I think that was bad move by her. Even if they dumped bunch money at her. It really doesn't matter when Netflix inevitably fails in gaming world and she's then out of a job.
@BAMozzy I absolutely NEVER, EVER, get excited about game showcase.
It is incredibly annoying see game that looks fun, then at end it says, "Coming Fall 2095".
I IMMEDIATELY lose ALL interest and just not care about playing it at that point and never end up playing the game. Too big chance, game will get canceled, delayed into eternity, be broken on release, etc.
The Six Month Rule is the only way to go. When developers started following that I'll actually care about the game, and get excited to play it.
@Tasuki Oh and another HUGE thing no one is considering. What if internet connection is down? You have ZERO access to that game, that movie, that TV show, that documentary. Nothing. Zero.
Storms knock internet off to LOT people. Sometimes for days.
Can't access anything you ow... I mean renting the rights to then.
@Tasuki Here is what people really need consider when thinking all digital is greatest thing since sliced bread.
Price gouging will be more prevalent and worse. Why isn't digital games cheaper day one than physical release? Where is shipping cost? Where is cost of making and printing disc? Packaging costs? Where is warehouse cost to store and move during release? Where are return costs? Yet, today, we are looking at $80-$100 games? If ask me, a $80 physical game should be no more than $65 on digital. At most.
We own nothing. Zero. Nada. Zilch. Only renting the "rights" to whatever it is. That's all.
Want to watch a movie or TV show? Well what streaming service is it on today? Spend time searching for nothing that is simply unneeded annoyance and inconvenience. Was on such-and-such last month? Great it moved to another place? Oh? Now I have subscribe (pay even more money) to another or new streaming service. If able hold that movie or TV series in my hand, I can just insert in player. Not have pay anymore since own it. Not have search find whatever streaming service it's on. Then not forget for person like me that has nice home theater setup. The physical disc experience and performance is vastly superior in picture and sound compared to streaming.
That's tip of iceberg. Digital is not as good as people think it will be. Trust me.
I thought on that too. Dead by daylight had Micheal Myers character in it. So had me ruling Myers out.
Daylight also had Freddy too. I'm just thinking since Elm St needs to have dreams versus stalk and slaughter. That may lead to some different gameplay/element/mechanics.
Not sure how to implement that? But really does offer something different not already done. Would have me curious for sure.
Also like to add, this goes out to all those all digital fanboys - - this is what you'll get. Do you want $80-$100 games? Really? Do you?
Price gouging will be the norm. Physical media is not broke. Why try fix it. No need to. People have no idea what they're asking for. When see how bad getting screwed. Will be too late. Nothing but nonstop, biting the pillow.
$80 is completely pricing me out buying new games. I have can afford it, yes. But I simply can not, will not, justify that price point for video game. Just not happening.
There is no reason to charge that much for a video game. None. Scale back costs. Do games need high expense voice actors? No. I could do just as good work and my pay be less than what pay voice actors now. I'm not joking, either.
I have plenty of backlog to play that last me probably for year or two. So I can wait for decent sale or just never buy at that price.
Justice League, absolutely, positively, unequivocally, totally, should been just a single player game with maybe 4 player co-op.
Forcing the game to basically be live service model, just to chase money, was pure failure. Whoever made that decision should never be allowed to work in gaming ever again.
This is probably how the real and honest conversation behind closed doors went:
The "complexity is, we want to make sure the consumer, owns nothing, will always be forced to rent everything, and have zero rights to anything that consumer ever purchases. We will continue to tout how awesome being all digital could be. Then after the consumer is locked in and consumer then realizes the grift is in full effect, past point of no return, and understands it's truly a terrible idea, we pull the rug out from under them. Leaving all screwed over.
Was very, very excited for Dune Spice Wars. Played day one on game pass. The font was soooooo unreadable and small in that game, I quit playing after about 30 mins.
Followed couple updates see if that would be addressed. Did not see anything. Deleted game. Never looked back.
@Lup Far as Clair Obscure, Heard, turn based combat, immediately lost all interest.
It also hits on HUGE personal pet peeve of mine. Stupid names, stupid titles. Any time see any those it automatically sends me into a Seinfeld rage.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Whose Clair? Why she obscur? How did she get so obscur? Why she on an expedition? Why not just call it Expedition 33? Why add a name on inanimate object? We don't say Jenny Concealed Appalachian Trial? Do we?No. We don't. We don't say that.
@ValentineMeikin Ummm, I really think it's not because of Trump as much it is because of greed. Remember when companies used covid as excuse to charge more, for sake of just charging more. "Covid tax" was just greedy and disgusting grift on consumers.
But yours (and I'm right with you) is perfect example of why Game Pass is worst idea in gaming and why Xbox Live was superior.
If we drop game pass. How do we play online then? From my understanding, game pass replaced Xbox Live as way play games online (except free to play games). Meaning we are stuck paying for game pass in some manner.
@IOI Oh, I've said that for close two years now on here. Absolutely going see Grift Pass hit around $50 dollars in few years if Microsoft wants it to survive.
Much, much, much, much, much, much, much, Preferred Xbox Live. Was able get 12 month card $40-$50 every year. If Grift Pass did the same for Ultimate 12 month card for $100 I'd be more forgiving about Grift Pass.
@Ricky-Spanish Oh I agree 120% the "advancement" from to gen to gen at this point is joke.
For me, if someone played something from Xbox One and Xbox Series X, the only difference think I'd say is solid state drives and quick resume. Games for most part look and play the same.
Let's hope this new Xbox is legit advancement. Not getting my hopes up as truly believe it will be very much like Xbox version of the Switch.
@WildConcept6 The Series S is not only an unnecessary disaster, but, you actually have it completely, totally absolutely, unequivocally, backwards - the Series S is holding back the Series X since any developer has to factor in the Series S into its development. Which is disaster with it being a less powerful, and less capable console when compared to Series X.
But do truly appreciate your contribution to the conversation, despite having it backwards.

Or...maybe the glitch that locked the main quest so not able advance is still present?
Is very reason I never finished it years ago.

For YEARS on site I've predicted this. Also believe the next "console" very similar mindset.

@Tasuki Tarrifs are the new excuse to raise prices. Pretty much like the "COVID charge" places tried to use to grift money from people.
Re: 'Huge' Number Of People Cancelling DOOM Pre-Orders Over 'Botched Physical Release'
All digital is such terrible, terrible, idea. Really wish people would wake up and see this.
Pretty soon, it will be too late, and nothing left to do, except bite the pillow, cause companies be going in rough.

After the recent, unnecessary price increases, maybe are realizing charging $1,000,000 for gaming console is dumb idea?

@BacklogBrad Sounds like Citibank. That's another company that has poor history and consistently terrible CEOs and management.

@TheGameThrifter Nadella is destroying Microsoft, more, and more, every year.

Re: Three Games Are Available This Week With Xbox Game Pass (May 13-16)
Really wanted to enjoy the first Warhammer: Vermintide. But the game had incredible soap opera effect in the graphics. Hurt my eyes. Gave me headache.
Only other game did that to me was Rage 1 on the Xbox 360.
Both games really wanted to play. Just couldn't do it.

Re: Lots Of Xbox Games Have Suddenly Been Delisted In Some Countries
@Fiendish-Beaver Believe that usually you'll be able to re-download.
But, and this important part to ALWAYS remember, if Microsoft shuts servers down, for any reason, then you are out luck.
Remember that, when people constantly preech, that all digital is sooooooo wonderful.
Re: Lots Of Xbox Games Have Suddenly Been Delisted In Some Countries
Being all digital is amazing isn't it!?!
Can't wait for EVERYTHING to be just only digital. It's sooooooo convenient to own nothing you pay for.
Really hope people wake up soon, and fight against it. It's only the beginning. It WILL NOT get better.
