targets. Here's what you can expect on Series X:
| Category | Performance | Balanced | Quality |
|---|---|---|---|
| Resolution | 1080p | Upscaled 4K (from 1280p, FSR 3) | Upscaled 4K (from 1440p, FSR 3) |
| Target Performance | 60FPS VSync / 60+FPS VRR | 40FPS VSync | 30FPS VSync |
| Raytracing Quality | Raytracing Low | Raytracing Low | Raytracing High |
In addition to this, the Xbox Series S version of Crimson Desert will come with two performance modes, and those are "Performance" and "Quality". Performance targets 40FPS at 720p and Quality targets 30FPS at 1080p, but there's an asterisk next to the 40FPS option that mentions you need a 120Hz/240Hz monitor (same as on Series X).
We even have details on the ROG Xbox Ally version of Crimson Desert too! The Xbox Ally X comes with three preset performance modes that target 30FPS, 40FPS and 60FPS thanks to the FSR 3 Super Resolution and Frame Generation technologies, while the cheaper Xbox Ally just features one 40FPS preset mode at 40FPS.
If you're waiting for footage of all this, you're not alone — and Digital Foundry has confirmed that it'll be looking at the console versions of Crimson Desert ASAP and will be able to inform of any issues in time for launch next week.
