We saw loads of footage for the awesome-looking "The Outer Worlds 2" at the Xbox Games Showcase yesterday, and with the release date now out in the wild, it's also become available for pre-order over the past few hours.
And, it turns out this is the first $80 Xbox game since Microsoft announced its intent to raise the price of certain high-level releases in the future. DOOM: The Dark Ages ended up being £69.99 / $69.99 when it launched but The Outer Worlds 2 is raising its price to £69.99 / $79.99 - and that's just for the standard edition of the game.

Of course, the big benefit for us Xbox owners (compared to PS5 owners) is that we can access The Outer Worlds 2 as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass at launch, saving the need to pay a whopping $80 at release.
It'll be interesting to see whether the extra $10 makes a dent on sales in the future, but clearly Microsoft feels it's a risk worth taking. Would you be willing to spend that much for The Outer Worlds 2 on day one? Tell us down below.
