I’m still able to maintain GamePass for free through MS rewards (barely). It has saved me literal thousands since 2020. It is easily the best value in gaming and makes PS+ look like a joke. Octopath Traveler, Avowed and now South of Midnight to start 2025 for me.

That would effectively end the rewards program for me. Now the question is, is an Xbox plus buying GamePass still worth it compared to buying the games I want on PS.

@fatpunkslim Times are changing for Xbox. I think Phil has made that very clear.

@Fiendish-Beaver This is correct. Those games that have come to PS so far were not developed for it initially and the strategy for Xbox was not what it is now back then.

@fatpunkslim I would be mind blown if it takes them 4 years to put FH6 on PS5. We are real close to them just launching all games on as many platforms as possible day one IMO.

This would apply for third party but doesn’t help MS at all on its first party games.

From the very beginning the devs said they needed to optimize the game for Xbox. Unsurprisingly their story is the same as it was then….

@SpacemanJupiter Buying a second game when you didn’t play more than 10% of the first one is certainly a choice. 😂

This looks so good. I’ve been itching for Xbox to have something like this for so long.

I’m about halfway through the first Spyro game and it’s been a lot of fun.

Tried Stalker 2 and it’s just not for me, even aside from the technical/audio issues I encountered.

While playing Halo I’ve had people say Fat Al Bubbles too. So apparently it’s a tricky one.

@Fiendish-Beaver 31.5 hours to beat UC4 is pretty absurd. I believe I was around 16-18 hours and it’s by far the longest in the series.

@PurvisP I couldn’t even hear the first cutscene because the audio was going nuts with static and buzzing. Then I get going and when you aim the gun just says everywhere. To me it was not even playable. I know not everyone will have the same bugs but it’s not great.

I don’t know if anyone else has seen this but the audio is terrible. I get constant static/buzzing noises. It’s unplayable.

Concord was a disaster. Astro was excellent. Which one am I missing?

@BacklogBrad I have played three on your list and definitely wouldn’t put them above FF7 or Astro. I think I’d put Stellar Blade above all of those as well, maybe even Visions of Mana too. Interesting choices!

@carlos82 I am in the states with 400MBps and Xcloud is also useless for me. Latency is terrible and honestly 1080p on my 65” LG looks real bad.

@MjJmediablogger Just chiming in because I am playing it right now. The frame rate stutter is horrific outside the city right now, 100% not fixed.

It’s concerning to see the “need more gamepass” comments. Fuels that narrative of xbox players not buying games. Unless I missed something where they promised the games shown would be on gamepass?

@NEStalgia Can we think of any other games that didn’t release right away on Xbox aside from BG3 that Sony hasn’t claimed exclusivity on? The studio was very clear that it was struggling to get things going on Xbox, which I have to assume is related to the S.

@NEStalgia Personally I think it’s a better look for Sony or Game Science to just say yes or no. As you mentioned, it makes them look suspicious by staying silent.

I did see that Paul Tassi (Forbes) now said this is a “very complicated” situation and he believes his source “heard what they heard”. That to me is not super compelling but who knows.

Just to clarify, they said “up to 60fps” for the performance mode, right? It’s not a locked 60@1080, likely moves around is what I got from their comment.

Is anyone familiar with an Xbox controller that doesn’t have offset thumbsticks and preferably flatter ABXY buttons?

Mainly the flatter face buttons, the offset thumb sticks isn’t that big of a deal.

For those that have/are playing it, is there another game you could compare it to?

@Elbow I have to say. If the goal was to draw people in, the slowness which with the game plays in the video is a major turnoff for me.

Is the person playing intentionally walking or is the game just that slow?

It’s pretty disappointing that Xbox continues to just put out 30fps games at this point. As someone mentioned above, the last 4 have been 30fps. That shouldn’t be a thing at this point.

While HB2 wasn’t terrible with 30fps it certainly felt clunkier and would have been better at 60fps. HB2 is the ONLY one IMO that could even be argued would be OK at 30fps.
