Re: After Fan Backlash, Marvel's Avengers Removes Its Paid Consumables

The real scumbaggery here is that they gimped xp so as not to 'overwhelm and confuse' players then opted to sell a solution to an issue they caused, disgusting.

@Krzzystuff I definitely think it was Square over CD that decided this. They forced MTX into Deus Ex against the devs will. I'd wager this is more of the same.

Re: Talking Point: What’s Your Scariest Video Game Moment?

Shigurui

Not even a horror game but a weird stealth game called Echo on PS4. Basically, all the enemies are AI that look like you and they learn and mimic everything you do. No idea why it got to me but I ended up in a roomful of clones trying to strangle me because they'd seen me do it and it absolutely freaked the hell out of me. Deleted!!!

Re: Rumour: Xbox Could Be Adding New Backwards Compatible Games This November

@FriendlyOctopus Silent Hill Downpour is already BC mate.

As mentioned by others I'd love to see JSRF make the list as the 360 BC for that game is pretty broken. PGR series too but I guess the car and soundtrack licences would be a nightmare.

I'd really like to see Dark Souls 2 get added too, it's quite a different game than the SotFS version that came to XBO.

That's a solid month. No interest in Castlevania but I always fancied Hover just never got around to buying it, so no excuse now. Code Veronica is a classic and Aaero is surprisingly good, I have it on PS4 but I'll gladly play it again. Happy days!

Re: Alan Wake Remastered Is Setting Up A Planned Sequel From Remedy, Claims Insider

Shigurui

@Dezzy70 I hear that resource and time thing a lot where remasters are concerned but I've never heard of a single game that didn't get made because of a remaster. More often than not they're done by support devs or different devs entirely.

In this case specifically Remedy are known to be making Control 2, they're making a multiplayer game set in that universe and possibly Alan Wake 2. If this remaster sells well and makes money then it's beneficial to them financially. I see no downside.

Re: Xbox Says ‘Gatekeeping And Elitism’ Have No Place In Gaming

Shigurui

@Spiders It's interesting that you mention Bayonetta as that game has an automatic setting that basically plays the game for you. It also has items that make you 100% invincible regardless of the difficulty you play on. Do those things lessen the game for you?

To my mind, Team Little Angels/Platinum Games made a game that completely realised their vision while not excluding anyone from playing their game and seeing the credits run. More games should be like this.

Re: Xbox Says ‘Gatekeeping And Elitism’ Have No Place In Gaming

@uptownsoul My point was that the Souls games are easy if you want them to be so why not give them difficulty options, that way anyone can see the credits roll without having to spend an age on a Souls wiki. They can just press play on easy, smash enemies to bits and have fun doing it. I don't see any harm in that.

Games like Ninja Gaiden and DMC are far more difficult than any Souls game (imo) yet Team Ninja and Capcom don't have issue with adding easy modes so players of all skill levels can enjoy their games.
