I think Microsoft should offer Middle Earth franchise in their entirety or at least one or two studios. Under Embracer I have doubts about their prolonged success. This separation may be beneficial for all parties concerns or likely they were already doomed to begin with.
To me it's a 9 out of 10 nothings perfect but the show was really amazing. As a huge fallout fan I was smiling like a kid through the entire show. They nailed the aesthetics and world building of the games. And more importantly dialogues were well written and carried out superbly by the amazing cast. They really did an amazing job.
@trev666 But they brought to the modern audience and quite successfully so. If it wasn't for them many like me would never have played in this wonderful universe so they deserve respect.
I have been eagerly waiting to finish Henry's story and KCD 2 seems to be bigger better and more immersive than the first one. If they can land the game in a polished state its going to be a serious GOTY candidate and my personal favourite so far. Kudos to Warhorse.
With all of it's shortcomings Skyrim still is an Awesome game to me. I have over a thousand hours and still play it alongside Fallout 4. Both are flawed masterpieces to me. Although I'm a bit of a Fallout fan than Elder Scrolls I still can't wait for the next title. I wish them all the best they make this an amazing game.
I didn't expect anything and yet I was quite surprised. Some game really seemed interesting to me. I'm glad there are developers who are willing to take risks. The Alters is something like a mix of Fallout shelter and Frostpunk and with a branching narrative which to me is hugely ambitious. Unknown 9 also interesting to me. And Frostpunk 2 is one of the most awaited game this year for me. And by the looks of it Frostpunk 2 is going to be 10 times more complex than the first one and that was already really challenging. A solid A showcase for me. As the name said it's a partner preview and it delivered in my opinion. But looking at some comments here as usual some folks have unrealistic expectations. Those guys must be really fun at parties.
Machine games never ceases to amaze me. Indy looks really amazing and to me captures the essence of the original trilogy. Also Avowed and Hellblade 2 are shaping up to be brilliant. I'm a bit skeptical about Ara but as a Civ and 4x fan it seems a bit new and hopefully a wonderful experience.
@InterceptorAlpha I was surprised too but the studio went through some controversy and it had a reputation for a bad workplace I believe. It's a sad state of affair but Microsoft most probably walked away after learning about this.
Why I get the feeling this is just tickling our nostalgia. All of the memorable moments from the first movie dumped in the trailer. It's more of a fan service than a game to me. But hope it's an interesting game.
Capturing the magic of Banjo in present day is almost impossible and on top of that without a passionate team behind it it's a disaster. I totally agree with this approach. Even though some folks think Toys for Bob would be a good fit but I disagree as a team has to be passionate about making such classic to appeal to present day audiences. But it's just me
@InterceptorAlpha Really interesting as S wasn't supposed to be the next big thing rather it's a really good entry point for lots of new gamers who couldn't afford a gaming device. And I congratulate Microsoft for making this bold decision. Some may not like it but S was the culmination of making games accessible to more players and I'm all here for it. It's an amazing console for it's value.
I'm really glad Infinite is having a resurgence and if they continue with this quality content update Infinite is going to be a long lasting game with a good community. Kudos 343i.
It's sad to see him go but he has given so much to the industry. And I think he was just waiting to wrap incredible launch of Starfield and now he can retire his head held high. Congrats on this amazing endeavor. May he live a long and prosperous life.
I was rooting for this game but sadly the game needed much more time to be polished. If it had a stable performance I think it'd have been a success for the devs. But the industry is heading in the wrong direction and if it continues like this there'll be lot more layoffs and canceled projects than actual good products.
Also the early access is limited to few countries at the moment. It didn't release in my playstore. I used to skip real time and finish everything in Fallout shelter. Let's see how they've changed the formula.
I was awestruck by this game. I really loved those first generation cartoons very much and when I opened the game I felt like I went back in time in those 30s and 40s era. I felt like a child once again. But boy was the game hard at first. It's a piece of art not just game. The amount of love and work behind the project is just unbelievable. I'm glad I was able to experience this gem in my lifetime. Kudos to everyone at Studio MDHR.
As I don't have friends to play video games with I was excited with this news. I've been itching to get into Sea of thieves as it seemed really fun. But you can't please everyone these days. No matter what you do you'll end up angering people online.
As a PC player BG3 and Starfield are both my top pick for the year so far. I had an absolute blast playing Starfield though and safe to say I'll play it for years to come.
@Pikachuuuu I forgot the name of the reviewer who does Racing games for IGN. He seems like a good chap and loves what he does. So hopefully it'll do better. But who knows.
It was a wild ride but finally this is done. I sincerely hope this merger bodes well for both Xbox and Activision in the long run and specially the devs can have better work environment. And hopefully Activision will make some sequel from their long forgotten ips. Give us another Prototype 🙏
I wouldn't blame Microsoft for underestimating Larian as they're crpg devs. It isn't a household name like FF or GTA or Elder Scrolls. But what they had done with DOS series was really impressive. And eventually their quality got recognized with BG3. And to be honest even Larian devs must've been a bit surprised by how amazingly the game sold. What's interesting to me is how well does this play and feel on console as this types of game is amazing with mouse and keyboard.
Amazing news and congrats all around but I like to enjoy my games without looking at sales number and without a doubt Starfield is on top of my list as the most fun I had in a long time.
Finally Todd's dream can come true. We can play skyrim on Alexa. Jokes aside how they are gonna fit all the components in a cylindrical shape. I'm curious It looks like some pc case you see on Amazon.
I haven't played oblivion still waiting for a remake but Starfield felt the most complete rpg BGS has put out in a decade. Before that only Far Harbor DLC was the best RPG experience for me although being an expansion. And quite frankly Starfield is thus far the best BGS game for me as a whole and one of the best games I've ever played.
@UndyingInsurgent95 I didn't know it was that bad but I hoped as a new ip it'd do well. It was a unique take on the stale fps genre. And we wonder why AAA studios don't take risk anymore.
Another thing was transistor wasn't invented in Fallout universe until just before the war. As a result the present day microprocessors that we use most likely was lost with the great war or never developed. So Starfield would've been completely new style of game. And it was batter choice to steer clear from that lore and create another lore.
@InterceptorAlpha But did the devs dismiss the option which may come on later date. I don't think GT7 came out with 120hz mode out of the box. It took them a year to apply it.
I really like the transparency about what technology the game using on which version. I'd love to see more devs give out this information but knowing most don't care we'd likely see once in a while. Kudos to Turn 10.
And there's a influx of new NMS videos popping left and right all of a sudden. I'm tired of clicking not interested at this point. I know it's a great game as I used to build a base on beautiful looking planets and to visit them every once in a while. It was for relaxation for me. I bet the game is much more fun with friends as alone otherwise found it really boring.
