Re: Death Stranding Officially Joins Xbox Game Pass For PC Next Week

Bobobiwan

It is a walking simulator. It really is. You even have to balance your body with the trigger buttons not to fall, etc.
Gameplay-wise, it's really a strange experience.
Story-wise, it's very... complicated. Nebulous.
But also ? Fascinating, man. Really, really fascinating.

I'm a Kojima fanboy, so what do I know. But after having finished it, I was like... "Ok... So now... what am I thinking of it ? I'm not even sure to know myself. Have I liked it ? Loved it ? Or on the contrary... hated it ? Man, it's so strange..."

But you what ? Days later, MONTHS later... you still think about it. The all experience sticks with you. The landscapes, the story, the universe, those fu..ing deliveries... It all remains in your brain. Somehow, somewhere.

And I think it's the mark of the truly great pieces of art.

My advice : keep an open mind and try it. And try to finish it, even if it's to say, in the end, that you hated it.

Man, what an experience.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 18-19)

Bobobiwan

@Raffles I already had it on PS4, but I could not resist the sale, just for being able to play it on Xbox.

And I don't know why, but I'm fairly optimistic about 6 and its way to teach newbies all of these mechanics shenanigans.

I think it will be the perfect entry for new gamers. After all, it's the return of the franchise for a lot of people.

I never touched 5, for exemple. And I don't really know why, cause I do have a PS4. But it was not the same, to know the game was exclusive to one platform only.

But, man, for 6 ? Crossplay and all ? Oh, it's gonna be good !

Re: Forza Motorsport's Ray Tracing Will Be 'On' During Gameplay, Not Just Replays & Photo Mode

Bobobiwan

I don't know, guys. Those people are real magicians : when all games were about the choice 4K OR 60 fps, they gave us Forza 7 for One X, which was true 4K AND 60 fps. No choice, no option of anything. Just the full package.

So maybe they found a way. At 60 fps, I mean. Surely not at 120.
But RT / 4K / 60 fps can be real with this game. If anyone can do it, it's those guys at Turn 10 !

Re: Gallery: Another Look At Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, Coming To Xbox This Winter

Bobobiwan

This game is my beloved treasure, the jewel of my collection.

The UMD is still standing proudly on my shelf, and the game is still on the main screen of my PSVITA system (I hacked the little beast just to be able to play this masterpiece on it, since it was never released to the PS store).

It's a masterpiece. Yeah, I know I just said it, but it truly is. The gameplay is... I don't know... weird ? Yeah, it's a little weird.

But the story, man. Those characters. For a Final Fantasy VII fan like me, the game was pure revelation. Gospel and all. It's so moving. And you just want to replay FFVII, after that. You want the story to follow its own flow.

Yeah, day one. DAY ONE !! (and we need to show Square that we love this licence on Xbox, too !)

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 18-19)

Bobobiwan

TMNT off course, but I'm also in a Street Fighter vibe, since the announcement of VI, so I bought SFIV : Arcade (in sale for a few bucks, right now) and its extension ULTRA for a few more pennys.

That game is still awesome.

Oh, and I'm still on my run of playing all of the Lego Star Wars games, with the Obi-Wan Tv show airing. Currently at Lego Star Wars III - Clone Wars and it's very different from the Complete Saga.

Re: New Final Fantasy 7 Game Revealed For Xbox, But It's Not 'Remake'

Bobobiwan

@Banjo- It's intersting what you're saying here.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I cannot see any reason for this delay AND this silence apart a Gamepass adition, something like in six months or so.

The game just cannot be on gamepass right now, cause it would hurt the steam release. But in six months ? Yeah, definitly.

Re: 343: Halo Infinite's First Drop Pod Is Arriving Next Week

Bobobiwan

@d0x3601 Wow, very precise and informative comments ! Thanks, pal !
As for the campaign, I'm glad they finally fixed the lag in the cutscenes. It may seems to be a detail for some, but for me, it was everything.
I'm still hoping for big campaign extensions, in the near future, with other biomes. And I'll be there to play them, for sure.

Re: Surprise! Sonic '06 Has Been Relisted On The Xbox 360 Marketplace

Bobobiwan

Ah ! I litterally just bought a used copy of that game, cause I wanted to replay it with limited loading times by installing it (I've also got it on PS3, and it's a nightmare for the disc drive).
Waited three weeks for my copy to drop in my mailbox.
And then, when I finally was able to install it, I noticed "What ? You can actually buy it on Games on Demand ? Oh, man !"

Re: 343 Industries Wasn't 'Proud Of' Halo Infinite Before Delay

Bobobiwan

@Would_you_kindly Clearly, Infinite's story felt like a retcon.

Ok, 5's ending got fans angry so here we go for something else... Like a soft reboot, or what...

I'm sorry, but I was ready for some BIG Cortana's revelation, starting Infinite. I was ready for the cliffhanger of my life.

That did not happen.

Re: 343 Industries Wasn't 'Proud Of' Halo Infinite Before Delay

Bobobiwan

Overall, the one thing that disapointed me the most was the story.

The gameplay and the open world was really good, but the story...

I mean, I'm among the three people on earth who really liked Halo 4 AND 5. Yes, 5, too. Especially the ending, I was so hooked at this cliffhanger.

And here goes the story of Infinite... With these weird dialogues (the bad guy's speeches !) and this weird narrative...

Yeah, the game was great to play, but I won't remember this experience in the years to come.

The little Tunic, on the contrary, is a masterpiece like I did not seen any for so long. Please, try this game, everyone. Try it, and don't google anything. No cheats, nothing. Just... play and figure it out. It's worth it.

Re: Marvel's Avengers Has Delayed Its Next Update

Bobobiwan

@themightyant I know what you mean, pal.
Personnaly, I played with Iron Man and really liked his gameplay. I never touched to others characters, except when I had to for story reasons.

Anyway, I plan to dig real soon in Gardians of Galaxy : that one seems to have charmed a lot of players, so I'm very excited to give it a try !

Re: Marvel's Avengers Has Delayed Its Next Update

Bobobiwan

I'm among the few who really liked this game.
I took it for a solo game, and enjoyed my time with it. Never bothered to play beyond in this multiplayer nonsense.

But the solo part is good : story is good, gameplay is cool and graphics are nice and shiny (on Series X). The only problem with this game was the game as a service approach.

But Square corrected it with Gardians, so...

Re: Roundup: Here's What's Coming To Xbox In March 2022

Bobobiwan

@fbnaulin Yeah, I'm not sure it was clearly labeled as a gamepass title even once, but it was surely intended to be received by the players as one.

Like : I'm remembering a conference where it was presented, and the all mantra of the conf' was, indeed, gamepass.

I guess we'll see it soon !

Re: Roundup: Here's What's Coming To Xbox In March 2022

Bobobiwan

If I'm correct, Tunic was advertised many times as an Xbox Gamepass title. It should definitly comes to the service.

Really curious about this next-gen version of the GTA V, thought. Ray tracing on a game like that could be exceptionnal. Let's hope this version has been more considered by Rockstar than the infamous GTA Trilogy...

Re: Rare Is Closing Down Sea Of Thieves' Arena Mode Next Month

Bobobiwan

Honestly, I never even tried this mode. Not once.

It felt so opposite to everything the game was trying to build, in my opinion.

So, as far as I'm concerned, I think it's the right call.

I would NOT say the same thing about the TIME-LIMITED release of their new adventure, thought. This feels just so unfair to players who don't have the time right now to sail (as myself, for example).

Re: Early Impressions Are Good For Cyberpunk 2077 On Xbox Series X

Bobobiwan

No lies : I finally opened my sealed game, bought the very first day of launch, more than one entire year ago.

It's installing right now. To my great surprise, the game does not download itself entirely, like it usually does with next-gen updates and smart delivery. Here, the disc installs 30 gbs, and the rest is downloaded. Interesting.

Same question as always, thought : will I be playing in performance, or quality mode ? ^^

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 8-9)

Bobobiwan

Nothing for this week-end as I have way too much work, but next week I plan to do something kind of heretic : to suspend my playthrought of Halo Infinite (which I just started, anyway) in order to wait and see if some future patch will fix those laggy cut-scenes (the only grief I have toward the game, right now).

So I plan to start Mass Effect, in the meantime !
