Battlefield 6 sold 6 million+ copies (at say $60 average is $360,000,000) and EA laid off staff. If unable to effectively and efficiently handle $360,000,000 management are ones needing laid off.

Plus stockholders place ludicrous demands for return on investment. What's wrong just turning a profit? Does it have to be upteenmillion dollars in profits to be justified?

At first, I really thought, she's going do ok for Xbox.

Now everything, evvvvvverything, she says screams of forced acceptance through passive deeds (I hear you, I read gamers want this, etc) to point of starting feel forced and no where close to genuine.

Game Pass already done this. And that's even beyond the point of it's unsustainable business model.

Game pass is and was terrible idea. Mainly due to branding identity. I know, Microsoft having brand or marketing issues. Who would thought that.

If called Indie Pass or something like that, and not shoved down Xbox gamers throats, it be in better place today.

@Tdx Honestly it's hard to explain that vast majority offered in game pass are aftermarket game boy color level of quality games.

For every expedition 33 there are hundreds of side scrolling, jumping over lava pits, that I quit playing back late 80s, early 90s.

I have $4000 TV, Xbox Series X, and full surround sound setup. Absolutely want use it to full potential. I can go gamestop any time and buy game boy color or an NES.

That's game pass biggest challenge, after the high pricing.

@fatpunkslim If she has the brains and understanding to make ANY and EVERY game pass subscription have very nice discount if purchase 12 months in advance, I'll really start take her more serious in the role.

That move, if happens, will tell me that she cares about Xbox and what Xbox customers want.

It's really simple to make large portion of Xbox fans happy.

Give us online play, first party titles (been out a year at least, already), none that stupid laggy, 280i frame rate, streaming garbage, ZERO ads, for $15 month, or $100-$120 a year bundle deal.

Think that hits all the bases, and makes majority happy.

Only way it has chance to survive is $45-$50 minimum monthly subscription. Majority will (and rightfully so) turn their noses up at that ridiculous expense.

Be even easier if have just one console. None the multiple underpowered console rubbish like Series S. Just one console and be done.

If want quality and best experience, physical media is the ONLY way to go. Especially with how entertainment is being censored, edited, and/or deleted. The original vision of entertainment is being destroyed and ruined by small percentage of people that really not represent the majority on a good day.

The "selling more" is incredibly weak argument. Taco Bell sells millions every day. It's the epitome of low quality and over priced (just like Series S). Willing bet good money majority of Series S sales were due to game pass people. Which is fine if enjoying lower tier games is your thing. I lost my desire for playing game boy color games over 25-30 years ago. And do not even try the Expedition 33 argument. For every one of them, there are over hundred game boy color level games on game pass. Plus, game pass gets closer to verge of collapse every day due to its unsustainable business model.

Xbox would been absolutely fine this gen without it. Honestly been better off. Lowest common denominator developers would had work with been Series X or PS5. Which resulted in better experience for everyone involved. Mainly game journalism could covered more genres instead of the "Series S is weak sauce or not running game X for this X reasons this week" articles.

So, again, please spare me the Series S sold more rubbish arguments.

But it's just one of those scenarios of, looks great on paper, terrible idea when put in practice. Microsoft NEEDS to learn and understand from this and not make same mistake next gen.

@Scrubchub There is no sarcasm. The Series S is mistake, holds Series X (possibly this whole gen) back, has history of technological issues due to Microsoft trying to justify its existence by forcing parity.

If Microsoft is serious about the next console, it will have only one console. None of this multiple console rubbish.

The only thing "wasting time" is the presence of Series S.

Sunset Overdrive is one biggest underrated games of Xbox, along with Shadowrun (first person shooter). Of course any hope of Sunset sequel on Xbox most likely never going happen now. And Shadowrun sequel or remaster I'd go absolutely ape $%# for. Would pre-order the very second available.

Now imagine if all the resources and time from Series S could been spent on Series X instead.

They're absolutely Xbox haters out there. Just like they're Microsoft haters in tech community. Windows phone, Dial, Band, Zune, Surface just to name few that were hated but were amazing.

I'd bought and probably enjoyed all souls and elden ring games. But no easy mode? Forget it.

If I want spend hours of unnecessary frustration, with very little progress for hours on end, I'd just go to work. I play video games to relax and escape all that.

Keep hoping a wireless Xbox style Playstation controller would release at reasonable price. Would buy that and Playstation for sure. There are some games on Playstation love to play.

Not sure how much into the recent history of Microsoft with nadella you are? But I've been following Microsoft for decades and what is gong on under nadella's "leadership" is an incredible joke. Nadella is putting all Microsoft's eggs into waaaaaaaaay too few baskets. If any those moves tank, Microsoft in world of hurt fast. And the moves that nadella would make (hopefully he's long gone before then) would be even more disastrous. Xbox would be gone in blink of eye.

Still believe nadella chased off panos panay which was massive mistake. Just wait until panos products start releasing from his move to Amazon. Really look for Amazon to be more legit in hardware space. Once remove alexa, Amazon is pretty empty in hardware world. But that's just in my opinion.

And major, feels and plays like PC first game, that feels like a force console port.
