WB's new platform fighter MultiVersus has got off to a blistering start on Xbox. The game topped the free-to-play charts in multiple regions just a week or so after its open beta launched. Sadly, however, the game's first season has now been delayed by the developer.
Initially expected to launch early next week after the pre-season battle pass concluded on August 8th, Season 1 will now launch a little later. For now, the team hasn't dropped a new MultiVersus Season 1 release date, although it has said the battle pass has been extended through August 15th.
This delay also includes the release of new character Morty, from Rick And Morty. Morty is still set to launch alongside season 1, once the team nails down that new release date.
We felt this one had a ton of potential when we went hands on during its closed alpha period, and it's great to see it grow during open beta. We'll be keeping an eye on MultiVersus to see how it evolves, through Season 1 and beyond.

Yeah I bought the founders edition. I’ve been loving the characters movesets and the fun. Just beat the prerelease battle pass last night so I can dive deep into the new sea of thieves season seven.
It’s pretty fun game, I still need to get used to it though.
Eh, take your time, i'm good to just play it for what it is at the moment. This game has completely blindsided me with how much I love it and stolen a lot of time away from Xenoblade 3.
I am an unapologetic Bugs Bunny main, and that is unlikely to change even after he gets hit with nerfs.
