Re: Starfield At 30FPS Is A Creative Decision, Says Xbox's Phil Spencer

Tonmoy

Given Starfield's magnitude I know it's difficult to run the game at stable 60 but I think they may have made a critical error as Bethesda may have thought about running it on 4k / 60 which they couldn't achieve most of the time. So decided to keep at 30. I know people are tired of 30 fps games in this age. But I hope they figure it out and run it 1440p 60. Option is always better. But I'm a PC player so I can't complain as PC is the Bethesda's most fans at.

Re: Report: Redfall Playtesters 'Shocked' At How Little The Game Changed During Development

Tonmoy

People blame Xbox for releasing such a broken game. But I've been saying it from the beginning it was Arkane Austin who shot themselves in the foot with this game as it lacked any direction whatsoever. It was Xbox who decided not to release a year ago cause it was not even half baked. They gave it time but still no progress was being made. SO there was no point of keeping it any longer as it was a failed project. Sadly it had to be released. Such a shame for a prominent studio to release something lackluster. But I hope under Xbox they find a better solution to which project to undertake and which not to. It's a slap in the face of the community and those who worked hard for a doomed project. Hope Xbox learns from this.

Re: Starfield Sounds Saucy If New ESRB Description Is To Be Believed

Tonmoy

I mean if they didn't add it modders were going to add it anyway like Skyrim and Fallout 4. This game is massive is going to be an understatement. I hope I'm not wrong and Bethesda this time give us a proper settlement building and management system unlike Fallout 4. I'm beyond excited for Starfield.

Re: Cloud Gaming Platform Calls Out Decision To Block Xbox's Activision Blizzard Deal

Tonmoy

If the deal goes through then these smaller cloud service providers even have a chance to compete in this marketplace. It was because of this deal so many games were offered on this services. UK wants to regulate cloud market but Microsoft is the only player that has the infrastructure to capitalize this market even without Activision merger. Both Amazon and Google have tried their hand and failed. Only Nvidia is standing. Instead of blocking the deal they should have provided infrastructure for upcoming cloud services to easily compete with the big corporations. Why should Microsoft be punished as they invested billions of dollars on cloud infrastructure while others sat their playing with their baby toys. This whole drama is pointless.

Re: Roundup: Here's What The Critics Think Of Minecraft Legends On Xbox Game Pass

Tonmoy

I think many people go in thinking it's a RTS so it'd be like AOE. But Minecraft as a genre is more popular amongst young generation specially kids. So if you make it a hard-core RTS it's going to miss it's targeted audience. I feel like reviewers fail to understand this simple things. It's a mixed bag for adults but kids are going to love this.

Re: Xbox Exec Denies Game Pass Is 'Disruptive', Says He's 'Super Hopeful' About Its Future

Tonmoy

What I find interesting is people pay full price for a game only to never finish it. And that happens a lot. But this model creates more opportunities for both gamers and creators alike. Developers get to reach more people than they ever could and consumers can get variety of products to choose from which one they'd like. Also we get to see more passion projects or risky venture which otherwise wouldn't be possible. And if people loved certain games they can buy it. Simple as that. Although traditional sale is going to diminish in a sense but player engagement rate increases a lot. Which is more important going forward in my opinion.

Re: Xbox Takes Major Step Towards Activision Blizzard Approval In UK

Tonmoy

People forget that if Microsoft wanted to outright buy exclusive right for any games they can even buy exclusivity even from Sony. But they remained on track to strengthen their relationship with countless smaller studios and publishers. Which seems to be paying dividend now. And then they targeted big studios and publishers to further bolster their first party lineup. A brilliant strategy and one I can see having far reaching positive effect in the gaming industry. Game pass has been the perfect blessing for gamers and going down the line game pass thrives so much that people from all aspects of life can enjoy it.

Re: UK CMA Documents Reveal Six Companies In Favour Of Xbox ActiBlizz Acquisition

Tonmoy

I'm sensing a paradigm shift in the gaming landscape like how Microsoft changed it with the original Xbox. I do hope it's for the best. I've come to love and respect Xbox in the past few years as some of the best moments in gaming I've had came from their studios or brilliant partnership with some amazing developers. Gamepass introduced me to the likes of Sea of Thieves, Ori series ( Masterpiece), Cuphead ( Masterpiece) State of Decay, Pentiment, Hifi Rush and so on. I do hope Xbox continues to deliver to their consumers and remain the go to choice for quality indies which to me is the lifeblood of this industry.

Re: Xbox Team Visits Kojima Productions To Kick Off 'Exciting Journey Ahead'

Tonmoy

@BAMozzy Actually I never understood a single story of his games. But what an amazing game play MGS5 had. It becomes dull and boring though after sometimes. As I had faced with Death Stranding. So that's why I'm cautiously optimistic. And about Xbox Publishing is really an amazing endeavor from Xbox like you mentioned. We've seen some high quality projects under this banner like Cuphead, Ori series and so much more. I love Xbox about this. I hope so many indie and even AAA developers can go out of their comfort zone to try something new. Otherwise we would be stuck with endless remake, remasters and sequels.

Re: Xbox Team Visits Kojima Productions To Kick Off 'Exciting Journey Ahead'

Tonmoy

While playing Death Stranding I had a feeling Kojima had a ambition of creating a unified open world which he lacked the instrument. Although Death Stranding isn't what I expected Kojima to deliver he was most likely amazed by Asobo's recreation of the entire world with the help of Microsoft and Azure. Let's hope he can blow us away like MSFS did couple years back. But then again I hope it doesn't again become another Scalebound. Cautiously optimistic.

Re: Tango Gameworks Founder Thanks Fans For Support Ahead Of Departure

Tonmoy

I don't know why Twitter exists as a medium it's full of degenerate human beings more so than other social media platforms. Since the inception of Tango Gameworks Shinji Mikami have been awfully quiet. He's been more of a mentor overseeing other emerging talents than direct the game himself. I think he's fulfilled his dream with this team and can leave happily seeing what he had created with this team. What he has achieved in this industry is massive and I'm a huge fan of his works. He helped make survival horror genre awesome for me and probably countless others. What'd be amazing before leaving he announces here's Evil Within 3. Regardless a pioneer in the industry and I have huge respect for him. Thanks a lot Shinji Mikami. Hope for a bright future ahead of you. And hopefully Tango Gamerorks can finally become a household name in making quality games.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 For Xbox Has 'Run Into Some Technical Issues'

Tonmoy

The problem is split memory in my theory. Devs don't know how to use split memory to fully utilize game workload. Seems the way Series S and X were designed only first party devs can utilize this feature. And most game engines seems to lack the feature to utilize it. I guess Microsoft should provide a proper pipeline to how to utilize this feature as in theory it's really good to shed workload. But seeing most devs can't utilize multi core processor only relying on single core utilization I don't have my hopes up.

Re: Elden Ring Reaches Incredible Sales Milestone Ahead Of One Year Anniversary

Tonmoy

I haven't had this much fun in an open world games since Kingdom Come Deliverance. It's an absolute blast to play. And lot more forgiving than other FromSoftware games. I previously tried DS3 and Sekiro. But couldn't get past the first boss as I didn't know how to play this type of games. But Elden Ring really helped me get better and better as I progressed. Fine pacing brilliant combat as is customary. Story is bit boring but that's okay as it's not necessary in this kind of game. I have finished the game probably 4 times with different classes. And I finally got into DS3 and finished and enjoyed the game 3 more times. But Elden Ring is a triumphant achievement. Dedicated jump button and summons have really made the game approachable for new comer also. Glad they are getting the recognition they deserve. One of my all time favourite masterpieces.

Re: Xbox Research Survey Asks Fans If They Are 'Done Playing Halo Infinite'

Tonmoy

I did receive this survey couple of days ago. I haven't touched Infinite in like 6 months. I'm not into multiplayer that much. But I liked the story. That being said 343i may have a really have a tough time ahead of them. The survey was directed towards 343i and their capabilities mainly. But I really hope they get a chance at redemption just like Hello Games did with No Man's Sky.

Re: Xbox Exec Wants Fans To Keep Developer_Direct Expectations In Check

Tonmoy

I don't know what fans expect from a Developer Direct that specifically mentions the first party games that are coming out in the coming months and shed light on it. And this games need promotion apart from ESO. To build up hype around them. I'm still curious as to how Redfall will play out. And as a big strategy fan Minecraft Legends also intrigues me. But I'm not into Minecraft so let's see how it pans out. That being said Mojang might be the least interesting studio in Xbox first party lineup. They're too lazy in my opinion. But why won't they be they make a ton of money by doing nothing. Also hopefully FM is a banger as FH5 really put the bar up high.

Re: 343 Industries Unveils Official Statement On The Future Of Halo

Tonmoy

I still think 343i can pull off a great Halo game as Infinite story was good. Specially the human side of Master Chief along with new Cortana and the Pilot. They had a good thing going on with the banished. Although I'd have liked to see Atriox as the main villain cause the little glimpse of Atriox we had was amazing. And also the game finished on a cliffhanger so I thought a DLC was on the horizon. Sad it's not. 343i has the passion they just need better coordination and a good leadership. For that I think they should experiment with smaller project with small team like Pentiment from Josh Sawyer and his handful team at Obsidian. This smaller fun project might reinvigorate the team and focus better on the bigger picture. I really appreciate the work those hardworking Devs put together for Halo Infinite. What dragged the game down was poor leadership. So hope for a better future for Halo and 343i.

Re: Phil Spencer Responds To Xbox Layoffs, Calls It A 'Difficult Moment In Time' For Microsoft

Tonmoy

So much heat for laying off excess staffs who may not be needed anymore for Microsoft. And not all the staffs are proficient workers either. And it seems like they can't fire dead weight. Should have just opened a charity rather than a company. Corporate jobs aren't permanent. The employee knows that. But I guess world is a bit tough place but so much crocodile tears being shed is unbelievable. Those who are so worried about this layoff should open a company and employ these poor souls.
