@OldGamer999 I agree with almost everything you said except about Astro. That game looks to be shaping up to be as good as any Mario game from Nintendo. I think it could be a dark horse for GoTY.

I’m curious to see how the next FY goes. Right now they’re getting an artificial bump from ABK, which without is a bleak picture. 😕

@awp69 I think this is extremely subjective. There is one game you listed that I will try. Most of them I don’t even know what they are.

I’m still able to get around 12K a month, which allows me to keep GamePass running. I used to get enough were I could get a couple months of Ubisoft+ a year for free but no longer. So while still worth doing for me, significantly worse.

FH5 is easily the best game Xbox has put out this gen. I had a good time with Halo with buddies but that game was given up on by 343 and is dead. 😕

@Kooky_Geezer I’ve not had stick drift issues but I’ve had my A button not work on 1 and seems to be going on another.

Interesting comment section. I disagree with probably almost everything the director believes including diversity to have diversity. However, I think the game looks quite fun to me so I will buy it.

If you're just virtue signaling by coming here and saying it's bad (it might be, time will tell) because of the beliefs of the devs then I don't know what to say. I imagine folks consume media/food/etc from companies they disagree with completely all the time. Either you boycott pretty much everything and take a hardline stance or you understand that some products can still be good despite the folks who made it.

@NEStalgia I would say it didn’t work because they were incredibly light on content from Dec 2021 til about now. When the games start flowing at a steady pace, I think we get a better picture of if it’s good.

@NEStalgia For me it comes down to the cost.

Right now I get GPU for free through MS rewards (if that changes this argument is null and void).

So if I buy a console at $500 and then buy no Xbox first party games because they are "free" to me with GP I will save money over buying them 1-2 years down the road on PS5/6. All it would take is for me to play 8 Xbox first party games on GP over the console generation (7 years?) and I come out ahead. That is ignoring any other games I play on GP that are not first party. Examples of these this year would be MLB The Show, Eiyuden Chronicles (my next game).

So for me, it is still worth having the Xbox.

One of the best showcases I can remember. Easy 9/10.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good South of Midnight looked. It and Indiana Jones fill holes that Xbox had in it's game genre variety.

Flintlock, Avowed, Indiana Jones, Flight Simulator, CoD and Stalker 2 all on GamePass for the rest of the year. Good stuff.

C+. There are 6-7 games I want to play from it so I’m happy. The show was a little long so that drags it down a bit for me.

I’m getting around 11-13K a month which is what I need for GamePass. Any less and I’d probably quit.

This and PSSR should make it so games always have a 4K upscaled and 60fps mode. Exciting!

@Banjo- Wait you’re saying the “Xbox Tax” was a thing 11 years ago? This is a joke right?

How is this a good game if the gameplay is not good, combat is “a drag” and puzzles are “basic and repetitive”.

I have never picked graphics over performance. Always 60fps when it’s there.

They’re certainly well on the way to destroying it. However, I “think” I can still get enough to earn GamePass each month. It will be close, that’s probably the breaking point for me if that goes goodbye.

Probably not up for GoTY. Should be good though.

I see today they nerfed the play a game weekly from 500 to 250 and they completely removed the Jewel daily for 60 points. I guess that’s what they think “listening to us” is. Clowns

@BIG3 consider yourself lucky! Everyone I know that plays had had it. A truly game ruining experience.

Husky Raid is quite good. Some day the game runs well and others I can’t play without packet loss or jitter. So very confusing.

@Kaloudz I guess I should have made it clear for you. Sony putting games on PC is not the same as MS putting games on PS5. You have willfully ignored this in probably 30+ comments on here which is staggering.

PC is not a console competition for Sony. Honestly though, Xbox isn’t either.

@InterceptorAlpha I can make myself get past their terrible matchmaking but this literally makes it unplayable. Until they can fix this, the game is dead for me.

I cannot even play Halo anymore. The unstable packet loss/desync is unbearable. The game is zero fun when people are teleporting around on your screen. I don’t understand how three years in, they cannot get this game working.

@Kaloudz I’d argue it’s more they’ve resigned themselves to whatever the fate of Xbox is as opposed to calmed down.

Indiana Jones, Fable, Halo, Elder Scrolls and Forza Horizon were my choices, though I cannot recall the order.

@themightyant I have to imagine the execs do not enjoy losing money on hardware so that is why I think they could exit. Maybe they find a way to make the next console profitable.

@themightyant All fair points, I just get the feel that they’re heading the publisher direction, but obviously could be wrong.

I can definitely see GP on Switch, PS is harder as they won’t even play nice with Ubisoft+.

@Banjo- Perhaps I misunderstood you? You made it sound like Sony was willingly porting games to Xbox, which they are absolutely not. If all you meant was they have a couple games on Xbox because they have to due outside circumstances and it’s not the same as Xbox rumored plan, I agree.

@anoyonmus I assume the Bungie getting to do what they want and stay multiplatform applies to that game, but I had indeed forgotten about it.

@themightyant The would absolutely lose subs unless they get GamePass on PS/Switch like I mentioned. Stopping consoles isn’t a viable plan for them until that happens.

Say 20M GP subs are on console currently, if they can get onto the 139M Switch and 57M PS5, they would easily get more than 20M out of roughly 200M and make a crapload of money.

Regarding the MTX, I’m not sure what that looks like in dollar figures, if it’s more than they’d make with selling games on every system as a publisher they won’t go the publisher route. Their only concern is making more money. For now, I think going full publisher if they can get GP on all platforms would be the most lucrative.

@Banjo- What Sony games are we talking about? The Show was mandated by MLB (Sony didn’t want to) and Destiny was on there before they were bought. Am I missing some?

@themightyant I guess it depends who is making the calls in there. The console loses them money while subs and software are what makes them money.

If they’re able to get GamePass and their games on PS5 and Switch, then those execs will gladly stop making consoles and take the extra money IMO.

@themightyant I read that and also thought it was pretty interesting. I fully expect MS to become a publisher at some point and end hardware, just don’t know when that is.

@Weebleman I follow. It did require some effort to get enough to pay for GamePass but it was certainly doable. I am more likely to let mine expire and just pay for a month (when my points bank runs out) when a big game comes out now.

@Weebleman I think you mean how did I expect the GamePass from MS rewards to be sustainable? I didn’t, I’m just sad it’s over. It was keeping me in the MS ecosystem.

@Kaloudz That’s the part that confuses me. They constantly say they lose money on consoles, now this talk of going multiplatform but they’re developing the next gen. I can’t make it add up.

@themightyant I’m in the same boat as him. I wouldn’t buy another Xbox. I was getting free gamepass because of the rewards program which they’ve now destroyed essentially. So buying an Xbox and paying for gamepass would end up more expensive than buying a handful of exclusives. Would I miss a couple exclusives I might like to play, probably? But from a cost perspective it’s a no brainer for me.

@Kaloudz I still disagree. It’s a lathe difference to me between games going to PC or your competitors. If Sony announced they were putting games on Xbox, this would not be the same conversation we are having.

Already rumors of Starfield and Indiana Jones going to PS5. MS wants to make money, they lose money on consoles and make money on software. It’s not business suicide to become a pseudo third party publisher for games. They’d likely make more money than they do now.

@Kaloudz Surely you don’t believe that. It’s not close to being the same. The PC space is not their direct competitor, Sony is.
