Report: Two Of Xbox's Upcoming First-Party Titles Are In Development For PS5

Microsoft's multiplatform plan is now in full swing, with two more of its big games making their way to PS5 next month in the form of Hellblade 2 and Gears of War: Reloaded. While those two titles are both locked in for August 2025, we're now hearing that another pair of Xbox games are being developed for PS5 as well.

The folks over at MP1st have done some digging recently, to find a couple of intriguing job roles over at Xbox Game Studios. Basically, there are roles at both The Coalition and Undead Labs that list PS5 as target platforms for their upcoming releases - those being Gears of War: E-Day and State of Decay 3, respectively.

This perhaps shouldn't be a major surprise, especially in the case of Gears E-Day. Xbox is moving at full speed to bring the long-time Xbox franchise to other platforms, with Gears Reloaded already confirmed for PS5. E-Day also works as a reboot of sorts and is set before the first Gears of War; a great jumping-off point for brand-new Gears games launching on PS5.

State of Decay 3's inclusion here is perhaps more of a surprise, especially given that the first two games aren't on PlayStation platforms. Still, Microsoft is clearly pushing forward with this new plan, and seemingly anything is on the table at this stage.

Before we sign off here, we must add that neither of these PS5 ports have been announced by Microsoft at this stage, and it remains to be seen if and when these titles will be moved over. They could be day and date, after their Xbox launches or maybe never - we'll just have to wait and see what happens!

Are you surprised by either of these potentially going to PS5? Talk to us about this report down below.
