@Sol4ris That she started playing on Xbox this year according to other users, her initial statement and this fan service. As I said, the outcome is unknown, but replying to various fans and Xbox-related accounts is a positive thing, as long as she keeps listening to the Xbox community.

I don't see the blades coming back maybe this is to try get off on the right foot with the community or something but it won't happen!
Looks like something done for a positive news story just like this.

I am def on the doom and gloom side, but I hope to be surprised.

I am cynical and doubt it, but I would love to be surprised.

It does come across like she is just trying to make everyone happy by saying random generic things to try and fit it. I have a feeling that she wasn't prepared to even step into this role and it is a suprise to her because this comes across as someone who doesn't really understand the department she is now in charge of.

I personally think the brand needs this new sort of high-energy. I love Phil, but he was clearly getting tired and brittle. I reckon the higher ups know they have dropped the ball, and nothing covers up a 180 like a change in leadership (think Don > Phil).

I also think the switch in leadership now, just in time for the 25th anniversary, is a great opportunity for her to take the stage and announce a new vision or direction to the globe. Just my two cents but I think she deserves the benefit of the doubt.

If she fix the way achievements are shown, add platinums, and also allows hiding achievements I'll be her supporter forever. Lol.

The new head of Xbox is a potato!

Knowing the new head isn't from a gaming background, I can't help but read that with a hint of "how do you do, fellow kids" . I'm open to being pleasantly surprised and this being looked back on as the start of some Xbox golden age but we will see.

Sony doesn’t allow this either and it’s a major drawback in both trophy and achievement systems. Whenever someone unlocks an achievement Xbox collects their relevant data automatically, so allowing the end user to permanently remove a game from one’s achievement list has no bearing on those metrics. It would solve a whole host of issues—everything from glitched achievements to server shutdowns to badly designed lists with too harsh criteria for unlocking. There is zero intelligent reason both platform holders shouldn’t have enabled this feature from the very beginning.

So many people have been quick to allow themselves to believe everything will be better now. But mentioning the Blades makes it sound like she was instructed to say something that would resonate with the blindly loyal and unquestioning Xbox fans. No she doesn't have to be a gamer, Matt Booty will concentrate on the studios, but she does have to quickly bring herself up to speed on the market. I hope she does a great job, but for now, I will wait to praise her until I've seen the result of her actions.
