@Kaloudz No Mercy for me is still the best wrestling game ever made.
Tried some of the WWE games years ago. But really could not stand the pin/submission mechanics. Very much not intuitive at all. And terrible idea making it some kind mini game.
Big issue is so very, very, few live service games hit. And even if they do, the market is so incredibly narrow that it hurts itself with self inflicted wounds, like, Seasons.
Good example, from my experience, is Fallout 76. Do I like it? Yes. Did I play it often? Yes. Did I buy the Power Armor Edition? Yes, I was one those fools. Did I play a lot of the seasons? Begrudgingly, yes, with utmost distain, that eventually had me wash my hands of the game entirely.
What Fallout 76 did, like many live service games, make it so THE ONLY GAME YOU HAVE TIME TO PLAY. That turned me off since it was THE ONLY GAME I could play and it demanded two+ hours a day, every day, and work my heavy work schedule it created a point that I missed completing a season, and have never returned since annoyed missed out on things.
If they made it where could complete a season in couple days to week, I would still enjoy the game AND be playing the game. They chased me away by holding me prisoner to that game, only able play that game, if I wanted to complete the Season and not miss anything. They absolutely chased off a person that loves Fallout world so much, they bought the Power Armor Edition. Yes, it's worth mentioning that momentary lapse of reason, again.
Elder Scrolls Online is doing this same mistake in form of Golden Pursuits. At least as of now, I'm able to complete it in about week or longer. But the window of the event usually 10 days, so you still MUST play everyday. If they make it more demanding I'm out. Again, this is a person that loves Elder Scrolls Online so much I have purchased EVERY physical collections edition expansion until they stopped releasing those. And just like Fallout, they will lose a long time player and frequent consumer.
Live service games need to really decrease the forced and needed level of engagement. It burns out, frustrates, turns off, players.
Of course someone on here will obviously not read the entire comment and just say, you don't have play the game, no one is forcing you. Well, no one is forcing or asking that a season be so demanding so it's the only game you'll be able to play. I like to play different games during the week. Not same thing every day.
Honestly, not even think about the UI when interface with Xbox. So, at least, for me, that just speaks how fine the UI is as it is. Not even think about or notice it.
@Weebleman Hey Lahey's Ghost. You're probably right. Everyone already spent their money during the s&@$show known as the s&@$storm of the century. If Randy just take his shirt off and go after Playstation, Xbox have chance getting back on top. Especially if Julian in on it! Lol
I still believe the next Xbox will be very much like the Switch. Seems Microsoft slowly prepping us for that.
@donv2135 I love how you just took my comment without any depth of thought on your end.
I stated Microsoft as a whole over last 10 years. Not just Xbox. Nadella has canceled amazing and top notch products that could propelled into much better position for the future.
That's not even taking into consideration how nadella has done nothing but find ways to make everything he can into an unnecessary, overpriced, subscription service.
I will continue to say, preach, nonstop, that Microsoft be much, much, much, better off if nadella would leave Microsoft or if the Board found way to remove him.
Nadella has absolutely been terrible for long term health of Microsoft for about last 10 years.
@FraserG Thank you very much for sharing that comment on Elden Ring. I truly believe it supports my feeling about that game.
All the souls-like games need to have a story (easy) mode. No questions asked. Full stop. It would absolutely, increase sales of those type games significantly as well. I stand by that belief.
I've said numerous times on this site, there is no joy for me, to try and die for 6 hours straight, only to advance 5 mins in the story. If I want to deal with something that frustrating and that annoying - I'd just go to work.
Fact you're sharing no one engaged with Elden Ring stories on the site really enforces my thoughts above. I play video games to escape life. Not basically put on black, leather mask, with zipper for mouth, and take it, every moment play a game.
@Kaloudz I would be more akin to agree with your thoughts if Playstation and Nintendo put heck lot more games on Xbox. I'd love to play spider-man, horizon Dawn, god of war, etc.
But I'm never gong to buy a Playstation due to how much I detest the PS controller. If a company would finally make a reasonably priced, wireless, Xbox style controller, I'd buy it and Playstation in a heartbeat.
@DonkeyFantasy If I was betting, truly believe the next Xbox console will model the Nintendo Switch.
Microsoft has exceptional track record of making incredible products, then fail support them, or come late to the party when the fad of something is over.
@Cikajovazmaj People complain if a game is not 60 FPS. Something about their eyes melt and skull explodes at anything less than 60 FPS. Yet same people had ZERO issues playing Mario cart at like 20 FPS for 8 hours a day, every day, all thru middle school
Nothing will surprise me in what people complain about anymore. Sad time we live in.
I feel they changed too much of how ticket system worked, compared to Battlefield 3 and 4. I'm strictly ONLY a Conquest mode person. So that really effects my experience for sure.
Plus weaponry and armor from WWI time period not my thing. Feels too slow and lulls in action compared to modern day. But if someone loves WWI and able look past ticket system, I can definitely see their appeal for it.
But another big factor for me was how the squad classes really didn't synergize enough for benefit of squad for me, either. Battlefield 3 and 4 felt much better.
Granted, the above are all my takes. Considering how Battlefield 1 and 5 and 2042, went over with people, doubt I'm in minority on those.
@Cakefish @Kaloudz This is another excellent example of why subscription services (looking at you game pass) is, totally, absolutely, incredibly, undeniably, bad for gaming industry.
We all know how EA works. They only care about sales, no one can truly provide argument that is not accurate.
So who's to say people (with game prices being so excessive, along with other subscriptions we pay for - - hey, looking at you, again, game pass), majority are not going spend that money on game when can just wait a while instead. Not like backlog isn't reality for many, many, gamers today.
So what happens now? EA closes or condenses studios. People lose their jobs.
Next time any person what's to defend game pass - - think about that. People are and will lose jobs. Period.
Game pass is pretty much (not exact, so don't anyone out in comments world pull that on me) video game equivalent to Napster at this point.
There needs to be a Lars in development world that starts throw a fit and bring all the above to light.
Battlefield 3 and 4 were the height and pinnacle of multiplayer awesomeness for this franchise. There's a reason Battlefield 4 is still played by many on Xbox, even to this day.
The new game needs to bring back to the roots of Battlefield 3 and 4 to restore the glory days. Fully destructable environments, classes that complement the squad, events that transform the action and flow of a map so every game feels little different and more variety.
I can go on forever. But any fan of 3 or 4 will know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

Re: Battlefield 6 Extended Footage Appears Online Ahead Of Xbox Series X|S Release
Not sure about Battlefield 6, yet. But without doubt, Battlefield 3 and 4 are absolutely the best multiplayer Battlefield games made to date.

Re: RoboCop: Rogue City Is Now Its 'Lowest Price Ever' On The Xbox Store
@Stephan123 Think I was having same issue and bumped difficulty down.
Did the same with Redfall. Really felt the normal difficulty is for co op mode. I was getting destroyed on normal.
Re: RoboCop: Rogue City Is Now Its 'Lowest Price Ever' On The Xbox Store
This game absolutely felt like a new robocop movie. Looking forward to a sequel.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Be Disappointed If A 'Gears Collection' Didn't Include Multiplayer?
I enjoy all the Gears campaigns. But any Gears multiplayer I did not enjoy at all.
Re: CoD Leaker Doubles Down On Belief That Xbox's Next Console Will Arrive In 2026
Until proven wrong, I am still very much going continue say the next Xbox console will be very much like the Nintendo Switch.
Re: Roundup: The Final Previews Are In For Xbox Game Pass RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
@Ilyn @VivaUtd Also it is worth mentioning the actual budget and cost of making the game.
Budget and development cost for, say, Brotato versus GTA6 are astronomically different.
If being on subscription service was so wonderful and profitable, then EVERY game would be on game pass day one. But they aren't.
And that should tell anyone what they need to know.
Re: Xbox Series X|S Sales Down Almost 50% As Fans Question Stock Levels In Certain Regions
Fake news!
Everything is an Xbox now. Sales are actually up.
Re: Talking Point: Which Xbox Games Would You Love To See Relisted This Year?
Please just make a sequel or remake the Shadowrun shooter.
Best. Shooter. Ever.
Re: BioWare Co-Founder Recalls 'Moronic' Xbox Advice That Potentially Ruined A Franchise
@8thDoctor Titanfall 2 another good example. Let's release it same time as Battlefield game. Really smart.
Re: BioWare Co-Founder Recalls 'Moronic' Xbox Advice That Potentially Ruined A Franchise
Jade Empire was an amazing game. Hopefully Xbox will just green light a sequel. I'm up for it.

Re: Xbox Has Officially Delayed Fable Into 2026
Again......it's ANOTHER example of publisher NOT FOLLOWING the 6 Month Rule.
I can not stress this enough. If every publisher followed that rule. It be such a better experience for EVERY ONE involved.
Re: Dave Bautista Wants Fans To 'Start A Petition' For Gears Of War On Netflix
@Tasuki Yea thought that was weird he lost lot his mass. Supposedly his reasoning to play more dramatic roles to extend his acting career.
Which I can understand. Most his acting career is Drax or James Bond villain henchman roles. Not many options for him.
Re: Dave Bautista Wants Fans To 'Start A Petition' For Gears Of War On Netflix
@BacklogBrad Would you prefer Disney? It would be pile of woke.
76 year old Grace Jones probably play Marcus.
Re: Dave Bautista Wants Fans To 'Start A Petition' For Gears Of War On Netflix
I don't hate on Bautista. But....
This whole thing (like article says in round about way) is just Bautista being incredibly self serving. That's it.
He's getting older. And he wants to play Marcus, really, really, really, bad. Time is ticking. He knows it. So he's pushing like a mad man now.
Re: Microsoft Rewards Appears To Be Increasing Its Prices For Xbox Game Pass
Lmao!
Said for years now, game pass is not sustainable business model. Not at all. Look for it to be $50 a month in year or so.
Guess it really is the "Netflix of gaming" raising prices every couple months. Just like Netflix lol
Re: Talking Point: Are You Happy With The Current Xbox UI As It Stands In 2025?
I'm perfectly fine with Xbox UI as is.
Honestly, not even think about the UI when interface with Xbox. So, at least, for me, that just speaks how fine the UI is as it is. Not even think about or notice it.
Re: Private Division's Lord Of The Rings Game Has Been Delayed On Xbox
Yet, another example, if Six Month Rule was followed. This would not even be an issue.

@IOI Which is shame on many levels.
All the Surface products are amazing!

Wait? I'm confused?!?
How can the console sales decline? I thought EVERYTHING was an Xbox now?

Been with Xbox since Day One 2001. No regrets.
Re: 'Tides Of Annihilation' Accidentally Goes Live On Xbox Without A Release Date

But no where annoying as, "Wishlist it now!"
What's the point of it? It's not a pre-order. It's not developer getting any money from us.
So annoying.
Re: Xbox Reporter Says Series X|S Successor Has Been 'Fully Approved' By Microsoft

Ok with every single title. None that affect me at all.

Series S having issues with yet another game? Say it isn't so.
Really no surprise. Series S still the console that should not only never been made, but never released.
Re: Two Xbox Game Pass Titles Have Received Significant Delays This Week
Yet, another example of why all developers should and NEED to use the 6 Month Rule.
It is absolutely the overall better experience for EVERY person involved.
Re: Poll: What Kind Of Review Scores Are You Predicting For Avowed?
I predict 71-75 solely on all the Xbox haters out there.
Re: Halo TV Series Shows Up On Netflix, Fans Divided Over Potential Third Season
I really enjoyed the show for what it was. A third season would definitely be a watch for me.
Re: Lots Of Games Are Discounted By 90% On Xbox This Weekend (February 7-10)
@Banjo- That infamous game wasn't that bad. Played it back in day on release. Felt dated, sure. But if like Duke, I'd recommend.

@Nightcrawler71 Hobbit trilogy surprised me. For me it was like two movie build up to finish up going all out for basically 3 hour action movie.
Did not expect that. Really enjoyed.
Re: Microsoft Rewards Is Practically Giving Away Six Big Movies Right Now
Already own all six extended versions on 4k discs.
As in physical media. The best way to watch 4k movies with superior sound quality. As in the absolute best way to experience movies.

Makes me think EA really want have their own, Destiny, to milk gamers nonstop with microtransactions and DLCs.
For every one Destiny, there are hundreds others that fail in first month. Good luck with that, EA.
Re: Classic Battlefield Content Will Be Returning To BF6 On Xbox Series X|S
