Re: Microsoft CEO Chimes In As Indiana Jones Surpasses Four Million Players On Xbox & PC

GuyinPA75

......and that helps recover the costs making the game? How?

Say studio gets 3% of game pass $19.99 which is .599. At approximately 4,000,000 people. Let's just say it's $2.4 million.

If game was $30 million to develop, looking at loss $27.6 million. The business model absolutely not sustainable.

Going be really hard change my mind we'll not see game pass hit $50 a month by 2027.

Re: Xbox Boss Dismisses Idea Of Removing The Series S Parity Clause

GuyinPA75

@Ricky-Spanish @Isolte The not being able to afford a console really should be priority thing people, really, really, really, really, really need ask themselves, first. If can "afford" spend $350 for console but $150 more is out your price range?!? That person really needs to sit down and ask themselves, if buying a console - - at all - - is even responsible decision for them.

Accountability, and lack of basic responsibility, is already an issue far more growing crisis with people in the world right now (even MORE prevalent in younger generations today). Decisions have consequences. Very much like I should NOT have pay for someone else's student loans (especially when I paid mine).

Re: Xbox Boss Dismisses Idea Of Removing The Series S Parity Clause

@Medic_alert I understand where you are coming from.

My.whole take is, does the Series S have issues playing games this gen? Yes, hear about it often and for good while heard it weekly. Does PS5 have issues playing games in all the variations of PS5? I've not heard any. There very well may be. But not hear about anywhere close to Series S issues. Is that helping Xbox sell or win good PR? Nope. Not even on good day.

And my second point is Microsoft have history of making great products but fail to promote them properly. Zune, Band, kinect (yes, it was awesome, imagine if came out during pandemic with the built in Skype, most likely gave Switch run for its money), and Windows Phone just to name few amazing products.

Microsoft is their own worst enemy. All. The. Time.

Re: Xbox Boss Dismisses Idea Of Removing The Series S Parity Clause

@Fiendish-Beaver I like your thought process and believe on right track. PS5 is out selling Xbox. Lot of that I attribute Xbox One bad press carrying over into this gen.

The obvious question/point to know is, does the PS5 have lower tier entry point as the Series consoles? The PS5 had any issues for a game play with their consoles this gen?

As a consumer, if I buy a next gen console and there are issues getting a game to play properly, or at all due to hardware issues, I'd ask myself why did I not just buy a PC instead if have concern myself over hardware specs.

And full disclosure, I absolutely, totally, despise PC gaming with a passion.

Re: Surprise! Ninja Gaiden 2 Black Launches Today On Xbox Game Pass

GuyinPA75

@Kaloudz @ValentineMeikin Thank you guys for sharing that. If I saw Hero Mode on my own, would thought it be, a sauna, in hell, in center of the sun, type of sweaty difficulty mode.

At least for me, games like ninja gaiden are meant to let the player be super overpowered tank going thru the story slaughtering every thing in your way.

I absolutely despise games where I have wait for the boss to fart, then jump three times with light attack, then wait for boss to burp, roll 5 times with medium, light, heavy attack. Repeat that same sequence for an hour, for each of the boss's 27 forms. But if accidentally, hit medium, heavy, light attack combo, the boss one hits you a sneeze.

Not. Enjoyable. At. All. Ever.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade 2025's Xbox Developer Direct?

GuyinPA75

I'm really wondering if that mercenary game was canceled? Not heard anything about it for years now. Think called Iron Bolt or something? Been so long even forget the name.

Announced at E3 years ago. Think set in 1940s? Loot gold? Heck can't even remember. Just another example of why The 6 Month Rule is absolutely the ONLY way to go.

Re: EA Says Two Of Its Major AAA Titles 'Underperformed' In 2024

GuyinPA75

Wonder if EA is factoring in that, to my knowledge, all their games eventually go to EA online service. So why buy the game?

Again, I'll stress, these online subscription services hurt the developers bottom line. It is going to lead in downfall of gaming, or at very least, noticeable decline in overall quality of games.

Re: Report: Majority Of Devs Expecting To Release New Games In 2025, Driving Industry Growth

GuyinPA75

@somnambulance That's the very reason I stopped watching developer shows and Xbox showcases. Absolutely am tired of seeing a game trailer that grabs my complete interest only have end with, coming 2073.

Ummm, no thanks.

That far out sooooo much can happen. Game gets canceled, delayed until 2278, set into infinite delay world. And yes, we have seen ALL the above often now.

Developers REALLY need to start following the 6 Month Rule. Doing that just better for everyone involved.

Re: Xbox Reminds Us Engagement Is At 'All-Time High' Going Into 2025

GuyinPA75

Here is the thing I feel Microsoft not understand (other than how to NOT successfully market their products or have a well thought out PLAN for their products) is why would a third party developer even want develop for Microsoft since their sales going stink on Xbox.

No, I'm wrong. That's crazy talk! Right?!?

Well, not so fast. I'll explain.

Game pass (you know that "best deal in gaming" rubbish propaganda that's thrown around so much) is hindering Xbox. Games lose, what did the report say, 80% of their sales? That's huge.

But so what! Game doesn't have to be on game pass, so take that to your theory! Again...not so fast. Not read a statistic, but I'd bet a lot of people are, meh, I'll wait for it to hit game pass since I'm being forced into paying $23+ a month for it as it is. So developers losing sales even on that front.

And, of course, the big elephant in the room is, why should a person even buy a game on Xbox at this point since Microsoft is giving every hint, sign, message, that next gen very well may be their exit and who knows what's going to happen. Our libraries be around? Will online servers be cut immediately? Will my games even play then? But, hey, that's the wondrous beauty of an all digital world, right? It's the greatest thing ever to just buy a license to a product...instead of owning it.

But that's conversation for another time.

Re: Talking Point: What Is Xbox Going To Do With Halo In 2025?

GuyinPA75

Getting rid of lot dead weight within 343i (Halo Studios or whatever calling it this week) be great first step. Using those freed up salaries into next halo game and future halo titles be second great step.

It is obvious 343i needs an extremely good trim, starting from top down.
